  • Welcome to MFP! I hope it's the missing piece for you to move past that plateau! If it isn't at least the price is right!!!

  • Sugar has a powerful pull for sure! When I started (1/1) I had to go totally off of it...almost like a little detox. I still had fruit but that was it. Now I am ok having small quantities...a dove dark chocolate or something like that. The thing is, you have to decide that you are worth all of this. It's hard for sure, but…

  • I tend to like it cold...especially with greek salad ingredients added....some diced red onion, cucumber, feta cheese, greek olives and a squeeze of lemon, makes a delicious quinoa salad. It's pronounced Keen-Wa btw. Maybe you knew that, but it doesn't spell at all how it sounds! I've also made a black bean salad…
  • I currently take nothing regularly....I feel like I am eating a varied and nutrional diet so don't need them. I do take melatonin (for sleep) as needed, and fiber gummies (for deuce) as needed also :-1:
  • Yes, I use happy scale (the app) to track my weight. I weigh daily because I like to see what foods affect the scale. I will stay within .2 for weeks, then boom down 2 lbs. then the next week...up a pound a day, then all of a sudden it is all back off. I don't have periods any more but probably still do have hormone…
  • Nice work! I'm glad you've moved on and transformed yourself in the process!
  • Welcome to MFP all of you! Enjoy exploring the site, there is tons of information!
  • This is always the worst time of year for me...my friends and family around the country are enjoying spring activities like hiking and biking and I am still waiting for the mud to harden enough so I can go on a hike!
  • South Seattle....Rain, Rain, and more Rain! Why do I not live somewhere sunny?
  • for me sugar is the problem too. I went cold turkey off processed sugar Jan 1. I still eat fruit but no candy, cakes, cookies, creamer, etc... Now that it has been a couple of months I have other things that help curb the sweet cravings...dates, sugar free hot cocoa, sugar free chocolate pudding, a dove dark chocolate (45…
  • Welcome to MFP! I wish you well on your journey to a better, healthier you! I know very little about PTSD but hope you are working to get the help you need to deal with it. Thank you for your service...I probably should have led with that! I'm humbled by those of you who serve! You can totally become the fit guy you once…
  • where is Kebab shop? I've never seen them around Seattle. Boo...Do they not have a yogurt/tzatsiki sauce option? That is a pretty healthy sauce often served with gyros and kebabs
  • I love yoga and Pilates (52 YO)....I would say if you aren't sure about your gym but know yoga is something you love, explore other places with more class time options. make a choice that is going to work better for you. Maybe you can see if there are some yelp reviews on gyms or yoga studios around you. I think for me,…

  • What is your plan? Only you can make the changes you need to make sure that lifetime movie has a happy ending!
  • Wow, nice work! Congratulations on your successes, it's so great to see your hard work has paid off! You are a great story teller as well!
  • Sometimes it is so good to go back and see where you were. congratulations on those 6 lbs, it sounds like those were hard fought!
  • stopped and restarted many times as well...totally not because of the app, all about me. get bored, busy, something...

  • Have you tried Dove dark? It's like the "gateway chocolate to dark"...more flavorful than milk but not as bitter as some darks can be. one square can totally satisfy my chocolate cravings (50 calories). I also use SF chocolate pudding or hot chocolate...those work as well!
  • On the other end of the $$$ spectrum (or near the other end) NYDJ, are bad for this as well. I wear a smaller size in those than any other pants! (not your daughters jeans)...I love them though!
  • the past couple of weeks I have added back in a dove dark chocolate a day...at the most. I track it and it is included in my 1200 calories. I've been having less fruit though, instead of an apple, I'll have snap peas. It's going well...12/31 was our last day of too much sugar! Now we are having little to none and feel much…
  • welcome back! Fresh starts are awesome...it's great that we can have one every day!
  • Oh and....on our 7 day safari, we did see all of the animals in Tarangira that we saw in the Serengeti, the Crater and the other cool places we went. I was thinking if I took my husband back in a few years, we would do exactly the trip you did, climb Kilamanjaro and then spend a day or two in Tarangira. It's awesome there!
  • This is totally a life goal for my husband and I! I was in Tanzania for my 50th birthday 2 years ago for 10 days and never even saw the mountain! BUT I did encounter many people who had gone up it. I'm going back for my husbands 65th in 4 years to climb it. Can't wait! So cool that you did it!
  • congratulations on your success! You look amazing, hope you feel amazing too!

  • Hi there and welcome to MFP both of you! I'm 52 also, in WA state and looking to keep on losing. I restarted this year 1/1 with the goal to lose around 30 lbs, I'm down 13 so far. poke around the site, figure out what your daily recommended calories are and start logging!
  • I say try it...BUT if you need to bail because of the weather, do it. You won't regret giving it a try. Have fun and good luck!
