  • Not really sure if this counts as a victory, but I dropped my phone while sitting down, and it went right through my thighs... And a fitness victory: was filing in the very back of an over-stuffed drawer, and the drawer decided it wanted to fall off the hinges. I was able to catch it and carefully slide it back in…
  • Belly and thighs :c All twelve pounds I've lost so far seem to have come off of my calves/ankles and arms, which were fine to begin with...
  • Try the Beginner 30 Day Shred before attempting the normal 30 Day Shred if you're not an active person yet. The Beginner is very low impact, will build up your endurance and set you on the start of fitness. Its much more manageable for me as to compared to her normal Shred. :) Its just important that you not give up and…
  • My tip is to try everything. Experience it! You'll be doing so much walking and hiking through the parks, possibly swimming and dodging children, you'll be expending so many calories you won't know what to do with yourself. Please enjoy every second of it, and visit Universal's Wizarding World of HP for me :)
  • Well, now I have Rebecca Black stuck in my head.
  • Baltimore, MD
  • It could easily be water weight since its such a small fluctuation. I doubt you ate an extra 7000 calories, so its almost certainly just water weight. I know it stinks when its fluctuating right there on the cusp of a ten, but stay motivated! If you were there a few days ago, you can easily get there again :)
  • If pizza counts, then pizza. Or maybe cheese. Or potatoes? They're versatile and tasty.
  • If you don't like your outfit, find something that makes you feel good about yourself! Feeling confident definitely motivates me to work out and stick to healthy eating.
  • Sounds like they're jealous. It also sounds like you know you're doing what you're doing is for YOU, and no one else. So, keep on working to be healthier for yourself, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You're doing amazing, congrats on being in a healthy BMI!!
  • Hi, I'm Katie! Tonight will be Day 10 of level 1 for JM's Beginner Shred. I'm hoping to finish this DVD out this month, and then start on her real shred DVD. Can't wait to see how everyone does and get motivated! Good luck everyone! I'm 20 years old, 5'6"ish, SW: 147.2, CW: 137.0, GW: 120-115
  • Yay! Good luck everyone! :D
  • Me! Started March 4th, lost almost ten pounds. :) Log everything, even if it hurts :P
  • Your thighs have definitely shrank! I see a little possible shrinking in your arms, too. Keep it up! Remember that not all body parts lose fat at the same rate. Your legs may lose faster than your belly, but the belly will catch up at some point!
  • http://modelmydiet.com/ There is also a site that pulls images from /r/progresspics, and allows you to search the images via height/weight so you can see what certain amounts of weight loss looks like, but I can't find it again. Gah. I'll keep looking.
  • I'm in for some accountability! I tend to do my weighs on Saturdays, though. Name: Katie Age: 20 Height: 5' 5" Start Weight (1st April): 138.0 Goal Weight (1st May): 130.0 1st April: 138.0 8th April: 15th April: 22nd April: 29th April: 1st May: Weight lost/gained this week: Weight lost/gained this month:…
  • I read a post a week or two ago where the person's trainer suggested adding in something simple, like an extra glass of milk after a workout or at the end of the day. That adds about 150 calories to your diet. Its something simple you don't have to plan for (my calorie goal is about 1200, and I too sometimes don't really…
  • Ha - that's great. No idea why it might be happening, but I'm sure your wife has no problem with it. I've seen couples who lose weight together, but the man usually loses weight a little faster than his female counterpart, which sometimes irritates the wife a bit. This might be relieving some stress for her. :P And…
  • That's about what I'm trying to lose (trying to lose 27 pounds, already lost 9). I'll add you :)
  • Have you tried J Michaels's Beginner Shred? I haven't done her normal Shred yet, but I really like the Beginner. Its very low impact, and I can definitely see a difference in my arms. Not far enough in yet to see a difference in much else, but I checked out all the levels, and they all seem pretty low impact.
  • Without strength training to keep your muscle, you may be losing muscle mass. I can't say for sure, but that may be what's happening.
  • ^ That. Someone needs to say something to him, but it should probably come from someone who is supportive of him trying to be healthier rather than someone who would completely crap on what he's trying to do. Just tell him to tone it down. Though if someone was touching my plate and going near my food, I would have lost it…
  • I've seen most people log it as twenty or so minutes of "circuit training - general." As for calories burned, you'd have better luck using a heart rate monitor. MFP's exercise calories are generally inaccurate and exaggerated.
  • Definitely in! Trying to lose between 6 and 10 pounds a month, so this is perfect.
  • My first thought :D Congrats! Keep going and you'll reach your goal in no time. :)
  • Ha - I live in Baltimore, sort of near Druid Hill. I wouldn't recommend it during the night or very early, its not exactly the best area, and its right near even worse areas. I've never been in the park, but I can't imagine its kept up well, might not be the best terrain for bike riding. I'm always pretty leery of this…
  • That is amazing! Congrats! (*)
  • Started in early March, and I've lost almost nine pounds so far! I don't do a lot of exercise, so I attribute most my success to carefully counting calories. I've eaten at restaurants the past two nights, where its difficult to calculate calories, so I'm hoping that won't effect me too much. Definitely give it a try if…
  • I make zucchini noodles all the time, and they are DELICIOUS. I cannot recommend them enough. I used to make pasta at least a few times a week, so when I decided to start dieting, it killed me. Zucchini noodles are a tasty substitute. I tried spaghetti squash, but it doesn't have the right texture for me.
  • Hi there! I'm twenty, my current weight is 140 and I'm looking to go down to 120-115. I could absolutely do with some motivational friends!
