  • My streak finally hit 777 days. Too bad I wasn't tracking for even a quarter of them. But I am now and I've been consistently staying in a deficit and loosing. I'm currently 251.6 (heaviest 277) and my next mini-goal is to get under 250. I haven't been under 250 in the last 15 years. I will hit that mini-goal this week so…
  • I just started tracking again last week and was down 2.8 lbs yesterday. It could have been a little more but I faltered a couple of times during the week eating a total of 1800 extra calories for the week than I had planned on. Lesson learned and I'm moving forward. I'm currently 251.8, and I'd like to hit at least 150…
  • My Dr. also recommended a daily probiotic. I have tried a few and the one I notice a difference with is Digestive Advantage. There are so many different ones to choose from though and I'm sure a lot of them are better than the one I'm taking, but it is what I can work into my budget. Here is a link to a post (with linked…
  • My streak hitting 777. I'm 17 days away! I know that might be an odd goal to have as something that motivates me, but it keeps me coming back and tracking so I don't lose the streak.
  • Awesome! Keep it up. I'm hitting day 670 tomorrow. You'll be there before you know it.
  • Wondering how to improve my level of commitment. I tracked my food for about 120-ish days then stopped, but I still open MFP every day with my streak hitting 619 days today. I wish my tracking commitment was as strong as my need for a high streak.
  • I have had an absolutely incredible amount of success water fasting. This is what I did... Within the first hour of waking up I would drink at least 1L of water. After that I would have a nice balanced breakfast. Then I would water fast until lunch when I ate another pretty balanced meal. Then water fasted until dinner…
  • Keeping my streak up!
  • I used to have this problem all the time, and recently fell back into it. The thing that did work for me, that I will be starting again, is not eating after 7PM, and going to bed between 10-12. I make sure to eat dinner around 6:30 and then I'm done for the day. This helped in a few ways. 1 - my frequent heartburn in the…
  • When I crave something sugary I have something sugary. Try to work on portion control instead of trying to restrict yourself. After tracking for a while you can get a pretty good idea of what your eating habits are. Adjust them to make room for the things you like.
  • I'm all for an occasional smoothie, but I prefer to eat solid foods and use my blender for making banana ice cream. Why are you swapping out meals for smoothies?
  • I do not log daily/weekly cleaning, as those are things I always do. I did spend 4 hours yesterday deep cleaning and moving furniture in the guest room and the living room, some of it involving moving pieces up the stairs. So I tracked 30 minutes of moving furniture. I would never track the whole 4 hours since most of it…
  • I would say no. Like others are saying, it does not teach portion control, and personally, the ingredients are not for me. While a calorie deficit is the only thing that truly matters for weight-loss, I feel that people here get too hung up on pointing that out. I feel that certain foods can aid in weight-loss. Not in a…
  • I did WW for a year because my insurance fully reimbursed me for the online membership. The points system took way more effort to track than MFP does. The only good thing that came out of WW online was the forums. They are supportive and pretty informative (but always do your own research) at times. There are more…
  • This! I am getting better at staying aware of what I'm eating and why. Also, I know exercise isn't needed to lose weight, but I need it to get fit as I lose weight, and I get so bored walking and doing exercises at home with no equipment. I need some equipment at home to use to give me some variety. Unfortunately, I'm on a…
  • I get fresh eggs from my Grandpa, but when I need a lot, I buy them at Sam's club. I get 3 dozen for $4.
  • I ate more than double my calories yesterday, and the worst part is that I knew I was doing it and still didn't stop myself. Tracked it all and am back on track today though.
  • I like to have a berry and oat smoothie for breakfast, or sometimes dinner if I don't feel like cooking. I't 222 calories, and it keeps me full. It makes a 24oz smoothie. 6oz frozen berries (I use the tri-berry mix from Sam's club) 20g yogurt (Fage 2% plain greek) 20g oats (Quaker rolled oats) 7g coconut oil (pure,…
  • When I would crave more food before I was ready for bed I'd brush my teeth early for the same reason.
  • Before you put the leaves in, tear them up and kind of beat them up a little. That will release some of the oils better and give you a stronger flavor from them as opposed to just sticking them in as is.
  • To track everything I eat, no matter what! Also, that for me personally, not eating after 7PM has made a world of difference. I'm sleeping amazingly, which hasn't happened since I was in high school, and I went from having really bad heartburn in the middle of the night, almost every night, to being heartburn free for over…
  • The forums are not for blindly supporting people based on how they feel. It would be a disservice to support someone falsely just to make them feel better. Would you rather people tip toe around how they're going to make you feel, or for them to give you truth? No one said anything rude, not deserving your "insert middle…
  • You can still have some of the things you're cutting out, it'll make it easier long-term. Restricting yourself so much will make it very difficult to sustain your new way of eating. Can it be done? Absolutely! But why deprive yourself? Calories are the number one thing to pay attention to, then after that, eat what makes…
  • Cherries and red grapes have been on my mind all week. Definitely getting some tomorrow.
  • I usually have 3 snacks for the day. Pretzel sticks for something salty, animal crackers for something sweet, and a little chocolate for after dinner, because chocolate. I weigh out all 3 in the morning and snack on them as I want to. I know that they're already accounted for and when they're gone, they're gone.
  • There is a site you can use. I'll link at the end here, but some people are leery of links, so if you'd rather search it instead of clicking, just type "over eaters support group online" into your search engine and it should be the first result. Lots of good information there. http://www.oa.org/
  • I stepped on the scale and it read 280! It had never been that high before. That along with having to stretch my t-shirts out after they're dried so they aren't tight on me made me commit like I've never committed before to losing weight. I've lost 20 pounds since then, and I don't plan on ever gaining it back, the number…
