  • Definitely look into good socks- they make a world of difference. Also, if you're totally new to the gym and don't know where to start- does your gym have personal trainers? Often you can get a free welcome session to get at the very least a tour of the equipment and a basic starting point. And as others have already said,…
  • I know that WW isn't a popular thing here as well, but I joined up last week and love the new program! I find that a lot of the good habits I've picked up via MFP and even the 21 day fix (eating a lot more veggies basically) go well with the program and while I'm a vegetarian and won't enjoy the 0 point chicken, I love…
  • We've all been there. Some days I'll feel great, other days I'm wondering why I can't lose weight and get frustrated. it's not easy, but it's easier than just throwing in the towel. If not for weight loss, think of this journey as getting healthier and feeling better. Start with small changes and track your calories. One…
  • I guess I'm used to the Devotion fluff because never had any issues of bloat or gas. Hope that's not the case with the new Quest powder i"m trying! I make it with ice too (whips up realy fast in the Ninja or Nutrabullet) and it's like a Wendy's frosty.
  • Lactose-free milk is pretty darn similar to regular milk (I drank Lactaid for years). I'm working towards giving up dairy and finally tried cashew milk- pretty good with cereal and in coffee! I don't drink milk anymore, but just can't give up my "lattes" in the morning and cashew milk froths up nice too :)
  • Tons of free ones on Youtube- search for HASfit, Sparkpeople and as already recommended Fitness Blender. I just got Beachbodyondemand and love it. I like that I can take a taste of any workout program they offer- great value and much more affordable than buying their dvds. The DailyBurn is also a paid streaming workout one…
  • I broke my ankle last September so right now it's running and jumping that I can't do and I miss terribly! Hopefully by next spring I can start running again.
  • I plugged in your stats, and yes you're BMI is around 19, which is technically normal- but on the verge of underweight. Don't be so defensive- people are answering trying to offer advice. Eat more and don't stress about food, focus on strength training and fitness for stress release. But eat more, you'll feel better :)
  • I'm intermittent fasting on most days now, but before one of my fav quick and fairly low cal breakfast was an egg sandwich- 140 cal english muffin toasted, 1 egg and a low-cal kraft single (140+70+45=255 cals). Overnight oatmeal is also great and easy to prep the night before- lots of recipes out there.
  • This might sound totally dumb, but are you working out more and therefore sweating more - and with that, what's your body and facewashing regimen? I totally recommend tea tree oil based face washes- I've been breaking out more too and that helped immensely.
  • Yes, this! I broke my ankle last fall and during my recovery I found seated/chair exercises that would translate well to sitting in a wheelchair. My favourite was Sparkpeople (search youtube for sparkpeple seated workout). I also did a quick search on youtube and found several results under "wheelchair workout."
  • I needed to read this today! Was just about to ask the same question. I had two days where I was below my net calories and yesterday totally went over, while thinking "hey, as long as I don't go over by what I was under this week so far, then I should still be good."
  • I have horrible issues with bingeing and don't quite have the answer yet, but can say that during times I've been successful I've found Hungry Girl has good recipes that speak to me- LOTS of food, less calories. It may not always be chocolate-related (though getting low-cal chocolate pudding and pairing that with fat free…
  • I did it years ago and lost weight. I just tried again and blech- a few days in and I'm struggling. Having 30 DP I was shocked yesterday to see that a cup of soup was 11 points. The soup was 250 cals a cup, and I was going to pair it with a WW bagel- but that would have been 15 pts for a 400 calorie lunch. I know you can…
  • I'm just switching to macros too. I'm used to calorie counting but struggling right now and thought this would give me some new motivation. I have an open diary, feel free to add me :) Just started with iifym today :)
  • Yup, totally excuses and I know that. Good harsh reminder :)
  • Nice to meet you and meet a fellow "broke my leg/foot" survivor! :) And yup, we've all been there before with the eff-it attitude. Lol, onwards and upwards though! We can do this!
  • Ditto to the others- I've heard of this before and it's common. I've seen some marriages fall apart when one person loses weight, and other marriage blossom. I think it's all about communication and trust, but also about the root of the relationship. If he doesn't trust you or is jealous of your success, he's got some…
  • Love this! I forgot about pickles! Will pick up a jar of baby dills tonight *drool*
  • I'm also in a small town and do a lot of online shopping or wait until I'm in the "big city" so for sizing I go to the sizing chart for whichever store I'm at. Each store has different sizing and their charts will tell you where to measure for the best fit. That said, I have a few trusted places I go to and know I like the…
  • Here's some info that might help! I'm not a living-example, as I have my own pooch (and 40 lbs) to lose, but I read a lot about this and also got info from my doctor when I first was asking "will my stomach ever go back??" http://www.befitmom.com/diastasis-recti.php
  • Yup- totally eat your exercise calories back (or at least a portion of them). Sounds like you got a good handle on what range is working for you and how to adjust if you aren't losing. I'd also seriously consider lightening your exercise goal time to increase some sleep and recovery time- otherwise you'll burn out in this…
  • I do (now)! Trying to get more organized and less tempted to get takeout drove me to meal prep. I focused first on my dinners and this has been working so awesome! My husband and I both have two options for dinner all week (for a bit of variety) and I do kind of an "almost prep" so that I can flavour my chicken or add…
  • First off, go easy on yourself- you're pregnant and only gained 20 lbs. The math won't add up because you are growing a person inside of you- so that baby, the placenta, etc- that all weighs something. Make sure you're eating healthy and be cautious of getting enough nutrition for the baby. I gained 40 lbs while pregnant-…
  • breakoutbras.com has some awesome ones with reviews too. I can't remember the one I bought off-hand (I think it's Enell), but you can read the info on each sports bra and they come with recommendations. Totally recommend that site for awesome bras!
  • recipes.sparkpeople.com is great too! And I also like hungry-girl.com
  • I think you're doing pretty darn good! Do you have a fitness tracker (ie: fitbit)? I find it's a great way to get an idea of how many steps you're getting and how sedentary you are. Getting up from your desk for a 3-5 minute walk every hour is a great way to stay alert and fight the effects of sitting all day- and it…
  • I think a lot of people probably said what I'm about to, but I think first kudos for caring for him and wanting the best for him! A lot of people jumped on you for "not being his parent, back off, etc" but I can see you're coming from a place where your parents aren't interested or involved and you want the best for your…
  • 5"5, 183 lbs, size 12 pants. I started in January at 199 and was a size 14-16.
  • I don't really miss anything, as I haven't cut anything out of my diet completely- just smaller portions. I do kind of miss just eating without thinking or tracking- that "freedom." But since I have no desire to gain back the 15 lbs I've lost (and still want to lose 30 more), I'd rather miss the lbs then miss the ignorance.
