I personally love when people make generalizations. It really helps society as a whole. Some fat people are fat because they were lazy and made excuses. I'm one of them. Some fat people are fat because they have legitimate physical or mental issues that contribute to their weight. I'm one of those as well. Some skinny…

I'm not going to bother reading everyone else's posts because it will probably spark me to say something I'll regret, so I'll just voice my OPINION. For ME (and only me, not speaking for ANYONE else), drinking diet soda causes me to want other sugary things, so I tend to stick with water. However, I do treat myself to one…

I like to drink a protein shake around 7:30 in the evening. Keeps me full until I go to bed!

My guess is you're overdoing it. You're not giving your body a rest and you're further stressing it by not eating enough. I have PCOS as well and weight loss is overall slower because of it, but I do notice that on days when I stick to a higher calorie (but still a deficit) I lose more than when I try to stick to a much…

You got this! I started at 301.4 and I'm down 20 lbs so far. If I can do it, anyone can!

I was diagnosed several years ago, and struggled with putting on additional weight as a result of my joints hurting and my meds. I'm happy to say that after losing 20 lbs, my joint pain has actually gotten better, and my night vision has improved a bit from eating the right vitamins and foods. I do avoid gluten most of the…

All of the above, but - invest in a step tracker - even if you just use one on your phone. I thought I was moving a lot, until I got a step tracker and realized I wasn't even hitting 5,000 steps a day. If you drive to class, park a way back from where you are going and walk the extra little bit. Those things add up! Take…

I weigh every morning, but I record only on Thursdays. For me, the scale is just a measurement of what's going on in my body. It doesn't bother me if I'm a little higher one day. But I don't recommend it for people who get stressed out when they see the number go up.

I feel you. I have joint issues as well, but I'm finding that the more weight I lose, the better that becomes. Even the first 10 lbs made a drastic difference for me! Take it slow and don't put pressure on yourself, You do what you can do! Also, I love sarabushby's suggestion of non-weight bearing exercise. My mom lost a…

None of us like that red negative calorie number on some days, but it's so much easier to stay encouraged if you're honest with yourself (and MFP). This is my third attempt at MFP and I'm finally being honest with myself, and it's working. Not as fast as I'd like, but it's still going in the right direction.

I supplement with Premier Protein drinks, but basically, sharpen up those chompers and dig into some meat (assuming you are a carnivore...otherwise, protein is the way to go). I know it's frustrating but hang in there. It takes some time to figure out what works.
-
Wow, that's awesome. Did you do a particular program?
-
I use protein shakes to supplement because I have a hard time meeting my protein goals. I use Premier Protein, but here are some stats on the favorites (not sure if it will format well): Name Calories Fat Carbs Protein Sodium Protein per 100 calories (10 or better is best) Slimfast 190 6 25 10 210 5.26…

I have about 150 more pounds to lose as well. In it for the long haul. Feel free to add me if you like.

I just hit 26 lbs lost and I'm finally...FINALLY starting to see some small changes in the way my clothes fit and the way my body looks. I'm so excited for the future!
I rarely get approached in other public spaces.
Maybe they feel they already have something in common with you. You know, since you're both at the gym and all.

I fail to see the problem. At least you're getting asked out.

My goal is 170, and to lose as much of that in a year as I can healthfully lose, so I'm in it for the long haul. You can do this!

Veggie keto is tough. Make sure you track everything and pay really close attention to your fat and protein levels.

Binge eater/food hoarder, right here. I'm finally beginning to see my own strength, but it's a battle every hour of the day.

All of this. I don't deprive myself of much -- completely. I go by the 80/20 rule. 80% of the time I move more, eat better, eat less. 20% of the time I either have a rest day or a yummy not so healthy snack. I find that filling in my meal plan ahead of time helps me stay on track, and account for special treats here and…

170 to lose, so I'm in it, and there's nothing I have cut completely out of my diet. Last night I had a slice of Costco pizza (and it was friggin amazing) and I still registered a loss. It's all about balance. I like the 80/20 rule for everything myself. Makes me not feel super deprived. Add me if you like. I'm here to…

Want.

Premier Protein shakes are my best friend. High in protein, gluten free, and low carb.

I would recommend just visiting your neighborhood GNC and talk to them about your goals so they can hook you up with the right ones for you.

Hi there! I'm originally from Maryland, but I'm a west coaster now. I'm here to support if you need it. Feel free to add me! I have a loooooooooooooooong way to go. I'm only 20 lbs into a 170 lb weight loss goal.

Super helpful there, eldamiano.

Bleh, I had one of those days today. A family member sent me some candy for Easter and I ate a couple pieces. And then I ate a couple more pieces. And then I ate a couple more pieces. I'm so angry at myself for doing it, but I will forgive myself and move on. Most days I have a couple of Hershey's kisses with lunch and it…

I'm with you. I'm trying to be to the top end of my healthy weight spectrum in a year.
-
I've been doing it for 8 weeks and I've lost 13 inches. And it goes relatively fast if you're one of those people who doesn't enjoy working out so much (like I am).
