  • I was bulemic as a teen and your post has reminded me to see it's echo in my current "slump". I have done my share of therapies (so many types, all have something to offer, I highly suggest trying some out) and have let go of the self hate but the habits, albeit far less extreme, are still something I must contend with. I…
  • W10D2 completed...first ever forest trail run. I loved the rocks and roots and soft forest floor. My time was slow: I got lost a bit, anything over a 35degree incline I walked as fast as I could (keeping my rhythm and heart rate as steady as possible) and some hills were pretty steep. But as soon as it started levelling…
  • In addition to the bandaid, I have taped the 2 toes together so they don't rub anymore and that helped.

  • I do this too. Up at 5 and to bed at 9. And cardio is an appetite suppressant, so I often eat early and go for a run in the evening...bath and brush teeth afterwards.
  • Pilates does wonders for elongating the torso and defining the waist. It won't get rid of the fat any faster, but I find strengthening the core and improving my posture has increased my satisfaction with my belly as I toohave stubborn belly fat.
  • After finishing the program I haven't run in 5 weeks. .until yesterday! I was impressed with my speed. Only had to catch my breath for a minute once after a good 7 min steady climb. So I signed up for 2 different 5k runs...the first week of June and the last of Sept. I obviously need a goal to keep going despite feeling so…
  • W8D3 finished! I am starting to explore new trails and am amazed I finished the program. I have never been able to run more than a couple minutes. To those just starting: just keep it up. If you don't run for a few days don't beat yourself up, just put on your shoes and get out there. You can do it! I will keep going with…
  • Yes, that is what I have heard. I am still quite heavy (but have lost 25lbs!) and have platar fascitis, which is decreasing in severity as I improve my stretches, my shoes, and lose weight. However too much distance at this time will likely aggravate the injury. So I will keep my runs to 40mins max and vary speed and…
  • W7D3 Done! Wow. One more week to go, then I will increase my distanct to 5km and then start getting my speed up so I can do that in 30mins. So hard to believe I am getting this done!
  • Just got home from W7D2. Another sunrise run. I went to a workshop on stress and anxiety and it was suggested to do min 15 min cardio each morning to use up some of the stress hormones our body replenishes when we sleep. I am used to running at night but I am giving it a shot and like it so far. I also love that I don't…
  • I did W7D1 yesterday at the crack of dawn. Ran from my house almost 2k to a wildlife conservation then ran around the trails there. Can hardly beleive I did that! It was beautiful. I am pretty sore today but looking forward to doing it again tomorrow!
  • W6D3 done! So glad this new years resolution is sticking! I have lost almost 20lbs since Christmas.
  • Week 6 Day2 Done! Felt great. Plus I have been doing pilates every day (for 4 days) which has activated my core. I am feeling very strong, aligned, with a relaxed neck and calm breath. I highly recommend pilates as a great companion program!
  • @Tacklewasher I am in Victoria. Small cyberworld.
  • I have done this so many times, running as late as 11pm. But I quite enjoy the calm cold and cloak of darkness. I have my blinkers but no one can see how purple my face is!
  • Week 6 Day 1 done. Only one more day of intervals and then just full runs from then on. Stopping and starting today was almost harder than the 20 min run. I felt like I was just hitting my stride when it told me to start walking. Wow. In 2 weeks I will be running 30 mins!
  • I did it! W5D3! 20 mins non stop. Not bad at all. I even ran uphill for the last 5 mins! I was slooooow. But I kept my feet moving. It was not nearly as hard as I thought it would be.
  • I was snowed in this week and it is finally melting. I planned to put my shoes on this evening after work but I was up at 430 am and just couldnt do it. I am on W5D3. 20 mins is psyching me out. But tomorrow morning I will get it done. Pinky swear.
  • I was diagnosed with exercise induced asthma as a kid and was always the bench warmer in high intensity sports like basketball. Most I could play was about 2 mins at a time. I thought I would be needing to get a script for a bronchodilator but I am surprised to say that I am almost done week 5 and my lungs are dping great.…
  • Week5Day1 done! Monday I move on to 8...then the dreaded 20. Feeling optimistic. The 5s are feeling pretty easy.
  • Week 4 complete! This one felt great. Made sure to not have much food in my stomach. Finished strong. When I heard the one minute left prompt I dug in and ran, uphill no less!
  • W4D2 Down! The 5 minute runs are getting easier. Good thing. Hard to beleive that next week I am to run 20 mins. But I did get through 3.5km in the half hour, so I can see how running continuously could see you run 5k in 30 mins. Pretty cool!
  • @KatzeDerNacht22 I could use more friends here on mfp. I am 36yrs old and from Canada, love craft beer too...and cats. I have 2 of them. Add me if you would like!
  • I havent gotten fitted, no. I have a pair of new balance...was waiting to go to the fancy running shop until I knew this is something I was going to stick with...but I suppose it is time to invest for my feet's sake.
  • Week4Day1 done. I started running when it said "halfway there" so I ran almost 18 minutes total! Hard to believe!
  • I finished Week 3 on Sunday and haven't put my shoes on since. Going to get back on the horse tonight.
  • Has anyone else has issues with heel pain? I started the program at 247lbs and am taking 2 rest days between each run to make sure I don't aggravate it into something that doesn't go away after a couple days of rest. I imagine it will get better as I lose weight. I hope so because I hate swimming at the pool or using the…
  • Hi there. I fell off the wagon in October (in week 2) but got back on the horse last week. Just finished Week 2 feeling strong. On to Week 3!
  • I just did W1D1 and am excited by how good it felt. Its hard to imagine running for 30mins nonstop but I see all of your success and am feeling confidant!
  • I just did W1D1! Felt much better than I expected.
