  • Thanks for all the comments. I'm going to try to run my interval workout every Saturday going forward and use time instead of distance so I can do them outside. My running app has an "interval creator" I've used before and can be set up with both time or distance. I think I need to push myself harder with speed. I'll try…
  • Thank you. I should have said my intervals on the treadmill. I don't have a track I can use with regularity.
  • I physically can't run 7 days a week because of my work schedule and have zero desire to not take a day off rom running to enjoy my bicycle each week. I am running around 12-15 miles once a week done around 90 seconds slower than my 5K/10K paces, and my 6.5 run is done at about 20 seconds slower than race pace. I will try…
  • I was supposed to do a long run today of 1:40:00. Made it 45 minutes with the heat index at 98 (plus it was sunny and I run in a park that has a ton of mulch that holds moisture and you can see the steam rising from it). Could not keep my HR below 180 so I stopped and walked. Others were doing fine. I keep pushing myself…
  • I trust my Fitbit within 200 calories per day. I am very active and at 119 pounds, but close around 2600 per day. Active job and I'm a runner.
  • It's actually called "Challenge an Activity".
  • Runtastic Pro has a ghost option. I carry my phone in my hand but it will give audio feedback if you're failing behind or if you're ahead.
  • I've used Runtastic Pro for 5 years. I don't sync it to MFP and use my Fitbit for syncing instead. I'm happy with it and I like the audio feedback. There are tons of screen settings- space for 4 items. I use distance, time, average pace, and current pace.
  • I'll check out the groups in my area. I live in a metro area and riding on the streets is not something I feel comfortable with right now. I'm nervous about group rides because I don't know any etiquette associated with them. But I guess that really is my only option when I am home right now.
  • I buy all my non-perishables at Walmart.com and have them shipped to my condo. I don't have a car, so it saves having to carry so much back from the grocery store and it's super cheap. I buy bathroom items, TP, PT, cat food and litter, and things like crackers, Peanut Butter, Gatorade, etc. It's free 2-day shipping for…
  • I have these and they charging port corroded with rust. I can only assume it's caused by my profuse sweating. I also had to tuck the hard pieces into my sports bra straps because it hurt too much bouncing on my collar bone.
  • I am NOT a people person one bit. However, that is my issue. I'd never in a million years say something to someone because I don't want to be around them. It's a "public" gym, not their own private workout facility. At the gym, I am there to gain fitness and burn calories. I'm not there to intentionally tick someone off or…
  • I aim for 50C/30F/20P but end up with 50/35/15
  • Thanks for the tips. I'll buy one and see what I can do. It's our condo swimming pool so I have to be somewhat careful and not in the way with whatever I decide to rig.
  • Underarm side cleavage for me too. I don't know how much more fat I can lose, but I'll keep at it starting Wednesday of next week. (Doing my A race of the year on the 4th- can't be in too much of a deficit while I'm training).
  • Here is a photo. It sits in holes on the pool deck.
  • Does anyone have a recommendation for one that can be attached to a pool ladder? Or can the one above that attaches to the lanes be used on a ladder? Thx.
  • Calories are food budgets in my opinion. Sadly, many individuals have little working knowledge on personal finance and healthy weight management. I absolutely think children should have a basic understand of the balance of calories in vs calories out just like they should be taught basic income and expenditures. But I also…
  • I make time without exception. But I'm lucky whereas I have a job that keeps me somewhat active, I walk to the train for my commute, I walk to the store because I don't have a car. I live across the street from the park and enjoy running 5 days per week. I can't stand sitting still except for when I'm eating. I eat and…
  • I travel a lot for work but I weigh and log every day that I am home. My weight fluctuates between 117-122. I've just realized that's what happens with me- I'm sure traveling makes that spread larger than what someone else may experience but it has allowed me to accept that's my "normal". Above 122 and I'll eat better for…
  • I consume on average 200g of sugar per day. I'm 118, 5'4", with measurements of 33x23x34. I also wear a 00 in ladies and can fit into 14 and 16s in girls. But I am VERY VERY active. Run, I do t have a car, I take stairs, have a job that keeps me on my feet moving, and I enjoy things like swimming, golf, tennis. Coworkers…
  • I'm a huge believer in CICO for the most part. When I drink at home, I weigh my wine or vodka and count it towards my daily allotment. But alcohol being a sedative, it slows me down and I can enjoy sitting for hours with a few drinks in me. So my CO decrease even though I'm accounting for the CI. Put a zero calorie…
  • I don't know if it's HIIT but I warm up for 1.5 miles at 9:00/mile, then I do anywhere between 8-12 intervals of 1/4 at 6:45/mile followed by 1/8 at 10:30ish/mile. 1.5 cool down.
  • I am 118 pounds I just eat what my FitBit says but would generally say 25 per mile biked, 50 per mile walked, and 75 per mile ran before I got the FitBit. Seems to be a generally accurate way for me to estimate my expenditure at my weight.
  • I wash my hair every day. If I shower Morning and night, it is washed 2x a day. I swim in chlorine and color it and it's healthy. I couldn't even begin to feel clean without washing it.
  • I did a 4/1 run walk interval for the 2 hours and was fine. Heart rate stayed below 160 on average and the 1 minute walk allowed me to drink enough during the run. I normally run earlier in the day but I had to change my work schedule this week for a family event next week and could only work an overnight shift. I was able…
  • Thanks. I'll just start today off with a 2/1 run walk interval attempt and see how it goes. My next race is only a 10K and is still 6 weeks away so I'm sure getting out there with and just putting some time in on my legs and heart is better than nothing. I like to log about 35-40mpw; I'm at 22.5 this week plus today's…
  • I drink Gatorade too. 40oz yesterday and a few extra stops at the water fountains along the way. Still came home with a 2.5lb water deficit. I've always been a decent sweater, even during my winter runs in NY but this southern heat is crazy and it's not even humid where I am this week.
  • Yes. It's just this week is a bad schedule for me. My HR was around 185 for my run yesterday and I was struggling to stay hydrated despite slowing my pace to 90 seconds slower than what I intended to run at. I know the long run is important but I don't want to end up dead out there either.
  • The last 10K I did was also a 5K run. They awarded 1st place in the 10K to a 5K finisher. I came in 2nd but got a 3rd place medal. They corrected the website but I'm bummed about my award. Completely understand your frustrations and I'm sorry this happened. I only brought it to the attention of the race director with proof…
