  • I think it just depends on a lot of factors. Mental Health, prior levels of activity, current priorities. Some might be too stressed worried about the pandemic to workout, some may workout more because they are stressed and working out is the one thing they can control. Also with people being stuck inside, especially those…
  • Hi! Maybe post this in the Losing weight thread may get you more answers...but my tips would be just to keep tracking your food as honestly as possible. The closer you get to goal weight is usually the hardest I think from a mental aspect. Use a food scale rather than measuring cups/spoons if you aren't already. But pretty…
  • Oh really? I've been doing it three times, after each meal.
  • I've definitely had digestion a couple of times.
  • Thanks for the input! That makes me feel more at ease. Makes a lot of sense because 30 minutes only to eat all day is insane lol
  • Of course not...which is why I put the word in quotes.
  • I'm no scientist or anything but while it sounds like a good idea, I'm kind of wary of it. I say that based off my experience of going from a weight loss mode to a maintenance mode. My calories for weight loss was approx. 1450/day and my maintenance cals are approx. 1930. When I decided to do maintenance, I just switched…
  • I use to be obese and lost about 120lbs. I live a certain lifestyle now where I am more active and pay attention to what I eat, how much I move, etc. I want to find someone that is going to want to do more than go eat somewhere. I want to find someone who takes care of themselves just as much or better than I do. Now with…
  • Besides seconding what has already been said, maybe looking at it in a different way. Meaning, of course you want to lose all you regain but focus on making healthy habits for life, put less focus on losing x amount of pounds in x amount of time. If you do the right things long enough, you'll get where you want to be. I…
  • My stats are similar except I'm 5'5. I workout 3-4x a week and aim for 10k every day. MFP is set to lightly active and gave me 1930ish for maintaining. I didn't gain weight for the 2 months that I ate this way. I usually don't eat back calories to account for logging error. Only tried it for 2 months though because I…
  • I started at 264lbs but my breasts were a size 38A...I am 149lbs now, and my breasts look like socks with tennis balls in them :( But every body is different, and hopefully that was just my experience. Oh, and I'm 29. So maybe being 10 years younger will help as well.
  • If you aren't trying to lose weight I would eat at maintenance and concentrate on heavy lifting, with minimal cardio. If you want to put on more muscle, you will have to be in a caloric surplus while lifting heavy. Look into body recomposition.
  • Add more things that are dense. Like avocado, nut butters. Cook your food in more oils. Things like that where you won't feel like you're eating a lot, but calorie wise you are. Drink full fat milk. I like Pescience Protein Powders, they blend well, and are low carb, low sugar and lower calorie (Approx. 110-120…
  • I'm on my cycle as I type this. I have EXTREMELY heavy periods. I work out 4x/week period or not. I just change the focus. They say movement helps with cramps. I don't have cramps per se, I just feel gross and don't like moving when I'm on my cycle. I just change my focus for the workout that week. Like I definitely won't…
  • I've been lurking since OP had posted. Having education and experience in mental health, I would suggest not continuing to explain the opposition to set point theory or trying to get the OP to see that she isn't being attacked. I'm no expert OP, but I hope your therapists are doing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with you. I…
  • Second, third-ing, and fourth-ing what everyone is saying. But also. Heard someone on a show say that protein bars are just candy bars in gym clothes. LOL But whole foods is where you should be getting most of your nutrition from. Not quick fixes like pre-made frozen food, or bars. I bet you (the O.P) would feel more…
  • I go after work, 5:30-7:30. I like it, serves it's purpose. Not too crowded, I can usually use the machine/equipment I want when I want or its no big deal to get on something else until that one is free. I wouldn't say that Planet Fitness has "trainers" per se. More like staff that shows small groups how to use the…
  • Name: Cory Age: 29 Height: 5'5 Total weight lost: 105 Time it took to lose: 1 year 8 months :/ How long in maintenance: 1 1/2 months Maintenance weight range: 158-165 Average weight recorded from 2018 (12 months): Still in weight loss mode during 2018. averaged 178lbs Average weight recorded from January: 162.5 Week of...…
  • Pescience Protein tastes great to me in any flavor. You can get them online, or at a Vitamin Shoppe (if you have those). They mix really well, and you can bake with it too. They make good pancakes, and tastes great in oatmeal. Low sugar, lower calorie (120 cal/scoop on average), and about 24g protein.
  • You should stop losing weight according to whatever you are comfortable with unless medically told you need to lose more. BMI charts are based on populations not individual. I am at my goal weight of 160 at 5'5 but that is also considered overweight. I don't think you have to base your personal goal on anything other than…
  • Ok, I see it now. I went back and compared the numbers from work out days vs. rest days and that explains the fluctuations. :| Bit of a dense moment for a second.
  • I think it's separate. I thought it may be the fitbit, but sometimes MFP will register 0 calories from exercise and still will increase the protein macros. So I'd imagine if I didn't earn any extra calories that I wouldn't "earn" any extra protein. I haven't looked closely at carbs or fats, but if my protein goes up…
  • The best way to combat that is to plan what you're meals are. I pre-log as much as possible. Also, bouncing off what @SummerSkier said....it does sound like you've been at maintenance for awhile. So, you're logging may not be as good as you think if you are not losing still like you mentioned. I'd suggest tightening up you…
  • Maintenance is a huge mind***k to me. We spend all these months/years in a calorie deficit then all of a sudden plug in maintenance mode into the "calculator" and it gives what feels like an exorbitant amount of calories. I went from 1450 cal/day and it told me to eat 2,010 cal/day. I couldn't imagine doing that without…
  • I feel you. The scale is definitely a mindf*** sometimes. Maybe only weigh yourself occasionally? Says the person who obssessively weighs every morning. lol But the important thing is physically, there's obviously a difference. :)
  • That your friends will make passive aggressive comments about how you better be careful about gaining the weight back if they see you eat "junk food," despite the fact that they put 0 effort into controlling their weight whatsoever and wonder why they are so overweight when they eat in a caloric surplus 7 days out of the…
  • I don't see why not, though I've never attempted. I always eyeball the water. But if I had a gun to my head, I would say about 40g of water. I just add a little, stir and then if it's still too thick add a little more.
  • I would follow the previous mentioned recipes if those calories work for you. I use the following for 1 serving of pancakes. Usually makes enough batter for 2 medium sized pancakes. 1 scoop of protein powder 5g of baking powder 46g of egg whites discretionary amount of water. Mix the powders and egg whites together, then…
  • Well, I will be the sole deviator in saying that I do have cheat days from time to time. If my weight loss is in a plateau for a while and I know my logging is 100% accurate then I will have a cheat day. I usually just eat what I want/crave and it ends up being right at or just barely over maintenance calories. And I do…
  • A good coffee is any that you can fit into your calorie deficit. I usually make my coffee at home w/ just stevia and those little tubs of creamer. But if I am at Starbucks I will get a grande skinny mocha with almond milk for 130 calories. or I get an Americano with Almond milk and 2 pumps of sugarfree cinnamon dolce or…
