  • 6 in total. Four pads for the feet (toes, heel) and two for the hands. Again, thanks for the kind words everybody, let's keep on largerlosing!
  • For reference, since the last Inbody scan shown in that paper is from 11-30-21, I also found that one to show more of the progress going further back. And there is (sadly) more, up to 178.8kg, I don't have those here in the house tho. :s
  • Ah, many thanks for the kind words guys... <3 Yeah, I've been going to the gym for quite a while, but I really started taking it seriously from the start of 2024 and on. Right till then, I think I was more like..moving the weights around lol. :s I found in January a couple of channels on yt (RP + JN) and after inhaling a…
  • Had my 6 month maintenance check-up today, good results. Here are the DEXA (first page) and InBody scans. Managed to gain some muscle this time too! Onwards.
  • Salutations from sunny Greece! Went to my mothers for dinner this Sunday (Orthodox Lent still in effect), wanted to share. I made a quick shrimp pasta and she had her incredible eggplant pie! For dessert, early September Strawberries just came out. Got some from the village, so we made a quick salad. Just apple cider…
  • Yesterday was a little rough...too much food really. So today breakfast + lunch is some steamed veggies with a toast. Still 800 calories, but a lot of food too. A light dinner and I'm done for the day...C:
  • Merry Christmas everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. We went to my brother's today, it's been a while. My brand new nephew came out of the oven a fortnight ago so I wanted to share...isn't he a cutie??! C: Now...business time. My SIL made Greco Negro with wild rice and baby potatoes Mom made a Pomegranate-chicken salad I…
  • ...Speaking of pureed food... o:) Salutations from rainy Athens! I hope everyone is doing fine! Sorry about the lack of interaction, been somewhat boringly cruising along in maintenance for a while. Boring is good! It's rather appropriate to come back..with a food picture lol, so I wanted to share some fava I made today…
  • Was out for a quick visit man. Just a couple of days. T_T My mothers' village is in Euboia and called Triada. It's not on the seaside, but somewhat close (20 minutes or so by car). Some shots I took from April and now. The tavern is on the seashore a couple of villages over, in Artaki.
  • Went to the village yesterday, and took some family for a quick Ouzo in a tavern nearby. It's been a while. :) Now a weekend of salads to compensate... :'( :D
  • Here is an interesting one from Reuters. https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/most-patients-using-weight-loss-drugs-like-wegovy-stop-within-year-data-show-2023-07-11/ Exclusive: Most patients using weight-loss drugs like Wegovy stop within a year, data show July 11 (Reuters) - Only about one-third of…
  • Kidding. XD Exercise is a pretty good de-stress pill for me, but also something that I have seen working in the past is to simply sit down and think it over for five minutes or so. If I find out that I am not really hungry but just bored/stressed/irritated...I then decide to not indulge on it any more. Since that is what I…
  • Don't get stressed. That will be 50€.
  • Confirming. :D Also, you should try out some katiki if you can find it over there..much tastier than cottage (not that cottage is bad per se)!
  • Yesterday we ate at my mothers. She made a bolognese with whole wheat pasta (was great), ...and I brought over a batch of my uncles' ram I slow cooked in a crock pot. It was falling off the bone at that point. The food was great, but for some weird reason I see salads in my future for the rest of the week.. :D
  • Yes, because we don't tend to use flour, cream or butter to thicken our sauces. Our definition here is that of a stew made with sauteed components (at most times, meat), with a lemony or avgolemono sauce. :)
  • Oh man, that sounds delicious Athjade!! Question, this is the first time I hear about coconut aminos. Is that close.similar to soy sauce in taste?
  • It was glorious really, too much food though.. ...way too much :D Well, it's a pretty standard fricassee/stew recipe, only with mushrooms instead of meat. From a previous post here about what to put in, : I went with Endive/Escarole (different from chicory), lettuce, sorrel and dill on this one. No egg either, just the…
  • Hello gang! It's been a while. :p Been chugging along on a slight deficit for the last month, since Easter in the village was a little brutal. Back to the expected range now, so I'm a happy camper. B) Got some wild mushrooms from the village (we visited a local producer that is near), so made a fricassee with them. Yummy,…
  • New report says worst heart-healthy diets include keto, Paleo diets
  • One of the main downsides the volume eating method has - which I'm kinda following together with the Med diet - is that it is extremely easy to eat vast amounts of any food without physical limitations. I put this to the test a week ago, strictly for science purposes. :D It didn't go well. After 3 Xlarge pizzas and…
  • That looks to be around 1500kcal or thereabouts.
  • How creamy or "frothy" your αυγολέμονο looks depends on three things. 1. How much of it you put in your stew. 2. What greens you use there. 3. How you put it in your stew. In this instance I went with one egg, so it does not look too creamy. Separate the white and beat it, put the yolk with the lemon and beat it. Add them…
  • I think it is a glitch in the matrix. Going to the plural form (many ραδίκια) gives you radishes for some reason. But when you enter the singular (one ραδίκι) it gives you chicory! And when you go and reverse-translate radishes into Greek...it gives you the correct term (ραπανάκια) Man, that's weird! :D
  • I understand. Each person is certainly different, it would be extremely difficult for me to curb my carb consumption (I have lost my excess weight following a 55%+ carb Mediterranean diet, essentially eating what I grew up with here in Greece). I tried keto in the past and found it completely disagreeable as well as non…
  • Of course, you can put pretty much everything you like! For example, a well known combo is lettuce with spring onions and a little dill. Sorrel, spinach, leeks, chard, hartwort, collard, purple amaranth etc etc can also be used, we tend to go with what is in season (or simply what we forage when going out for a walk).
  • Judging from myself, if/when you stop the drug, the hunger comes back, with a vengeance. Well, at least for me it did. When starting out my doctor prescribed a similar drug for a six month period in 2021 (liraglutide - VICTOZA, daily injections) and while there were no side effects when taking it, the following three…
  • Nice to hear you liked those turnips, they really go well in salads! They are also very good mashed, as PAV said. You WILL need some butter and a little grated nutmeg to really make it work tho. Got some fresh ραδίκια (I google this as common chicory in english) from the village, so I had to make a Fricassee stew with them…
  • It's gone, done, don't look for it! Goneee :D Meanwhile, on the Balkan front, had another maintenance appointment & BIA. Results were good! Seems like I've been pretty stable these last three months. Also, no muscle loss this time. I'll take it! <3
  • A greek salad for today. I'm out of feta cheese, and the next can I have ordered won't be ready till late April (we get it from a relative that herds around 100 sheep, and makes feta every 4 months or so). So as a stopgap, I grated some XynoMizithra on top for good measure, and was surprised to find it fit rather well! :)…
