  • Oh, yes. Since I've had to drop quite a bit of weight, I've literally had to rearrange my priorities. I go out to eat very rarely, I've emptied the house of any junk/snack food. I have issues with eating at night, eating anything I can, so that's why I did that. Just have to look at your priorities, how much you can…
  • I did pretty well on the old WW, but gained on the new plan. So I quit there-and since I got back into exercise, a friend kindly referred me to MFP. I've lost more in 2 months than I ever did on WW. And it's free. Another thing that I noticed about WW-they don't emphasize exercise enough. There's just a box you check if…
  • You look absolutely divine. I'm planning on losing about 120 lbs myself. I'm already down 18, and I'm not stopping till I get there! #nosleeptillbrooklyn
  • I'm about to sound like the spelling jerk over here, but does it annoy anyone else that people don't LOSE weight, they LOOSE it? Totally different meanings, totally different words? And I'm at 1250 a day, but I have issues reaching 1200 quite a bit. I literally forget to eat. *shrug
  • If I order chinese food, I order steamed veggies and tofu, sauce on the side. And I usually ask for brown rice, as well-they give you cup of the stuff, and you don't need anymore than that. It's easy to go low cal in a chinese spot.
  • I highly recommend it! Then again, I'm biased, I'm just happy as anything with this class. I'm going to try to get it in 3 times a week out my 5 day workout week.
  • I used to attend Bikram yoga (which is a series of poses done over 90 minutes in a closed room, temperature not exceeding or below 110 degrees). I was told by several instructors that you burn 500-600 calories in a 90 minute period.
  • Stay away from that scale, girl! All it'll do is bring you down. Go by how you feel, how your clothes feel. Eat healthy, stay within your calories, and your body will change.
  • Love the nuvaring. hope you don't have an aversion to touching yourself down there, because you'll obviously be all up in your junk once a month. If I had insurance, I'd be back on that in a heartbeat.
  • Yes, they do! I was at the gym and this trainer came up to me and asked me if I had ever worked out before. I kinda laughed at it, but, whatever, I guess.
  • I think it's ridiculous to even insinuate that a child is ugly. Who would do that? Nobody. So I will continue to compliment a kid's outfit, and everyone I know loves to hear that. I have seriously never heard that you shouldn't do that. Woah, man.
  • What's wrong with complimenting a kid's outfit? If I had a kid, they'd always be dressed in supercute outfits, and I love compliments on outfits I put together. Doesn't mean that your kid is ugly, #toosensitive
  • You know what, I've said that to people, and it's not a backhanded compliment in the least. It just means I think you look nice, and I'm saying it. This awful woman i used to work with really got mad at me when she really dressed up one day in a great suit, and I complimented her on it. She jumped down my throat, like,…
  • Whenever I start going through it-I get myself up and go directly to the gym, do not stop, do not pass go-straight to the gym to sweat it out. I walk out of there with a brand new lease on life.
  • I went out for my birthday, and I knew I'd go over-so I got into a really intense spin class and some yoga that day to help curb the overages. On my actual birthday, I had a piece of pecan pie coming to me, so I added it in my diary, and hit the gym hard core to cover the pie and anything else I ate that day.
  • I do. I was on medication for a little while-I'm also bipolar, and the amount of lithium I was taking affected my thyroid. So I was always being sent over to the endocrinology clinic. One day, I got fed up with waiting, and dropped off of taking my meds. Surprise surprise-I gained weight so fast, even though I was going to…
  • I did once. He was horrible. He printed out a copy of the food pyramid and gave it to me.
  • My birthday is coming up next week, and I'm also going to get indian food to celebrate it. The way I see it, it's my special day, and I'm not going to pig the hell out, but I'm also not going to limit myself. It's only one day-enjoy it. I doubt you'll be eating an entire cake on your own, right? And happy birthday, if I…
  • Tonight, I steamed some nice brown rice-and combined it with a dish that I'd made earlier- Sautee half a block of tofu with garlic and onion Throw in some steamer pack of vegetables cut up some kale and spinach and mix until wilted and yum yum yum. i also added some mushrooms and tomatoes. I'm on a kick lately that I don't…
  • If you're really into popcorn, invest in an air popper. It's $30 at any Target or something like that. To flavor it, I usually spray the kernels with Pam and put some salt or nutritional yeast on it. Delicious. Also, this might be too much for you right now, as you're just getting started, but I love my juicer so much I…
  • Are you bipolar? I am-they won't put me on an anti-depressant, though. So I'm just on mood stabilizers, anti anxiety stuff and anti psychotics. Seroquel to be specific, and man is that a weight gainer. Certainly helped put me in the position I'm in now. But it's alright, I love MFP, and it's really eye opening to see what…
  • Love this post. It made me realize that I shouldn't be exercising as hard as I do if I can't net at least 1200 calories, which is hard for me to do. I'd rather eat a little less, get my heart pumping with a good run, some time on the elliptical, and lose it slowly. Again. love this post.
  • I've been a vegetarian since I was 17 years old. First did it to be different, but as I researched the subject, I came across animal rights, as one would. I also had the opportunity to visit a chicken slaughterhouse, and it made my so sick-I can still remember the smell of blood in the air. It takes a special kind of…
  • I remember when my mother passed on-I was 28, a size 6, vegan-I kinda flipped. I started drinking so much beer, started eating anything non meat related in sight, and just sat on my *kitten*, when I wasn't battling horrible insomnia. Looking back on this, I wish I had kept up with my regime. My mother dying and the…
  • Good question. I probably shouldn't worry about it, since it's only once in a blue-but we're going to Indian for my birthday. Still want to make good decisions, though.
  • Loooooove the gym. I love all the weight equipment they have, it's like a fun little maze that I lift weights in. And the treadmills, the ellipticals, the bikes, the stairmasters, oh my. Don't forget those spinning and yoga classes. Love it. I can't recommend the gym any stronger!
  • Oh yeah, I've been down with this idea. I've decided I don't need the scale to tell me I'm losing weight-my clothes getting tighter or looser. No need to obsess over numbers-I once dropped about 80 pounds without once looking at the scale, until I was in a size 8-and then I was like, Whoah! I've got a long way to go, and…
  • My thyroid went in the toilet after taking too much Lithium. I'm bipolar. So not only does my hypothyroidism affect my nasty mood swings, it put an insane amount of weight on me. And wow, was I craving food. So I finally got it checked again, after not being on meds for a year or so, and am on 137 mcgs a day. I have energy…
  • I just had my first AM workout in a year this morning. It felt great to get up and get it in-plus, I found a yoga class that started at 10. I'd already gotten an hour of cardio in, plus a half hour of lifting. I'm not gonna lie, I took a nap this afternoon, but it sure feels good knowing I got it in early!
  • i'm a vegetarian, so I can't take Omega 3's, most of them come from fish. So I take flaxseed oil. I've been told it has the same effects.
