Thanks Liz. You're right. I hope your Dr. can help you too.

You guys are great! Thanks for the suggestions. My symptoms have not changed. I'm still exhausted, cold, and just icky in general. I will call my doctor to figure this out.

41. Right on the cusp.

I had the same problem, until I bought Harbinger gloves. I don't know the model or anything, but I would go to a sports shop and try them on. I spent about 15 minutes putting them on and walking over to the dumbbells to see how they worked. For me, I didn't like the ones with more padding on the palm. I just didn't feel…

Congratulations to you. You have found success and you should celebrate that! Losing 50 pounds in 2 months - that's extreme. Knowing how much your metabolism can get messed up from that, I can understand how you felt trapped monitoring calories. I think everyone on EMLW wants to be healthy - inside and out - and it sounds…

Wow! Wow! Wow! Your face now is totally different from your before face. Look at your photos again. You've done great work and it really really REALLY does show. Congrats!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this post.

Yes, yes, and yes. I've started lifting heavy weights and cutting back on cardio so I can lose inches and not worry about my weight. It's going OK, but It's really hard to not be a slave to the scale.
-
Amazing progress! You should be so proud! Congrats to you!
-
I was trying to decide to go to the gym or grab some pizza. You just helped me make that decision. YOU LOOK AWESOME!!!!
-
Wow! That's really great for one month. Congrats!
-
Sounds like a great plan. Let me know how it goes.

First, congrats on your success! Dropping body fat, inches, and pounds is really great! Couple of things you may consider. TDEE is your total daily energy expenditure. If you eat your TDEE, theoretically, you should maintain your weight. Remember your TDEE is adjusted by your activity level. Even if you didn't go to the…

Wow, wow, wow! :noway: I can't believe that's the same person. Congratulations on your success!

That's really great! Congrats!

Heidi, I don't know if I can diagnose you, but I do have a few comments that you may have previously read on the boards only because it seems to work for others. 1. You're lucky you started EM2WL at the beginning of your weight loss. That means that you did not have to do a reset at the beginning. 2. Please give yourself…

YES!! Congrats!

I'm not sure what your original activity estimate was, but it looks to me like you're now between moderate to strenuous activity level. Maybe redo your numbers based on your current activity level and see what you come up with. Also, I know you said the scale hasn't moved, but have you lost inches? Are you clothes feeling…

I don't know if any program will completely fit your needs, but I think you can modify any strength training to fit your needs.

There are others that do something similar to this. They take one day a week off, but keep daily calories at their 15% cut for the other 6 days.
-
First, congrats on maintaining for 6-8 weeks while eating higher calories. Remember that is really awesome. Maybe your activity level is higher than you estimated. I say that because I bet your first thought is to lower your calories. But, you probably should do just the opposite. What are your weekly workouts?

Just to clarify, you need to make sure that you net more than your BMR. For you that means if your TDEE cut (1781) minus exercise is less than your BMR (1436), then you need to eat more. Another way to look at it is if you exercise more than 356 (1781-1436), then you need to eat more so that your net calories are over your…

Really good point. I never did a full reset, and I'm starting to regret that now.
-
That's great news! Congrats!

First, welcome to the group. Please review the stickies and the videos at the top of the message boards. Regarding your questions, it is recommended that you eat at 15% cut to your TDEE. So for you, that would be 1700. If your net calories (food-exercise) go below 1385 (BMR), then eat at least enough to reach your BMR.…

First, congrats on losing 190 pounds!!! That's really amazing! Here's one for you. :drinker: Anyway, I think you were asking about calorie cycling. Basically, I think that is OK, but I'm surprised that they have you drop below your BMR. In general, that is not recommended here, but you should do what works for you.
-
OK. I see your BMR on fit2fat as 1592, which is about the same as on scooby (1586). I would initially use the TDEE-15% from scooby, which is 2090 calories using moderate activity. If after 6-8 weeks your weight stalls, then you can increase to the cut shown on Fat2fit (2223). So, in MFP, change your daily calorie goals to…
-
Almost, but not quite. Your goal is correct at 1767. But you need to look to the right and see your Net calories (food - exercise). If that is less than 1512, then you need to eat more. For today, you need to eat more than 1767, because your net calories is 1481 (1767-286). So because of the exercise, you need to eat at…

First, welcome to EM2WL! That's your decision. Most people are at a 15% cut , but you can always go up later. Moderate activity I think the best thing you can do for yourself is get a heart rate montior that includes a chest strap. I think you can get a basic one for around 30. Please do that so you don't have to guess.

Check out the stickies at the beginning of this board. There are also a few videos that may help you decide how to proceed. I look at two calculators to determine TDEE and BMR - http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/ and http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ Hope this helps.
