  • While I don't understand what some of your food is, I agree that seeing a doctor to have the issue checked out is a good idea as you don't seem to be eating foods that would cause acid reflux. Even if a doctor figures out you have acid reflux (or some other issue) you don't have to take a prescription for it, but finding a…
  • How long til you turn 40?
  • Scales vary by a lot, but a stone is a big difference. My scale on stones setting still tells me lbs too. Also I wouldn't assume the one at the gym is more accurate. More people use it & mess with it. It's hard to say which is accurate.
  • Can you post what you ate? I'm curious to see what foods add up to that many calories.
  • Not sure if it really counts as "food" -sucralose.
  • Holidays, parties, and buffets I use the same method - take pictures of my plate and log it later. Not the most accurate method, but it helps me to remember everything. And now because of Instagram, etc people don't think it's totally crazy if I take a picture of my food. ETA- I don't go overboard, I still try to stay in…
  • The reason all those herbal diet supplements say that ephedrine has been used safely in China for thousands of years is because they use it for allergy/respiratory issues, they don't use it for weight loss.
  • I agree people have many different uses of the word binge that vary from the clinical criteria. Also Binge Eating Disorder wasn't officially a disorder until the DSM -V which just came out in May this year. It wasn't it's own thing in the DSM-IV, though it is mentioned as something to look into further. BED was a subset of…
  • I am ignoring most of what has been posted here and am choosing to only address the issue of 1200 calories or below being ok for anyone. While I am average height I have adult family members under five foot. So I do think there are people that can safely eat under 1200 calories and there are people who would be beyond…
  • According to my fitbit (and some other sources) I burn 16 calories every 15 minutes by simply being alive. Which is 64 an hour so in 8 hours that would be 512, so I'm guessing that 480 is just your being alive calories burned. That is why MFP asks if you are sedentary or active. It already includes those in your base…
  • I love the healthier version of green bean casserole that consists of green beans with a little butter on them and maybe some bacon bits. Leaving off the nasty crunchy onions and disgusting cream of mushroom soup makes it not only healthier but edible! And I disagree with the post that says you lose a lot by making…
  • 145-150. It's the least I have ever weighed as an adult and I had 6 pack abs at that weight. I tend to have a lot of muscle and when I have had body fat % testing done (hydrostatic, not just with calipers) it looked like that range would be what I could realistically get to without losing too much muscle.
  • I work in the birth field and only started hearing about push gifts or presents in the last year, I've been to about 200 births and only heard 1 mom say she was getting a gift, and only a few others mentioned it, but it was as more of a funny thing they heard. I think it really depends on the mom as to if she would…

  • Have you looked into church carnivals? In my area there are some churches that have community events on Halloween. I don't know what kind/if they have a religious aspect to them or not, but they advertise as being family friendly for all ages.
  • Have you heard of podrunner? Good music & it changes based on the C25K schedule. Different music each week & it's free. http://www.djsteveboy.com/podrunner.html
  • It said 14 - 1/2 cup servings. I was basing it on the 14, not the volume it would make. And with basic things like milk & sugar I don't think there would be as much variation as they say. I wish I could find some sugar and heavy cream and whole milk with less calories but they don't exist. Well they do but then they aren't…
  • I've had goal clothes before, it worked well for me.
  • Yeah I was thinking the same thing. There are some good tips, just be careful not to overdo it...
  • Franks!
  • I don't remember the exact model of my Polar hrm, but I burn about 500-600 cals per hour doing Zumba in a class. Haven't tried it with DVDs.
  • I didn't get that far. I read "I am referring only to aesthetic-oriented, steady-state cardio. For all you performance goal folks and those interested in cardio for general health, shoo. This article isn’t for you " And stopped reading...
  • I have issues with blisters too. I've been told to try different socks & body glide on my feet. Current blisters just went away last week & haven't had time to try either of these ideas. But I went for an impromptu 2.5mi walk last week and had a crappy pair of Keds and no socks and didn't have any issues. Usually I would…
  • Actually it was a request, not a command since it started with please so I chose to ignore the request. Don't read this! would have been instructions...
  • I'm a pear shape and 80 lbs took me from size 20 pants to size 12. I can fit into a 10 if the pants are made for people with hips. And I lose dress sizes easily IF it has a high waist and then fits loose from there. Also I am less pear shaped than I was when I started. Will likely be that shape forever, but it isn't as…
  • My hot yoga class isn't Bikram style. It is "power" yoga so I use that. I don't remember if I made the exercise for myself or found it on here but it shows up when I search for it. at 165lbs it says I burn @375 cals an hour...

  • I know it's been said a number of times, but I'd go see a doctor. Changes in your cycle are common with weight loss but it is normally in the other direction - IE less period, not more...
  • It is based on -3500 cals = -1lb. Which regardless of what anyone else thinks, I do not believe that is 100% how things work in the human body. There are other factors that can influence our rate of loss or gain.
  • I love the look on your face in the after pics! Much more confident!
  • I log everything. A month from now I may not remember it and then I would be confused on why I appear to have not eaten poorly but gained weight. The tools on MFP aren't very helpful if you don't use them...
