  • Watch 'Food Matters' It's a documentary (it's on Netflix) about food and medication and supplements. It has a whole thing about depression and taking Niacin (a natural supplement). I have taken it for post partum and it was helpful and doesn't cloud your memory. just make sure you get the Non-Flushing kind otherwise you…
  • Seriously, this whole post is hilarious! ... and informative ...
  • I played soccer until I was 4.5 months pregnant. After about month 3 I had to move to defence so that I wasn't running as much but you have to listen to your body. With my first I was able to play and run with no discomfort until 6 months, but now (number 3) I had to quit b/c I was starting to feel a bit crampy in my lower…
  • I find the settings on MFP to be low on the protein side. You can customize your daily totals so that more calories come from the protein and less from carbs (or whatever you want). You don't want to go too far one way but making little adjustments to fit you better is fine.
  • I always have protien for breakfast, and try to eat high protien/low carb. The problem is not hunger so much as self control. I've been tested for gluten intolerance so that's all good, I think I'm just overloading my system. thanks for the suggestions guys. Also, I'm so freaking sick of chicken breasts for lunch and…
  • At my skinniest I was 130 and it was so hard to maintain. Not only eating wise but my body couldn't sustain itself, my periods stopped for over 2 years and I was very lethargic. The dr. told me to gain 15 lbs and I felt much better. So this time I'm shooting for 145-150. It also depends on your boney frame as well, I have…

  • Increace your protien intake and decreace your starchy carbs (like breads and rice and potatos etc.) I found that MFP recommended I hit more carbs in my day and less protien but it wasn't working for me. Also, if you are working out that much your body is going to want more protien to repair itself. Give it a try for a…

  • Oh man, don't rush it. Once they're moving that's it, they never stop!! enjoy being able to leave 'nice' things out for a little longer without little hands getting on them and don't worry about the crawling. my kids both crawled around 11 months and didn't walk until 15 months and 18 months. They figure it all out.

  • It's really going to depend on the type of calories you are taking in. If they are starches and carbs, yes you will gain. I'd start with increasing your protiens first and then uping the natural carbs like fruits and starchy veggies then lastly uping the breads etc. Do it slowly, not all at once and hopefully this will…
  • This happened to me before when i lost a lot of weight. I had low blood pressure and low iron. take an iron supplement of some kind, if that doesn't help after a week I would probably see the dr. since it could be something more serious or an infection of some kind.
  • yes it's true, you only need 100-300 extra calories. I found that with my first pregnacy I went overboard with the 'eating for two' but with the second one (they're 20mos apart) I was a little more aware that my pregnancy weight was hard to get off, and I didn't gain as much because I stuck with healthy foods. Eat when you…
  • I had a bad week last week too and I'm not on track for my 15 lbs by christmas. Time to step it up. I am going to wake up early (before the kiddies get up) and work out at least 2 more time this week and once on the weekend. I'm giving up eating in front of the tv...this is going to be a hard one. Hope everyone else is…
  • ok, so I'm on vacation all week but I'm still working on my goals. so, my goals this week are: i will - get out and be active in some way every day this week i will not - eat 'treats' all week with the exception of a piece of my son's b-day cake on wednesday. I am determined to still lose weight this week even though I'm…
  • so I haven't eated past 7pm all week but I've yet to do one push-up. tonight, I promise! I'm down a pound though so I'm staring out really well.
  • Is there an easier way to find this group other then looking through all of the topics under 'community'?? My goal is to lose 15 lbs by Christmas. My starting weight (this morning) is 180 so by Christmas I want to be 165. I'm going to give up eating after 7pm and I'm going to do push-up's everyday this week. Feel free to…
  • Alright, I'm in. I'm needing some serious support today and am so glad I looked on MFP instead of in the fridge. Good luck everyone!
  • I hear you! I refuse to buy anymore clothes, so here I am trying to lose weight so I can fit in the ones I already have in a box, packed away. good luck!
  • try the 17 day diet. It's super healthy for you and you see results right away! It's a good kick off for you and you can always adjust once you get the hang of it.
