  • You're not being a 'debbie downer', you are speaking the hard honest truth!!!!!! I've had one child and had hundreds of stretch marks and have loose skin. The fatter I am, the tighter the skin on my belly. The more weight I lose, the flappier my stomach gets. Lifting weights, eating right and drinking lots of water is not…
  • Feel free to add me, I've been around for a while, but have been really bad the better part of these 12 months!!!
  • I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you aren't eating over your daily allowance, you should be fine
  • fark, that's a hell of a lot of calories!!! *jealous* Seriously though, everything everybody has said, lots of nuts, avocado, olive oil and peanut butter. Shakes really are a good way to get it all in without feeling overly full.
  • Once again, why not? It's monitoring your heart rate which corresponds to calories burnt. My heart rate got up to 182 today doing barbell one legged squats and it definitely felt like it!!!
  • I've done pyramid programs before and found them very successful, especially for weight progression/PB's. I tend to use a pyramid program at least once a year (for around 6-8 weeks) to change things up a little.
  • I'm a kiwi, but living in Auz. Feel free to add me if you want
  • the trick is to just keep going and eventually you'll feel just as comfortable as they are. I'm literally the only female in the 'big boys part' of the gym 99% of the time and I don't care at all. Like a previous poster said, a huge chunk of the men lifting are doing it wrong anyway so their opinion of whether you should…
  • so yesterday we had 'Run Geelong' which was the 6kms. I did badly. To start off with, there were hills!!! Nobody mentioned anything about no god damn stinking farking hills. I find it hard enough to run on the flat, let alone adding in a bit more of an obstacle  All in all I probably only ran about 1.5kms. Quite…
  • I boil them or boil then mash. Not very exciting but then I mix them with chicken and either spinach or broccoli to really make them gourmet
  • Check out New Rules of Lifting for Women, is great for woman who have never lifted before and covers pretty much everything
  • So Sunday was the 4km run and while I didn't do as well as I would've liked to, I was still pleased with the effort I did make. Nearly ran the first 1km and in total I probably ran 50%. Biggest continual runs being at the start and the finish. Had sore archilles throughout, but being at the back with people who visibly…
  • Of course there are, but the op isn't to blame for encouraging them to eat next to nothing, she was just posting about her personal circumstances. I wore my hrm to bed one night, slept for around 7hrs and was surprised to find I'd 'burnt' 600+ calories, this would make my bmr around 1800. Everyone is different!!!!
  • So tonight I ran again!!! While I haven't been running on the road, I have been running on the treadmill at the gym. Cheating I know, but I'm allowed to cheat if its just me I'm cheating, right?? It was hard tonight and once again my best effort was at the end where it was more of a mental thing........as in I'm mental to…
  • I'm on a deficit (around 500 cals) and have no problems lifting heavy or feeling weak. Pb bench is 132lbs @ 3 reps too
  • Pity there's no entry for these mythical negative calories things you speak of. Last week when I entered broccoli, mfp cruelly entered calories!!! I clearly got ripped off
  • I don't normally pay too much attention to the weight unless I'm shooting for pb's. Have a look at your reps for each set too. I normally aim for 3x8, and want to be sure that the weight is heavy enough to be really having to dig deep on the last few. If you look at the likes of Kai Greene, he swears by focusing on form to…
  • Awesome videos. He's such an intense man, but loved how he reiterated that's its about training your mind then the body will follow. Can't wait to get to the gym now!!!
  • We'd say "I'm digging around in my purse" & "I'm cheering/going for"
  • I am really enjoying exercising with my son, he's 14 so is in the prime age for fitness, but its like we have a little truce when we exercise. We both take it seriously and listen to each other, him when I'm telling him about weight training and vs versa on the running.
  • Amen to that!!!
  • DITCH THE CARDIO. Your actual weight is fine, but if you want to get things firmer, you will need to lift heavy. And before you ask how heavy - it's whatever you can handle without hurting yourself. Cardio is great for your aerobic system, but if that's not what you are wanting (which is what you've said) you don't have a…
  • People read what they want to (most have said on here that they haven't read all the posts). I wouldn't bother with even replying to the ones that are offering an opinion on how much teenage boys eat and not believing you. I COMPLETELY believe that one boy can eat 20 bananas in a day - those who don't believe that don't…
  • Oh, I was going to suggest you bake, cakes etc? I bake a lot for my son, put aside a weeks worth, then freeze the rest and take them out day by day. He thinks they're treats too which is good
  • I hate to break it to you, but I dont think there is ANY WAY you are going to be able to stop them from eating. Much like teenage girls get moody, teenage boys eat. Period. There is nothing you can do to stop it. I only have one and have problems with my food bill and the amounts he eats. It sounds like you do everything…
  • my son and I have a tradition that we 'camp out' (matresses in the lounge, tv on all night) during Olympics. Even better this year my job is to monitor the Olympics streaming on tv - YAY!!!

  • basically it means someone like me, that weighs 72 kgs (158lbs) with a body fat % of 20 at 5 3" is always going to be regarded as 'overweight' on the BMI spectrum. Being in the 'healthy BMI' weight range is NOT my goal
  • It depends on what goals you've put in. If you've typed in that you want to lose 2lbs a week, to do that, you will need to eat under your BMR - it's all up to you how much each week you want to lose and what you put in your goals.
  • I have yet to lose anything in cup size from my chest as well. I've dropped 10% body fat over the last 10 months but gone from a 34E to a 32F/G. I'm thinking reduction......
