In the past I have logged things religiously, it is a habit that I got out of when life got very hectic. I also lost a little faith when I hit a plateau and no matter how strictly I logged, I couldn't get any more weight off. Honestly, I gave up. Now I know I want to restart again, however, I'm doing something different…

Good idea. I'll probably try that and the ankle weights too.

This is what I meant, and yes, I was able to squat and bench press with them today. Interesting thing about the deadlifts and PF. When I was doing them the other day, a staff member came over and helped me with my form. It must vary by gym, I think they're all independently owned. @SideSteel, this is somewhat true. I want…

Are you using a topical steroid in addition to the eczema lotion?

Question - what's in your homemade soap?

For those of you who use Cerave, which cream do you use? They make a few different types. As for Cerave's facial cleanser, I tried one with hydroulonic (sp?) acid in it and it burned so bad I had to go stick my face in the freezer. >_< I think I'll stick with witch hazel toner - the stuff I use is a blend of witch hazel…

On your butt? I had no idea trigger points could go that far down! Also, used my tennis ball and did some yoga stretches last night, that plus ibuprofen and tiger balm helped out immensely. Maybe I should just make an effort to stretch regularly throughout the day.

All good suggestions. I have spoken with my doctor about them, but they happen so infrequently I'd hesitate to go on medication if there's other things I can do to prevent them. Mostly, I think it's linked to all the knots in my shoulders. Seriously, it feels like marbles. Arditarose, can you post a link to the ball you…

Aww man, you are in my area but I am allergic! :( Breaks my heart that I can't, but I'll share this with some friends!

This. Also maybe an artsy activity, if you're both inclined, so you can do something "active" together.

:D

^^^ You and I need to be friends RIGHT NOW. Lol

And here I thought that a "thut" was just having a nice @$$. I have gotten quite a few (unsolicited and awkward) compliments on my thut in my day.

False. TPBM has a big fluffy cat.

My husband and I used to live at poverty level, and I started couponing and thru helped a lot, but it only does so much. We focused on a lot of dried foods, beans, rice, pasta, etc. I also got creative with cooking - example: I figured it how to make Rice-a-Roni for $0.21, as opposed to paying $1 for a box. If you know how…

What's the difference between Whole30 and just eating natural whole foods with whole grain carbs?

I live in Detroit metro and it drives me nuts. We've taken to dividing up a big tub of Oikos 2% plain into smaller cups and adding out own sweeteners/fruits etc.

False :-( TPBM likes 80's rock music.

My two cents - There's only one step to getting a bikini body: You put on a friggin bikini. You do not exist for the viewing pleasure of others. Wear what makes you feel good and quit "fat shaming" yourself. It's no one's business what you wear to where (I mean, don't stroll around nekkid, though, you'll get arrested.) In…

If you need to snack, snack on things like apples, veggies or oranges. They have high volume but low relative calories. Try to stay away from high calorie low volume stuff.

I'm a big wuss about running in cold weather, mainly because my ears would hurt if I ran when it was too cold. I spent $12 on a nice thermal headband that fully covered my ears, though, and that made it all the better. Just stick with it, I second all the above suggestions! And find some good music to go along with you,…

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll make a list and try them slowly :)

Good point. I think perhaps spreading prep out through the week might be easier on me and the DH. Monday, prep chicken breasts, Tuesday, make a soup, Wednesday, cut up veggies/blanch/freeze, etc. I seem to need to change my mindset - and treat food prep as something you just do everyday, like brushing your teeth or…

Actually, no, I wasn't getting enough sleep, and this is something I discovered a few months ago. I downloaded an app that tracks sleep using the accelerometer in my iPhone (the thing that can tell how you're holding the phone), and it showed that although I was in bed for 8 hours, I'd only really be sleeping for 6-ish.…

I DO have a food scale, and I measure by weight/grams/ounces. For things like the cream cheese (I was actually at Panera yesterday morning) they give you a tiny 2 oz thing and I used less than half by sight. I do measure things, though. I also use smaller bowls and smaller plates to give the illusion that I'm eating more.…

Wow, great suggestions and pointers. I do confess I have a sweet tooth, I just figured if I stay within my 1,600 calories it wouldn't much matter, that a calorie is a calorie. I know there are many schools of thought on that, though. I don't track sugar (like many of you have suggested) mainly because I'm not sure what…

I should clarify, I don't actually drink a whole lot of beer :) But it's one of those things I won't deny myself on a weekend night while hanging out with friends. I should really look up more veggie recipes. I get bored with the same stuff over and over... perhaps that's part of my problem. :/
