    I like museums, zoo, exhibitions of some type, festivals, markets, anywhere you can walk around and talk. I find sitting down to eat on a first date kind of awkward - too much potential for silences. At least with something like the above you can always talk about what you're doing if the rest of the conversation runs dry!

    I know real inventive, but, you can stroll and look in shops and read history. You could rent scooters or bikes for the day.

    walking tour of an historic neighborhood, museum or gallery exhibit, cooking class, bocce ball in the park, etc

    One of a first date I had was a game place. We just played and didn't talked much during the time. But that really made us more comfortable with each other and talk more later on. We then went to movie + dinner.
