I'm on day 30 (yeah!!!) of 30DS. I used a heart rate monitor and for level 3 I'm burning 270 calories for that workout. Anyway, back to your question, during this time I have also been doing Zumba on M, W and F. Yes, I do get tired on the Zumba days but I don't want to give up Zumba and feel like I'm getting an extra boost…

In order to truly know how many calories you will burn, you must take into account your age, height, weight and intensity of the workout. This is where a heart rate monitor comes in handy. I am 45, 5'6" and weigh more than I should. I typically burn between 650 and 750 calories per hour of zumba. Tonight, for instance, we…

I have been going to Zumba 2x a week and I just love it. I have a HRM so I could track the calories burnt and I do between 650 - 750 in an hour depending on the intensity of the workout. I would recommend shoes that allow you to pivot so you don't have knee injuries (I use Nike Mistique shoes). If you are new to it, go for…

I use a HRM by New Balance. It has a chest strap and I program it with my body weight, gender, target heart rate, workout intensity, etc. The chest strap is comfortable, I don't even notice I have it on (and at Zumba class, no one notices it either). It tells me how many minutes I have spent at my target heart rate and how…
