Brown rice chips are my treat. They're more like tortilla chips in size and a bit thicker. There are different flavors, my fave is garden salsa. 14 chips is 190 calories, and 14 is usually enough of fill me up and further craving.

Don't have recipe but we have an Ayoub fruit and nut store in my neighbourhood, they are YUMMY. Squash, red and blue potatoes, yams, sweet potatoes, green beans, they even have whole dried okra.

Washed with my darks like normal but hung up to dry.

Unfortunately most of the doctors I've come across have very little nutritional knowledge. They haven't been able to provide specific advice on how to lose weight, just to eat better and exercise more. Things are starting to change with more doctors being open to alternate therapies but it is a very sad comment on our…

Hello Helen and everyone, my name is Michelle. I live in Vancouver, British Columbia and I'm working on at least 100lbs. I've yo-yo'd for years but with forty in the not so distant future my resolve seems a bit firmer this time around. Feel free to add me.

Welcome Tamz, I'm in the same boat looking to lose 100lbs by next summer. If I can take off more that would be amazing but I'll be happy if I can make it to a hundred. Looks like you're off to a good start with five pounds gone already. Feel free to add me if you like.

Well done, I have a great summer wardrobe that I haven't been able to wear for a few years, I can't wait until I can slip on that sundress. Congratulations!!!!

It's all about the lemon, when I get to work first thing I do is make a coffee and put half a lemon in a big glass of water. I keep refilling it throughout the day, usually managing to drink five or six cups at work. I don't count my coffee/tea/juice, only good old H2O.

Great inspiration, congratulations on all your hard work. I'm 5'8" and started at 288, it's so great to see what's possible if I put my nose to the grindstone.

I agree, the success stories are such an inspiration, I've had a couple bad days and seeing our fellow MFP's glowing with good health and weight loss success is a huge bolster. Thank you everyone for sharing your stories.

It's taken me a LONG time to come to grips with my family, in particular my mom, she's a size 10 and has never had any weight issues. Both my sisters and I and my dad are overweight, I have been a chunky monkey since I was a child. I've finally stopped sharing my achievements with my mom, she has never been able to give a…

I pick it up in the bulk section of my natural foods store, but I've seen it at some of the bigger chains as well. You can cook it just like rice with a 2:1 (water:quinoa) ratio. You don't need to add any butter or oil, it gets a nutty flavour if you toast it before cooking it, great flavour if you use veggie or chicken…
