Same here. Almost exactly the same. I'm 35, I started at 142 and I want to get to 135 - maybe 130. I've stopped drinking almost completely (like once a month) and now, finally, the weight is coming off. Though only at 2lbs a month it seems, but I'll take it! Same here. I tweaked the programme to lower sets and increase reps for just this move. once I'm up to 3 sets of 8 I think I'll up the weight and try 5 x 5 again.

I ballooned 14 lbs in two weeks after having been the same weight for years. I had it taken out 6 months ago but the weight still isn't coming off.

Actually, that's a fair point. Why is it fishing for a slim person to ask that question when it isn't for someone who is actually overweight? You know - this might be my problem. I weigh my meats (chicken breasts , steaks) and veggies etc but not pre portioned things like bread, apples, eggs, bacon rashers. Maybe I need a second food scale for work?

your body burns calories 24 hours a day, it burns calories just keeping you alive. Your BMR is what you would burn if you slept 24 hours. mine, which is low, is around 1260.
