  • Everyone is different. But I am also 5'1" and at 60kg I have to be down to about 1250 net per day to be losing a pound a week. Right now I am a little above that weight and doing 1300/day. Also.... eat in a way you can enjoy and sustain. Don't punish yourself or you won't be able to maintain.
  • Cool link, thank you! That's exactly what I was curious about :) Lucky me I don't require my food to be natural and I'll eat all the cool things that food science has produced. Yay science!

  • I'm going to have to look for birthday cake flavor. Even if it tastes like vanilla frosting... yum. I bought vanilla since I haven't had it before and figured it was safe. I'm not sure how Halo Top isn't "real" ice cream. Like someone else said, when posting the ingredients, I was actually surprised to see that the…

  • Melting Pot is the kind of night where I cringe, pre-log 3000 calories, and get back on the wagon the next day. It's so expensive, but so delicious! And now I want to go there.
  • http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10550339/apple-cider-vinegar-does-it-really-help-with-weight-loss#latest Here's a whole thread about this from just yesterday. In short: No
  • Oh no, I think I'm That Woman In The Gym :( I'm always nipping out and it's so embarrassing. Every time I lift they just stand at attention as if I'm freezing cold. :'( I do wear a sports bra but even my one with somewhat foamy cups doesn't hide them...
  • Angel grove, absolutely fabulous!!! Fanncy I'm with you, no longer bother with cardio, just lift! I actually popped into this thread to see Dawn's pics. WOW DUDE! I haven't seen you at the gym since like April (do we still go to the same one?) and you look AMAZEBALLS holy cow!!!
  • Cool everyone, thanks. Everyone had great advice. One thing that really drove it home was canadianlbs pointing out that if, for example, I regained six month's worth of strength in half the time then I might be pretty tired. Now that I think of it, that is almost my exact timeline. I lifted and progressed from Sep to Apr…
  • 1) Hit 90, hooray! 2) Almost every day 3) Nah.... 4) Nahhh...... =/ 5) nope :(
  • Been lifting but forgetting to check in. Still doing plain SL over here. have my hubby, bestie and bestie's hubby doing it so some combo of us are hitting the gym and I don't want to push them into something more complicated yet. Went on another small vacation, got sick, etc so I haven't been making the gains I want. But…
  • It really does. These days I only have time to get in the most basic lift session, but it's better than doing nothing at all. and if I really only have 20 minutes to invest I can do the row machine which still take some strength. So I agree! Every little bit counts, and anything is better than nothing!
  • 1) Squat 90 by EOTM (might be too ambitious, might be 85) 2) Write in my daily mood journal (not workout related) 3) Stay at my deficit calorie goal for at least 5 days a week 4) Lose 3 pounds 5) Do cardio at least once a week, a run or whatever.
  • Hi everyone, I abruptly fell off the wagon many months ago and didn't go to the gym for 4 (4!!!) months. Anyway, I'm back on track and I've been lifting again. I also have recruited a little entourage of friends and I now lift with 2 or 3 other people which is fun. I feel pretty badass teaching my friends. And last week my…
  • I have had many goals and constantly revised them. I am 5'1" I started at a size 12 and 162lb so my long-term goal then was a size 6, whatever weight that was. I was guessing 125. I thought this would make me similar to my college weight. However I didn't account for vanity sizing and a 6 is bigger now than it was in 1998…
  • I went a little earlier today and it was mobbed! Geez! Squat cage was very very occupied so I found other things to do... Ice Cream Fitness ..A? B? Now I can't remember lol Squats - did front squats 5x5 and OHP 5x5 w/50 fixed bar. But after doing a front squat my arms would always be tired so all my OHP were the push press…
  • I know exactly who you are talking about. I've wanted to ask you if he is there on your nights too, because he is there every time I am without fail. He is seriously dedicated! I've never talked to him. I have wanted to smile at him or something to acknowledge him because I see him so much, but I haven't (cool story…
  • holy crap this is complicated! Krok can you recommend weights for us, if I tell you my weight and current lifting stats?? I've never done any of the moves in your AMRAP and I wouldn't even know what to use.
  • I always think about sticking my butt out behind me when I squat. Sometimes when my form flags because I am tired I can tell I am too far forward. But I don't have a concrete "how" or "why" - I can just tell that I didn't put my body out back far enough. Probably just a simple feeling that my balance is totally off. I…
  • I finally went in and broke my inertia! Yay!! Haven't been in for about 2 weeks (guests, then sickness, then plain old inertia) Ice Cream Fitness A Squats 3x5,1x4,1x5@95. I should have deloaded more to 90 or even 85 but let's be totally honest - I went to 95 because I could stick a 25 on each side instead of multiple…
  • Well I haven't actually read the rules yet, but yes definitely I will be participating :)
  • I love this group. You guys are my favorite.
  • I'm all better now but still haven't gone to the gym. You know how an object in motion stays in motion? An object that came to a dead stop sits on the couch. MOTIVATE ME! Canadian I hope you are surviving your training today! Guess we won't know til afterward! I wish someone would hit at me, is that weird? I just want to…
  • Stronglifts is really simple for a beginner because there are only five lifts to learn! Start where you can, even if it's with a lower weight fixed bar!
  • Quest bars are low cal, low carb, not much sugar if any. But I doubt you can get them at Walmart. But you can buy them on Amazon. My favorite is Cookie Dough, microwaved for 20 secs!
  • I have a Polar heart rate monitor and I really, really love it. I wear it for all cardio and I do wear it for lifting. Although I don't follow the calories given for lifting, it is still really useful for me to judge my exertion level and the quality of my workout. I've had mine for a few years so I'm not sure what model…
  • There is still something wrong with me and I might call my dr tomorrow. I've been sick since Wednesday and I can barely eat. I certainly can't work out. I haven't been to the gym in a week now (before I was sick I had house guests) so at this point I am just... MAD! GRRRR MAD SO MAD
