  • ^^^ yeah I know I eat them all the time, they are one of my favourite foods and I hate that they have such a short season of availability. But I just was thinking that I assumed them to be paleo and never bothered to check...so does anyone know?
  • ...Now I'm confused. In NZ yams are small little wrinkly tubers which apparently are also know as are oca. So my question is ....is oca or nz yams acceptable paleo food? I can't seem to find any info on it.
  • citizencave I eat/ate primal before and after both my last whole 30s, I like dairy too much to give it up. But I get sick if I stray from paleo/primal anyway so its a good incentive to stay on it.
  • I'm starting on the fourth which is Tuesday. This will be my third whole 30 :)
  • SO I only managed a whole 29 ...not 30 days. I went out on friday night and had an amazing whole 30 compliant dinner ...but completely over indulged in oysters. I was so ill after.... it resulted in losing 3kgs in 12 hours. I felt so bad the next day I was trying to eat only whole 30 but I really needed to get some salts…
  • Day 23 my eczema is finally clearing up! Was really bad there for a while, well still is but at least its improving. All so noticed that my bathroom habits were decreasing. I realised that I had stopped having fermented foods and was feeling bloated so I bought some kombucha (mines not ready) and things are ....back on…
  • Kaelitr0n recipe was an adaption of this http://nomnompaleo.com/post/66176702405/saag-gosht-lamb-with-spinach-sauce But I didn't have all the ingredients so I changed it. I used lard instead of ghee, chicken instead of lamb, spring onion and cauliflower instead of onion and silverbeet instead of spinach. Once cooked I…
  • Thanks guys, Dragonwolf, I never both to worry about my protein I have no idea if i eat enough or too much but it's normally always well under. And I purposely make sure I'm in the red with fats...i've set my fats goal as a minimum and every day I go over. I am eating a lot of nuts but nothing has changed there I always…
  • I did check the whole 30 forum before I posted here, someone else had the same issue but no one bothered to respond to their question.
  • This was so YUMMY. Chicken Saag with boiled eggs.
  • I went out for dinner last night one a whim. I had spent the day swimming in a river and bush walking and the weather was so amazing and then it was suddenly 8:30pm. My friends then decided to do dinner out and seen as they were my ride home I had to follow them. I was was so hungry and thinking I wouldn't be able to eat…
  • The first whole 30 I did in feb this year was for me horrible. The whole time I had no energy I stopped working out and basically sat on the couch for a month. No matter what I did or ate I was just so tired. I have no idea why either. It maybe the sugar/nightshades... on my last whole 30 I ate a lot of fruit, tomatoes,…
  • Day 7 for me and everything is going really well (a part from a tummy bug i had for a few days). This is my second whole 30 and the last time I got to day 7-8 I was miserable, had lots of craving and was ready to give up.
  • Day one went really well. Scale is tucked away and I'm still logging but just to make sure I eat enough fat...on my last whole 30 I didn't eat enough of it and I was miserable.
  • Where about's in Australia are you. I was in brisbane for five weeks and it looks like I might have to move there. While I was there I hit up the paleo cafes (primal pantry is sooooo good) and several of the jan power farmers markets have people selling paleo food . So cool. But it was the media that had lots of stories…
  • Crazy, that was not the case when I lived in Sweden ...or Denmark for that matter I was there when they introduced saturated fat tax . NZ and Australia are starting to catch on, I've really noticed it, it just started happening in the last few weeks.
  • I"m doing it! I'm in Australia and have been for the last month. It's been un-seasonally hot (getting up to 38C) so I've been eating lots of non paleo ice cream :blushing: . But when I go home (NZ) I'm going to start whole 30 on the 1st to make up for my holiday bad habits.
  • Good read. I watched a documentary (can't remember where) about a native american tribe doing a similar thing to rid themselves of obesity and diabetes etc. I posted this a while ago http://www.scribd.com/fullscreen/166156603?access_key=key-1qn0h4b3fk673he6gd4s&allow_share=true&view_mode=scroll along the same lines about…

  • I agree with Akimajuktuq. and the carbohydrate addiction was more the title of the article...but I wanted people to read it because it is the best article I've seen so far to back up a paleo/primal lifestyle! The article its talking more about the effect that processed carbohydrates has on the body (diabetes, obesity,…
  • I thought this was interesting http://thatpaleoguy.com/2013/09/03/why-do-we-sleep/
  • I would ban over the counter fibre products if I could. If it makes you feel any better, my friend has basically lived off fibre product for several years because she couldn't have a BM with out them. And sadly every time she went back to her doctor they told her she wasn't getting enough fibre. They gave her more fibre…
  • A good one I found is to use chia seeds because they absorb liquid in place of bread crumbs/flour in things like meatballs, meatloaf etc. And to have a gravy thickened without flour/cornstarch I made it with mushrooms (blended til smooth) butter and meat juices YUM!
  • rabbit stew chopped onions carrots bacon butter/oil sage/thyme and a few juniper berries place in a slow cooker add enough stock to cover, season well and slow cook for 2-3 hours till tender :) With the boar just grill it, boar meat is delish and I don't like adding to much to it, just serve with your favourite sides And…

  • Going Primal in December last year was the best thing I've ever done - 11 years of CHRONIC neck and back pain greatly reduced - no tension/migraine like headaches - this is a weird one I don't get car/travel sick like I use to -seasonal allergies gone -asthma gone -dry skin, eczema gone - no longer get mouth ulcers (I used…
  • I made those on Tuesday and they weren't that bad eaten with everything else...I honestly couldn't really tell the difference and my bf thought they were great. But eaten by itself it taste like cauliflower rubber egg omelette. This recipe also sounds interesting but I haven't tried it yet…
  • I used natural products way before going primal for everything (cleaning house and body products), i didn't have a choice as i was allergic to everything. i buy natural cleaning products, body wash, shampoo and hand soap. otherwise i use baking soda and lemon to clean things. Baking soda is also good for cleaning your…
