  • You look stunning. I started at 230 and I'm down 17lbs so far. You've motivated me to keep going to hit that first hurdle of 200lbs.
  • So inspirational.
  • Absolutely hilarious! That's really cheered me up.
  • Thankyou both. I've just had a little cry and I guess I've just got to get on with it now. I'm shocked and devestated at how quick it's piled on and I can't help but wonder what other people think of me too. Really grateful for MFP right now.
  • A colleague 'accidentally' offered me a chocolate yesterday, then quickly pulled away the box whilst apologising because she had forgotten I was on a diet. In a way I'm glad she realised, but if I want to eat a chocolate I will eat a chocolate. Later in the day I ended up eating more than I would of because I felt like I'd…
  • You look amazing. Your motivation is your children. Your motivation is good health. Your motivation is not being the person you were before - the person you were unhappy with. Get back on the wagon. Be happy. Be healthy.
  • I've decided to have the same thing I have every year, some quorn turkey, stuffing, yorkshire puddings, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, gravy and some cranberry and apple sauce. Only difference this year is that I'm having it on a side plate instead of a main plate, meaning my portions are a quarter of the size.
  • You've totally shown me the whole picture now. I'm opting for something else for dinner now and I'm off to the supermarket to stock up on eggs, fish, fruit and veg. Any idea on what I can do to substitute the boxed vegetarian foods? I really enjoy the quorn products and would even have a go at making them from scratch…
  • Going back over the last few days I'm quite ashamed at how much cake / pastry / chocolate I've had and can see that even though I've not gone over on calorie intake I'm actually eating a WHOLE meals worth of calories in one piece of cake. What a mess I've gotten into. I thought I was being ok as long as I didn't go over on…
  • Admittedly over the last few days I have made part of my main meals from packaged foods, but it tends to be vegetarian quorn products. Where people would normally opt for real chicken with their meals I have quorn chicken which is high in protein. Saying that though, I don't go over on carbs and proteins and I drink a LOT…
  • I don't go to the gym much anymore because I do 14hr days at work and walk ALL day, but when I get home I try to do about 5-10 minutes of steps on my stairs at home. I also do brisk walking to and from the train station for 20 minutes a day. I eat back exercise calories. I tend to fall about 5-100 calories short of my…
  • Check out my diary. I don't eat meat or vegetables (I will juice them if I need to) and put on weight through loads of carbs over the years. I'm down 10lbs in 14 days through portion control.
  • I was planning on having mine in my spare room. I wouldn't think your house would fall down lol, considering the content you'd probably have in a room anyway (double bed, wardrobe, bedside table, chester draws etc).
  • You look like a different person. Congratulations on the amazing loss!
  • Great job. Well done.
  • It's GREAT that they've noticed, it shows how far you've come. Just think too - if you quit putting in the effort I'm sure people will also notice you putting the weight back on. I sure know what I'd like to hear from people and it's not that I'm putting all the weight back on. Keep going!
  • I switched from meat-eater to vegetarian in 2 minutes by watching a video on the PETA website on accident and haven't touched it for 7 years now. I feel like throwing up just walking down the meat aisle in a supermarket. I used to eat meat for pretty much every meal and just stopped suddenly. I went straight into eating…
  • If you were in a desert and the only thing to drink was water, you'd gulp it down. You CAN drink it, you just have preferences for other things. It's not a bad thing, I was exactly the same. I struggle to drink tap water so I now buy bottled water which tastes so much cleaner and pure. Give it a go.
  • I'm exactly the same. I normally drink at least 1.5l of water during the day (not including cups of tea etc) and I will get up to use the toilet 3-4 times a night (bearing in mind I only sleep for about 6hrs). I always wake up so thirsty and I think it's partly due to the fact that I breathe through my mouth at night and I…
  • Wow! Well done. You look great! Keep it up!
  • As a vegatarian (7 years!) I eat 'facon' and I quite enjoy it. Tastes nothing like the real stuff, but I can enjoy eating it without guilt.
  • Well tell him that being on a 'diet' is making YOU happy and that you're happy with the changes you've seen in yourself. If he still can't support you then you can always come back to MFP and there are plenty of people who would congratulate you on your loss. I can only hope that I'd one day reach a 60lb loss.
  • You're absolutely glowing in the 2nd pic. You look amazing! Well done!
  • If he truly loved you he'd love you regardless of how you looked and would want to support you in your efforts to be HEALTHY. My partner tells me I'm NOT fat when I'm classed as obese by my BMI. He is supportive of me watching what I eat and congratulates me on my weight loss, but I think he worries other people may want…
  • You look AMAZING! Well done. Can I ask how tall you are? My start weight is the same as yours was and I'm now down 8lb ... and hoping to have a waist as amazing as yours!
  • Thanks so much everyone. I've got something useful out of every post. - I've stopped monitoring cholesterol and replaced it with 'sat fats', which is a relief because I couldn't eat an egg without feeling bad. - I'm going to stop weighing myself every day. - I try to drink at least 1.5l of water a day, not including cups…
  • Ugh, all the ones I don't like. I guess I better just get on with it then. Thanks for the help :)
  • Thanks for the reply. Now I'm slightly confused. The juice I have in the morning is made of 2 carrots, 1 medium apple and a tiny slice of ginger. MFP tells me that is 18g of sugar! Is MFP wrong or have I really got to leave my daily intake at that, without even reaching the recommended '5 a day'? And if 100g 'organic low…
  • I've found that a lot of the tinned food and pre-packaged meals I used to eat were bad for my sodium. However, I drink 1.5l of water a day, not including cups of tea so I'm thinking that I stay within range now because I drink so much. Have you tried increasing your water intake?
  • Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I think Soy milk is still high in protein. Whilst it can be full of sugar, you can get the unsweetened version (which won't taste great if you just want to drink a glass of milk but won't be too bad if used in cooking or with tea, cereal etc). Apparently there are flavoured soy…
