  • Thanks I just downloaded "Clarity, What the HDL is wrong with my numbers!" looks like a very interesting read.
  • Get some puncture sealant in the tubes this will help a lot. I used to use a trailer to carry over 100Kg of beer etc to do deliveries for my shop, I got a few flats on the trailer until I put the sealant in there, then it was like 2 years without one flat. Various makers out there, I used Stans…
  • I'm reading this too, and it is amazing, I've not quite to the part where he starts talking about what to do, just the part about establishing the science. Have you been implementing these ideas yet? Cheers!
  • Well the scale already jumped down a fair bit, I thought some of the extra weight might be water, as I was drinking a few beers over the holidays, which I don't usually do, so down to 124.5Kg/274.5Lbs today. I have to keep at it watching what I eat and get some more walking in. Thanks for the support everyone!
  • Thank you both!
  • Fantastic job, keep it up!
  • Yes, I'm right there with you, I avoid bread, but I LOVE bread! :flowerforyou: Nothing like fresh baked bread still warm with real butt melting on it..... oh yum! The thing is I know if I start eating good bread, when I finally do stop, I'll be way over my limit, and will feel bloated for a while, then in too short a time…
  • Try this thread from more info.... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/10589-for-those-confused-or-questioning-eating-your-exercise-calo Cheers!
  • I have the Fitbit One and it is great, it has really motivated me and lets me know what I'm really burning for calories for the whole day, so I can make sure that I have a calorie deficit, and I lose fat! Worth it to me for sure. Here is a thread that I started asking about the Fitbit....…
  • Well did you get it yet? I passed the 100,000 step mark yesterday, I've walked over 83Km since I got the FitBit on May 21st. Cheers!
  • Great, I got mine through Amazon.co.jp and it cost about the same with free Prime shipping! Once you create an account and log in, if the FitBit page is all in Japanese, go to the bottom right corner of the page and you can select a country, choose USA and the page will be in English. After that, the page should always…
  • I just wanted to again thank everyone for their input. I've had the Fitbit One for 4 days and I've walked 53Km. I'm really liking this, easy to figure out and it has so far kept me motivated. Cheers!

  • Again thanks everyone for all the information, this is great! Yeah, one of the reasons I decided on the FitBit One over the Flex is that the Flex is not yet for sale here in Japan, they say "Spring 2013" on their website, but with it now almost June and no new news, I wonder when they will have stock. Also I run a liquor…
  • Most of the time I have oatmeal, 1/2 cup dry cooked then I put some berries on top of it. I buy the frozen berries from Costco called "Natures Three Berries" Kirkland Rader Farms. One cup is only 70 calories. Cook the oatmeal to how you like it (I don't like mine cooked to a mush!) while it's cooking take a cup of the…
  • I just wanted to thank everyone for the help. I went to a big electronics shop here, they did not sell the FitBit, but they do sell a bunch of similar devices made by Omron, Tantia, Panasonic etc. All of these units were about half the price of the FitBit too, and I think some of them are on par with the FitBit, but they…
  • OK I'm now looking at the One seriously as I can buy it here in Japan, the Flex is not out yet here, and they are not giving a release date, seems the Flex has been sold out in the US etc, so the release has been delayed here in Japan. Many of the ladies here have said that they wear the clip on One on their bra, out of…
  • Amazing effort so far!
  • Yeah, I get that, but what I wonder is if the altimeter is a deal breaker or not? I don't go up and down a lot of stairs in my daily routine, nor is there opportunity to go up and down a lot of stairs. Being able to wear the Flex on my wrist like a wrist band, that seems to me a really good thing, I worry about wearing the…
  • Using this chart on the FitBit site.... http://www.fitbit.com/comparison/trackers Between the Flex and the One the only difference in functionality that I see is the One will count flights of stairs and the Flex will not, also the Flex will allow goad setting and the One will not. For me the big advantage of the Flex is…
  • Wow the input is fantastic, thank you so much everyone! I've got a small problem, I have an iPhone 4, not the 4S just a plain old 4 and I understand that the phone will not sync with the old iPhone 4 :grumble: I'm waiting for the new iPhone 5S or what ever they are going to call it to come out. If I got the…
  • Thank you all for your input, I really appreciate it :flowerforyou: Let me fill in some more blanks about myself, for those that do not know me. I started to lose weight (again) a few years ago, I was 136Kg/300lbs. I got back in to cycling and watched what I ate. I took me some time but I got down to about 108Kg/238lbs.…
  • Tami you Rock!! :drinker:
  • I have several Topeak Mini Dual pumps http://www.topeak.com/products/Pumps/Mini and I like them very much, they work to get you home, they really don't work to get your tire back to 100% but more than good enough to NOT leave you stranded. I put 3200 Km on my Mixer 8 hauling a trailer around the streets of Tokyo and (knock…
  • You look ten years younger, I bet you feel a lot younger and healthier too! Congrats!
  • Great information! I have a dynamo hub on my city bike and I use the Phillips Saferide lights, front and rear, they really work well, they have non-dynamo versions too.
  • This was great, and a huge thank you to Yin for doing the numbers work. I'm really sorry team #2, I got sick, I've been nearly two weeks with a stubbron cold/flu and VERY hot and humid weather here in Tokyo, so I dropped the ball, thanks to all that picked up the slack :blushing: :drinker:
