  • Great I will have data not sure how I will log because mostly not sure what I will be eating.
  • Canucks but man it has been hard this year. But we still believe I am also. Cubs fan so that shows you I never stop believing.
  • I live on the warm side of the Rockies in B.C. just west of Banff and Lake Louise. Head south on highway 93 thru Kootenay National Park. Camp at the Redstreak campgrounds in the park and use Radium Hot Springs as your playground. There is endless trails for hiking or just walking, kayak from Invermere to Radium renting…
  • I was heavy mine was a rental so heavier than one I would buy for myself. Nearly double what my mountain bike it. Today my everything hurts after that ride I think it must be that I fell over in the deep snow so many times.
  • I did use Mountain biking but I Mountain bike and Fat Biking is way harder when there is fresh snow. Yes it is fun and well worth a try.
  • Like others have said let it heal, I continued to run and ended up a 1.5 yr off running 6 weeks in a cast and 6 weeks low amount of walking, I had a stress fracture and have really paid the price for not listening to a sore foot.
  • Oh I wasn't aware of that thanks for that info.
  • Here in the Canadian Rockies carrying a handgun is not an option we carry bear spray. I run and hike with it all the time. You soon get so used to it you don't notice it on your belt anymore than a water bottle.
  • I would say no to running everyday as I sit here not been able to run for a year. I ran everyday and I now have such foot problems that I have not had one day walking pain free for a year. I am not saying this will happen to you or that it was only running that caused my problems but there is no need to run everyday. Stick…
  • I have been off running since the spring due to a sore heel. the Dr's can't even agree what is wrong with it but I have tried stretching and had Orthotics made. Nothing has worked so I have now had Prolotherapy injections and they are working I have only had one and I can feel a huge improvement and having another…
  • I lost 43 lbs with WW and no exercise I then added exercise to my lifestyle to help maintain my loss. Exercising will help lose faster then nit exercising but you must still burn more than you eat. So just because you are exercising doesn't give you a green light to eat what ever you want.
  • If you are running out of breath slow down try to relax and go slow. I only learned to swim 4 years ago and I couldn't go 10 M now I swim 2000M and do not get tired. It is the same with all your exercising if you are to tired or out of breath slow down you are pushing to hard to soon you have to build up your cardio…
  • As you get more comfortable with it, breathing properly and stronger abs you will find you can swim a long time doing the crawl. I learned to swim only 4 years ago and I now feel like I could keep going forever. I usually swim 1 hour which is about 1800-2000m of drills and freestyle.
  • Great answer you got there, so many new runners try to go fast to far to soon. Slow down and do walk run nothing wrong with that. Start the Couch to 5 K program and move up to the 10K and then Marathon. You can do it but building a base is so important. I have been off with a foot injury for months and hopefully have…
  • Go to a running store and get properly fitted and the correct shoe for you.
  • Sorry I have been calling them Ice Gripers they are Ice Trekkers on Amazon for $24
  • I love to winter run, I use Ice Grippers not Yak Trax. I have used both and found the YT slippery if you hit dry pavement or sidewalk. The Ice Grippers are not slippery and not uncomfortable I didn't even know they were there until I tried to run without them then I knew how good they were. I bought mine at the local…
  • I ran everyday last winter the coldest was -30C I have no idea what that is in F but it is cold. I layer up and put Hot Paws in my mitts and a neck sleeve to pull up on my face and go. I love winter running, use Ice a Grippers for slippery roads and go out.
  • This thread starts out saying" get some real good cotton socks" I say get them in black and make sure they come up just under mid calf. You'll look so cool everyone will be intimated by you.
  • I have broken both my elbows in the last 8 years both from falls but not during a run. I was so scared of falling so I tried a Yak Trax but found them really slippery if you hit dry pavement. Last year I found a different one to put on my shoe called Ice Gripper and they worked really good not slippery on cement sidewalks…
  • I work in a very big busy restaurant and I am going full blast fir 5 hours. I never count it I only count exercise that I do above my daily routine no housework or job.
  • I layer up but try to eat some warm oatmeal before going out. Not a huge bowl just a small portion. Just to warm the insides. I wear Point 6 socks, thermal running leggings and wind pants if needed. Short sleeve running T shirt, long sleeve shirt with a wind jacket over top. Neck sleeve to pull up over my chin, touque or…
  • Volunteer for the half you will still be a part of it but letting your body recovery that it needs. Besides you will still get the cool shirt and races are all about the shirt aren't they.
  • Don't worry about pace build on your base add distance and gradually you will be able to increase your pace. Don't worry about taking a walk break lots of distance runners take walk breaks. Congrats on completing C25K
  • I love my Speclalized but mine is a road bike not for off road.
  • Go slow do the C25K program, get fitted at a running store for shoes not a sports store. Do a walk run and no you are not to heavy to run. Check with your Dr before starting any exercise program. I watched a gentleman this past year run by my house the progression has been amazing. He was a very big guy and would run about…
  • Thank you that is what I was looking for just didn't know where to look.
  • I layer first I wear Point 6 Metino wool socks and never had cold feet even at -20C then running tights layered with Columbia wind pants. Short sleeve Tech shirt with long sleeve Sugio winter running shirt. Light running jacket, with neck sleeve to pul up over my chin if needed. Head band with cap or tougue . Light wright…
