  • I freeze lots of lc soups, chili, meatloaf, and basically most of what I have left over. Nnnmost veggies freeze well after cookiong and most cassaroles and breakfast foods such as bacon and scrambled eggs.
  • I like old fashioned oats but found this info for you on Livestrong: Rolled oats, which are whole-grain oats that have been steamed and pressed with a roller to flatten them, take about five minutes to cook, while instant oats, which are basically very thinly pressed rolled oats, are ready as soon as you mix in hot water.…
  • You look beautiful. I hate those "wake up feeling fat days" but thank goodness they only happen once in a blue moon.:grumble:
  • I have lost 67 lbs. From my all time high of 280 I am 117 lbs leaner, older and wiser. LOL I never set a date. My motto is one day, one meal and one step at a time. I have fallen many times and gotten back up many times and can't say it was smooth sailing all the way but when I got cancer 8 years ago they wanted me to gain…
  • I have been on thyroid since I had radiation to the throat and it damaged my thyroid. It gave me more energy to a point, more like my normal energy, but did not cause weight loss. I also take Metformin and have for 8 years because of type two diabetes. It never helped me lose weight. What did help was a low carb, low fat…
  • I used to eat around 2000 a day when I was big into weight lifting and aerobics but now that I'm slower and alot older I stay between 1000-1200 because of back and leg issues which keep my exercising limited. I suggest seeing how it works for you and if you don't lose weight lower it ny 100 a week until you see results.
  • Oh I definately agree it's calories in, calories out. A pound is a pound the world around. I do believe however, that muscle mass burns calories better and is leaner than fat and it's hard after 60 to develop more muscle mass if you have other age related issues such as degenerative disc and spinal stenosis. Add to that…
  • I will be 66 in a couple of weeks. I once weighed 280 pounds and lost 125 lbs. . I had to gain some with cancer treatments 5 years ago and afterward lost the weight I had gained back. This past year I begin to gain again. What I discovered was not that I was now older but I was slower. Now that I am trying to be active and…
  • Only the medication will help you. I am the only one in my peer family who has it but one of my children has Hashimoto's. and just went on meds a week ago after she was diagnosed. Radiation for throat cancer messed up my thyroid. My general P put me on Synthroid 5 years ago. Without it I am wet toast Glad to hear you are…
  • eggs and bacon taste so good on a cold morning
  • I am heartfully sorry. May God bring you and your family peace and comfort and hope. Hope in the knowledge that you and your child will meet again in a far better place than the one we stand in today. Remember that your son is in paradise in the arms of an angel. Rest in the lord and don't stress right now over weight and…
  • In for sure. Let's do it! Dec.1: 171.5
  • Wearing one of those blouses that tie at the waist and a floppy hat. Oh yeah and pants. LOL
  • Me also. I weighed 280 and lost down to 161. The 6 months ago I gained back 15 pounds and it has stuck to me like glue. I am finally losing some of it by drinking more water and exercising more and keeping track of my food. Seems I had become a "grazer" and those bites and chews added up to pounds. good luck. You can do it…
  • A sprinkle of these on yogurt is wonderful. Like a rich desert. Yum.
  • Candied Spiced Walnuts 2 cups (8oz) walnut pieces & halves 1 egg white 1 Tablespoon water 1/4 cup brown sugar Splenda - packed ** 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice Preheat oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with non-stick Reynold's wrap (very important because these stick bad without it!). In a…
  • Going to my sons. Dinner: Cooks ham Deviled eggs Tossed salad Green beans w/bacon and new potatoes Rolls Iced Tea I will eat everything but the potatoes and rolls. Then I will clean the kitchen for exercise. LOL
  • In these cases I tend to drink a ton of ice water and eat some protein before I go so I am pretty full already when I get there. Have a wonderful time
  • Hair is a byproduct of protein as are nails. Add more protein to your diet. When you wash your hair comb it out instead of using a brush. Wash your hair no more than twice a week and do not use heavy conditioners or harsh shampoo. Try baby shampoo. It's very mild and has no detergent.
  • Sometimes we have a tendency to see the whole day as a bust when it may only be one meal or one hour in time. If you ate a bunch of "crap" at breakfast then go on to a balanced meal for lunch and dinner. Looking at it as a whole you did well for 2/3 of the day. Congratulate yourself and go forward. Tomorrow is always a new…
  • Many times a stall is because of water. After you lose some fat it's replaced by water. Once you lose that then you once again lose fat. Stalls are possible on all diet plans because your body needs time to adjust to the changes. Stick with it and don't give up. I have been on Atkins for 8 years or more. I lost all of my…
  • I use lavendar oil on my temples. Lavendar had soothing qualities that helps calm you and relieve stress. Other than that a bed buddy helps. if you don't have one pour some white long cooking rice in a tube sock until it's 3/4 full. Tie the end so the rice doesn't fall out. Heat it in your microwave for 1-1 1/2 minutes…
