  • Not sure if anyone has mentioned radishes yet, but I LOVE radishes and guacamole! I imagine they'd be equally as yummy with salsa and refried beans.
  • This made me laugh WAY too loud at my very quiet office.
  • bump for sushi, and so I can re-read that second post when I need a laugh...
  • Not sure if anyone else already said this, but PLEASE DO NOT follow the above advice. Rubbing yourself with coconut oil and sitting in the sun at ANY time of day is a recipe for skin cancer... As far as stretch marks, I've had them since I was probably 9 or 10, my thighs being the most heavily scarred. Like yours, mine are…
  • Really great. Also, the little post that he links to (from the massage therapist) was lovely.
  • I bought some Boars Head turkey breast from the deli today. I have a food scale, but if I didn't this is how I would have figured it out: The label they slapped on the deli bag said I have .26 pounds of turkey breast. One pound is 16 ounces, so .26 X 16 gives me 4.16 ounces of turkey breast. There are 28.36 grams in an…
  • If I 'walked' at the pace my german shepherd wanted to I would definitely be burning some serious calories worth logging. And if we had hills? Most definitely. [/quote] RIght?! My 45 pound boxer could pull me to the ground if I wasn't paying attention on our walks. And she's petite!
  • No, eating at a deficit means that you are eating less calories than what your body is burning through both exercise AND simply being alive every day...you don't even need to exercise at all to eat at a deficit. ETA: yea, what everybody else said
  • If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, then I'd suggest you invest in an anti-chafing gel! Then you can feel free to wear whatever underwear you deem most comfortable.
  • Twin Cities 10 Mile on October 6 and the Monster Dash Half Marathon on October 27!
  • You actually can photoshop a runway show, if it isn't a live broadcast. If I'm not mistaken, the VS runway show is actually aired a few days after it is taped...which leaves several days for photoshopping. I have no idea what (if any) photoshopping they do, just saying it is possible.
  • Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but it's also something to keep in mind: They might not look how you "expect" them to because they themselves aren't after that look. There's a lot more to achieving certain body compositions/looks than simply teaching a lot classes designed to help strength/cardio. All of the…
  • I have one calf bigger than the other...and one arm that's bigger than the other, and one boob that's bigger than the other, and one foot that's bigger than the other! In fact, pretty much everything on my right side is a bit larger than my left. I think it's pretty normal, especially in the case of limbs, since most…
  • "It happens. My wife set a bunch of powerlifting world records. If the truth be known, she was wearing adult diapers for most of them. " If this is true, then I don't know why most women's beef with lifting is that they'll get bulky...yikes!
  • Maybe I'm wrong, but I think she was experiencing more than soreness...Preparation H is usually used for a pretty specific ailment, and one that is a bit different from muscle fatigue... I do agree, though, that the OP should really follow the program and not give up!
  • Well, I can't say that this has ever happened to me...but I'm going to guess it had something to do with your form being off, or it's an unhappy coincidence. I can't for the life of me come up with an explanation for why deadlifts would do that! That being said, you can always try searching the NROL4W group, found here:…
  • The 2500 mg of sodium is not a minimum/requirement, it is the maximum amount of sodium recommended for people of generally good health. So, don't fret...no need to dump salt on everything to "meet the sodium requirement"
  • Watermelon! It's low cal, but with such a high water content it will help keep you hydrated and full. Also, assuming keeping things cool isn't an issue, things like hard boiled eggs, cheese, the aforementioned sammiches, and veggies and dip are things I'd bring. Nuts, fruits like bananas and apples that don't require prep,…
  • Upcoming Race: TC 10 Mile Location: Minneapolis/St.Paul MN Date: October 6 Duration: 10 miles Trail or Road: Road Goal Time: 1 hour 45 minutes First Race?: No Post Race Reward: a medal and the free food at the finish line :) This is assuming I get chosen in the race lottery!
  • People absolutely have different body frame sizes. My friend and I are the same height and about 10 pounds different in weight, yet my shoulders are much broader than hers. Her rib cage is about 4 inches larger around than mine. If she were to try on one of my hats, it wouldn't even go down an inch on her head. Yes, some…
  • "Look at people in different countries starving, they are not going into starvation mode." Umm...huh?
  • Honestly, I'm not sure I'd call it a plateau. I've been on this "journey" since January of 2012...my starting weight was 162. Since then I've switched up my cal intake, the lowest being 1450 when I started and the highest being 1900. With the exception of doing TDEE for the past month, I usually ate my exercise cals back.…
  • Yea, I've definitely accepted that whatever weight/body fat I have to lose is going to be slow going. My goal weight is 145...but I'm really not attached to that number at all. I'd really just like to shrink in size a bit...nothing too drastic, as I'm not a petite woman whatsoever...I've got a nice sturdy frame to work…
  • There is much to wonder about in the OP's post. Like how much does she really burn in exercise? Did she happen to weigh herself on one of those days where the scale goes a little crazy? How accurate is her logging overall? Also, no loss of pounds in one month? Who hasn't been there? I've been stuck at the same weight for 6…
  • Looks great! It's a flattering outfit, and most importantly, it looks like it will keep you cool and comfortable on your run!
  • Well...if "the normal one or small" spoons you're referring to are spoons that you actually eat with, I'd say don't use either of those to measure. Silverware isn't really made to measure quantity...it may have been at one point (don't know), but I'm pretty sure spoons aren't standard at all. I'd suggest buying a set of…
  • This was perfect timing, as I've been trying to talk myself out of lifting all day! Thanks for the post :)
