  • I have had this too! I will sometimes (not as often now as it used to be) break out in an UNGODLY itchyness while running. It is so bad that I literally cannot continue. I think it's a circulation issue, the better shape I am in the less it happens to me. When I've been sitting on my butt a lot and then I go running, it's…
  • Awesome, thank you. That sounds about right.
  • yes, thank you, I saw that when I googled it but unfortunately they don't have the calorie content for the bowls.
  • HOLY mother of pearl! You look incredible!
  • That was a joke- he was saying, "hey, next time you go to NYC check out Subway and that news stand on the corner!".... because that's totally what you want to spend your vacation doing.
  • That's why I get original flavored turkey jerky- it's only 270 per oz as opposed to normal jerky at 590 per oz.
  • Turkey Jerky! Low in calories and fat, high in protein. Fruits like apples, pears, nectarines, grapes, etc. Carrot sticks, celery sticks, cucumber soaked in red wine vinegar. Laughing cow cheese and brown rice crackers. Kashi bars, or Larabars. You could heat up soup and then keep it in a thermos? Would that stay hot long…
  • I've gotten some insults disguised as compliments... mostly from other young girls at work. I make an active effort to be nice to everyone so I'm not sure where the animosity comes from. "You always wear such weird pants." "You look like MInnie Mouse in that skirt." "Your lower half is so much bigger than your upper body.
  • Oh my lord. Those are the type of people I talk to all day on the phone. I sift through applicant's resumes with cover letters that read, "i'M a *****, bUT I'm jUsT keEEpinG it REaal!!."
  • That's so sad : ( Makes me sad that she had to die in that private hell. She was so young. If you haven't been there, there's no use speculating that she didn't want out. Sometimes wanting out isn't enough.
  • This is such an interesting thread! That statistic about 1/3 of woman being on a diet at all times is from a list of diet related statistics that have been passed around the internet for years now. There is no source/study attributed to it. But I completely agree with what a few other people mentioned, if it's true, it's…
  • lol I like the idea of breaks. Especially Chinese breaks. If I don't feel like making progress, there's no reason for me to have to back-track.. At least I can stay in the same spot. Congrats on the weight loss!
  • Bah! lucky duck. I'm kind of on the lower part of my "set point" now so I'm having a harder time losing. I just checked your tracker though, you've lost a bunch already! You must have a really good metabolism.
  • I love it! And I love the sound it makes - "beccch" like I just thought of something gross. Easy to remember!
  • I love that you wrote this. I didn't read all the responses- my general feeling towards all this hysteria/conspiracy theory/sensationalism is just to calm the #$%* down and use common sense. It's worked for me so far. Okay well I'm 20, but my parents taught me this way of thinking and it's served them well!
  • Wow what an attitude. Anyone can be a positive influence in her life and it sounds like she needs someone who can help her make some healthier choices, both for her self image and her body.
  • I don't understand how you define a waist if it's not at your belly button or narrowest part. My pants sit at my butt crack lol. Definitely not where I should measure. I guess on a man it would be harder to find the "waist" but on me it's very clear where my waist is and it not at my hips or my belly button! Mine is…
  • Waist is definitely the narrowest part unless it specifies "waist at navel" otherwise there is no defining "spot" to measure at. But "hips" actually means butt? What? Americans and our silly euphemisms.
  • I spot constantly after strenuous exercise- drives me crazy. But I've always been prone to it anyway. It can be a symptom of problems with your cervix (ie cancer) so I would get it checked but more likely it's due to the stress on your body from exercise and weight loss.
  • My boyfriend does the exact same thing! When we complain about something to another girl, they tend to listen to us and give us sympathy. When we complain to a guy, they think they are being helpful by offering suggestions, even if they are hurtful. I've learned not to draw attention to my negative physical aspects in…
  • My boyfriend likes skinny, skinny skinny. But still big boobs. *rolls eyes*
  • I can so relate- it's something I am still really struggling with right now. I'm not the kind of person who can buy a bag of my favorite chips and have a couple- I'll eat the whole bag. If I just avoid those foods altogether I'm generally much better off. I still indulge every now and then but mainly at restaurants where…
  • I dont get it lol. It is true--- if you are comparing one pound of fat to one pound of muscle, then of course they weigh the same. But with an equal volume of both, muscle weighs more. Right? So muscle definitely does weigh more than fat. Using the cotton ball brick example, you're standing there with five pounds of cotton…
  • Thats incredible congratulations! I had so many legal and health consequences because of my using but it is still the thought of how I treated my poor parents that makes me sick to my stomach. I'm in the program right now and working really hard to repair the emotional and financial damage I did- still. I guess it never…
  • If you really knew me... I guess you would know I've been clean and sober a year and a half. It feels like a lifetime ago but I still worry about falling back to old habits. I could never do that to my family again. Actually if you really knew me, we would be friends ; )
  • Yup I only lost a an inch off my waist and hips but already my bras are loose. Whether this inspires or depresses you, it's important to keep in mind that your body's proportions will never change. So yes, your boobs will be much smaller, but so will the rest of you. Half the time I'm grateful for that fact, the other half…
  • I know I'm late on this thread, but I was starting from the beginning and WOW. This is insane. So incredibly inspiring. Not just the weight loss but the change in your body and your muscles.
  • I am so in love with this place- everyone is so helpful and the boards move really fast so you're never waiting around for a response. I just joined too. Welcome!
  • Lauriee2011- is that a corgi? I have a corgi named Sammy that looks just like that! He's a little pembroke with the same coloring. I'm definitely going to check out some kind of heart monitor- the best would be if there's one that can somehow hook up with an ipod ap. I so know what you mean about the food scale- I was so…
  • Wow I am so happy with how fast you guys replied! Thank you so much. I will up my activity level to lightly active- I think it is more accurate. Even if I'm not burning quite enough calories, like bloodstar said it will put me just below a pound a week. I've known people who have gone as extreme as 1,000 a day- I don't…
