  • I've had the same issue. But in all honesty, there's only so many times you can tell someone "Way to go" for being under calories. I usually only look for responses when there's a weight loss or if I make a comment on the friends list. At least that's how I tend to do my posts.
  • It's ok to have an "off" day once in awhile. If youre worried about calories, go easy on the calories at breakfast and lunch to "save up". But it is ok to go over from time to time. From what I've read from others that's how they keep their weight from plateuing. Have a good time tonight.

  • I want to go to Hawaii and swim with the dolphins!!
  • I've been here too. But what finally did it for me was finding out I had gestational diabetes with my second child. After he was born my blood sugar did not go back to normal. I'm pre-diabetic. I realized I could end up like my mom at 500 pounds, type 2 diabetes, high bp, can't even walk across the room without losing her…
  • I've noticed that I retain water overnight so I don't weigh until I've been up a half hour or so, but before I've had anything to eat.
  • Are you getting enough evening protein? It'll help you feel full longer. Also drink more water. Maybe keep some by the bed to drink when you wake up. Good luck.
  • I would like to lose 100 pounds by my 40th birthday...January 2014. That way even if I only lose a pound a week, I can do it. If I get there sooner, even better!
  • You should log anything that has calories. It's the only way to know for sure what you're taking in. That's what got me starting to lose weight....being mindful of everything that goes in my body.
  • You say you need to lose only ten more pounds. Is it possible you're already at the weight your body wants to be?? Maybe you're big boned and the fitness charts are lower than they should be for you. Also, if it's only ten pounds, I would just eat the calories needed to maintain for a month or two, then go back to trying…
  • I've heard about a lot of people who put the 30DS into their workout log on MFP as circuit training. People with a HRM say that it's pretty comparable.
  • I'm having the hardest time finding 30DS. Maybe it's because of the new year resolutions crowd. I did pick up her Ripped in 30 and Extreme Shed and Shred. Does anyone have any experience with either of these??? Just curious if you found one more effective than the other. Thanks.
  • Exactly! It's all about balance. Calories in/calories out. That's the ultimate goal. For me it's about moderation. I'm fat because of my portion sizes. If I try to diet, I fail every time. If I have the foods I enjoy, just in moderation and being honest about the calories I take in, I have more success. In the long run the…
  • I agree 100%. You're lucky he's gone, though it's a shame you had to go through that kind of abuse. Fortunately, you're in a place where you can reset your life. Let YOU be your biggest motivator, and all else will fall into place. Good luck and stay positive!
  • In the past, I've tried to cut calories to the extreme thinking I would lose weight more quickly. Unfortunately, I've ended up stagnating at the same weight. When I would load up on calories the next day, I would actually see a weight loss. I wouldn't go too extreme on calories deficits. I try to get within 50 of my goal…
  • I've had the same cravings too. (A retirement party for someone at work nearly killed me this week.) When I had gestational diabetes, I found that after a week or so of moderating my carbs and taking in protein and veggies, that my cravings for the "bad" lessened. I still had the occasional treat, but I didn't allow myself…
  • Thank you all for the suggestions. That's kind of what I was hoping to hear.
  • One thing I've thought about doing, and maybe it will help you too, is as soon as hubbie gets home, take a DVD to another room and work out there. Or go to the garage and jump rope for half an hour. That way you're not self-conscious about working out in front of him, and he can watch the baby if/when he wakes up and give…
  • To stick with MFP long term and not quit when it gets rough. I'd also like to lose at least half of my overall goal this year, and the other half by the time I turn 40.
  • I'm not the most patient person in the world myself. My goal is currently 2 pounds per week, because I'm doing a weight-loss challenge at work. Once that's over in 10 weeks, I plan to go down to 1.5 pounds per week. Once I'm under 200, then I'll go down to 1 pound. I'm not sure I have the patience to do half a pound.…
