Congrats!!! That's a major loss, 66 pounds. Keep up the good work.

My commitment to this journey. I am proud of my efforts. In the past I would eat healthy and or exercise for a limited period of time. This time I am in for life! Feels really good.

Don't despair! The rate of weigh loss can vary from week to week even though you are following your program. As someone mentioned before you could be retaining fluids. Sometimes as we lose you have to look at other measurements of progress like: Your body measurements The fit of your clothes Your ability to perform…

Congrats Crafterpaula on getting it off and keeping it off. I am thinking 140 is about where I need to be (I am 5'4"). Sorry you have been ill, work your way back gradually. Enjoy your summer.

When I am on vacation I vacation from my healthy eating too. I was in New Orleans in February for the Mardi Gras. The food is a big part of the experience. We were so active while there that I came back only 1.5 pounds heavier than when I left. Have a great time!

You have a good plan to try to prevent health problems by losing weight. I started at 207 and have lost 26 lbs so far. It requires replacing some old habits with some new ones. It is a day by day challenge. I find it better to focus on what I did well each day. We tend to eat when we beat ourselves up. Feel free to friend…

Hi everyone! I lost 30 lbs. last summer, then started some old habits and regained 6 lbs. I managed to get 2 of those off, but for months no further weight loss (a stinking plateau!). :frown: You can friend me. I would like to be a part of the support group of 50+ year olds.

Hi everyone! I am 58 years old. I have lost 26 pounds so far. The past few months despite eating nutriously and exercising 5 or more days a week I have not lost anything. It's very discouraging. I keep reminding myself of the fact that my routine is good for my body. I keep it up with the hope that some day I will…

Wow!!! Congrats! Dropping clothes sizes is one of the sweetest NSVs. Keep up the good work.

Nancy, I apologize for not responding to your question earlier. I was concentrating on logging my food and weight and didn't check back. I will check often now. My workout consists of walking, stationary bike, and now stair climbing. Next week I will start weight training. I am excited about it. This was a good week for me…

Congrats on that record breaking run and to being so close to goal! I'll start a weight lifting class next Wednesday.

I have over 40 lbs to lose for sure, maybe 50. I can use some friends to give and get support from, and share ideas.

One thing is that I no longer allow myself to give an excuse NOT to workout. The other is in May the most I could do was 5 minutes on the bike. Yesterday, 40 minutes!

I am 5'4" my tentative goal is 140 pounds. I am not sure if that's where I need to be I have to see what it looks like. At 14 I got on the scale and weighed 150 lbs, then I started dieting. By the time I left college I weighed 180 lbs. I know as a teen 150 was still too much, so I think it might still be the case, but only…

I know exactly what you mean. My heart goes out to people I see struggling to move about or to get out of a seat. The highest my weight has been is 207 pounds. At that weight I struggled and was easily out of breath, so when I look at people carrying even more I just can't imagine the discomfort. Additionally, the negative…

I can comfortably wear a pair of shorts I couldn't fasten when I tried Memorial Day.

I prefer to workout alone because previous partners started off strong and gradually faded. When I get used to having a partner it's hard to go it alone. So due to my past when someone joins me I keep reminding myself that this is temporary.

I am in. Support and motivation will help us get there.

I haven't tried it yet, but now I can! Thanks everyone for the recipes.

I have a medium build. I currently weigh 181 lbs. and wear size 14 pants. My goal weight is 140 lbs because at 150 lbs Uncle Sam told me I needed to lose 15 lbs to enlist. I am certainly not enlisting now, but I know at 150 lbs, which is where I was then, I needed to lose a little weight. I want to see what 140 lbs looks…

Excuse: I am too tired, it won't hurt to miss today. Solution: I tell myself to do at least half of what you usually do. Before I finish half I am not tired anymore, and I complete the entire workout.

After 20 pounds one person at work commented. I told my family how much I had lost, then they commented. When people comment without me telling them I am dieting or have lost weight then and only then am I sure they really see a difference.
