  • I'm finding myself super tired these days! I've been doing this 30 days now, felt great at the start, but lately, I'm just wiped out! I work full time and have a 5 yr old son to take care of in the evening after work. I just feel like my life is nonstop! Squeezing in my workouts as soon as I get home from work, making…
  • It's tough, but it's all about keeping your routine. I work M-F so of course, like many people, it's much easier for me during the week. Weekends can be hard because it's easy to sit back and do nothing in terms of exercise. Because the laundry has to get done, the house needs to be cleaned, etc. So it's easy to break my…
  • Oh man! Frozen thin mints are sinful! And Tagalongs..ohhhh they're so good! It took EVERYTHING I had to NOT buy cookies at my son's preschool. The owner's granddaughter was selling them for like 3-4 weeks. I saw the sign twice a day. And finally the sign said "Last day to buy cookies!" I DID IT! :) It's hard though. I…
  • I'm playing with new recipes lately because it's pretty fun to test some things out. Here are a few I've actually made and eaten so I can confirm they taste yummy!! Chicken & Black Beans with Cream Cheese Cook Time: 4 hours Servings: 4 4 -5 boneless chicken breasts 1 (15 1/2 ounce) can black beans 1 (15 ounce) can corn 1…
  • I found MFP to be way under what I was actually burning when I used my HRM. Like 189 calories in 20 mins compared to 242 calories in 20 minutes. It's based upon my heart rate, height, weight and age so I'd say it's more accurate then MFP.
  • Don't forget the stress of wedding planning too...that always helps shed a few pounds! :) Congrats on your wedding! You can do this! Set your mind to it and you'll be ready to go in 4 weeks!
  • Are you sure it's asking you to set your zone? Because I think once you enter your height and weight and age that it'll calculate zones for you once you're working out. I used my HRM the other day for the first time and it was very basic as far as entering info. I noticed the low zone, high zone, but didn't think much of…
  • If it's more of a cramps thing, I may curl up in a ball on the couch with a blanket. Sometimes cramps win... But this was my first week having my period and feeling gross since working out faithfully. I stuck with it. The first few days I felt gross and my stomach was a mess. I had cramps and for the first time took Midol.…
  • I also live in Dunedin...but Dunedin, FL :) My stepdad is a kiwi. They just went to New Zealand to see the family and the pictures are BEAUTIFUL! You all live in a very beautiful area. The water is so blue and the land is so green. I can't wait till it's my turn to go visit! :)
  • I love going to the gym! I really enjoyed using the elliptical and doing my free weights workout in front of the mirrors to watch for form. I also did a Total Body Toning class that kicked my *kitten* as well as a fantastic spin class. The problem is that I have a 5 yr old son. And some days he can go to the gym daycare…
  • I do my 30 DS every day (maybe a day off here and there but for the most part, I do it daily). I also walk each day after work but sometimes I can't because my husband isn't home to watch our son or it's already too dark outside where I don't want to walk at night alone. If you want to do it 3 days a week, that's fine.…
  • Hey I started out using soup cans! :) You do what you can do! However, FYI, keep your eyes peeled for local yard sales/garage sales. People might be giving them away or selling them for cheap. My Mom let me borrow her 3's and 5's. She's been into yoga lately and doing less time in her own gym. If was quite the difference…
  • LMAO! My grandmother was the SAME way! That is so freaking funny! She'd do this and either get free samples/food (whatever it was) or massive coupons. LOL. Ohhh that cracked me up! I miss my Gramma! :)
  • It's one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. Each person on that show brings something great! Sheldon is freaking hysterical and well, everyone is really.
  • I drive a 2004 Chevy Silverado! $2400 left and that sucker is paid off! Not that I'm counting or anything....
  • My mother no longer uses her HRM so she said I could use it. She has a Polar F4 (not sure how old it is) with the chest strap. I used it today for the first time and I LOVE it! :) I do my Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD and MFP says I burn 189 calories. HRM says I burned 242. Then I did my 3.0 mile walk. Usually MFP says…
  • I just had my period a week ago for the first time since my diet/exercise plan about 27 days ago. I had cramps, was a bit bloated here and there, but stuck with my calories and continued to exercise. I still managed to lose that week which had me pretty pumped. This coming week will be interesting to see if I lose more or…
  • It's less calories and I sort of got into the habit of eating only the egg white when I was making hard boiled eggs for breakfast. I'm not a fan of the yolk! Then to make scrambled eggs or omelets I used just egg whites and I love them! Since I got into the habit of it, I do it all the time now.
  • Interesting tidbit for ya! According to MFP, when doing 30 day shred, I burn 189 calories. I am using my mother's HRM and I set everything to my height and weight and after 20 mins of Level 2, it says I burned 242 calories! If you have an HRM, use it and I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised! :)
  • I did the modified push up the entire Level 1. Then moved on to Level 2 after 10 days. I wasn't going to let the push up hold me back when my endurance for the rest of the workout was picking up.
  • Gotcha! Yes there are days when he's the one pestering me to go outside and play football or basketball with him. If he sees the boys next door outside then he'll throw on his shoes and go on his own. But yes, in general, kids should get more exercise and WANT to do it on their own. But if we as parents don't lead by…
  • Reverse Crunches or double crunches. I hate them with a passion but they're hitting the spot. I've been doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD ($6.99 on Amazon) and I really have noticed my stomach go down quite a bit. I have that little pouch too and it drives me nuts! But I've been losing in my waist since doing her…
  • I really enjoy MFP actually. I still have another 20 lbs to go but I enjoy tracking calories and exercise. I really like the people I've met along the way. It's nice to have the support system whether I need it or not. I'll keep using it once I reach my goal weight!
  • You know, I drank nothing but green tea for a while. And I was losing weight (not working out) and somehow missed the massive head cold that swept through the office at work. I like to believe it was the green tea. But I can't say for sure.
  • Why does it make you sad that I make my son go outside and play? I see nothing wrong with telling him to shut the TV off and go outside to play. If the sun is shining and it's a gorgeous day, then yes I'll send him outside. Why? Because technology gets in the way of kids being kids. Kids don't belong in front of a TV or…
  • I just saw that you work at a bakery huh? Man oh man how in the world do you handle that?? Actually maybe it's not that horrible. Last night I wanted dessert so badly. But I entered it into the MFP database first and when I saw that it was a total of 1158 calories and 72 grams of fat....I figured maybe it'd be better to…
  • I absolutely love DMB! Here's a quick story for you: My husband (fiance at the time) and I went to a concert. I LOVE DMB so much and for years have wanted to see them in concert. I put the very expensive tickets on my charge card and we packed up some food, beer, tailgated and were ready to go! We had lawn seats but…
  • LOL! Yup!
  • I'm such an idiot...I couldn't figure out ED to save my soul. :) We all want to lose weight quickly but that's not the healthy way to do it. Be friends with the people that support you and motivate you. Because it's not about anyone but YOU. So find the people to support you that click with you and your goals. That's what…
  • My husband was begging me too! :) We have family that live in Tamarac also. But it's crazy expensive and I just think it's a bit too much to throw money towards. Even for the pay per view...I always fall asleep! It's always on too late for him and for me!
