  • I would recommend yoga as well as pilates. Not all yoga is crazy bending and twisting, you can do modified poses and gain lots of benefits for your issues. Restorative yoga would be great for you!
  • Im mainly doing yoga & pilates at my gym. I just ordered the book YogaFit, which has all the yoga poses that I do at the gym (plus many more!) and I plan to do more yoga work at home for those times I cant make it to the gym. I like to have an instructor to make sure im doing the poses correctly , you can hurt yourself if…
  • Here is the website for you http://www.maternalfitness.com/
  • Google "Loose your mummy tummy" It is a program developed by a nurse specifically for healing Diastisis, that is the seperation of the abdominal muscles during pregnancy and childbirth...there are special specific exersizes she has you do. Also, ive been told that certain exersizes can make it worse if your diastisis is…
  • Thats what im wondering. I have done 2 days in a row and its KILLING me. I know I need to push through the pain, but I dont want to get to the point where I seriously cant move to do ANY exersize, that would be bad. I do a lot of yoga & pilates and even after a good yoga session to stretch out my muscles I am still really…
  • There are so many benefits to tackling your weight loss the "old fashioned" way. Im not going to voice my personal opinion on the HCG diet because that topic always gets heated and im not in the mood for it today...BUT, by simply eating right and exersizing and leading a more healthy lifestyle you are helping yourself in…
  • Ditto the previous poster.... If I do a specific DVD workout or gym class a lot of times its not listed under that specific title in the database so ill just add it as cardio, or strenght training or whatever fits best. I know that Yoga & Pilates both are in the database because I do both of them often.
  • I bet if you just asked one of the trainers or gym employees to show you how to use the machines, they would! In a lot of gyms that is part of the orientation process, you get a consult with a trainer and a walk through on all the equipment. Just ask! I was overwhealmed when I went to my gym for the 1st time, just switched…
  • I get what your saying, but there ARE benefits to breastfeeding that have been proven time and time again. and I understand that there are indeed women that cant breastfeed, some choose not too, some cant, some feel bad about not being able or choosing not too, some dont...that doesnt mean we all shouldnt share the…
  • There are SO many benefits to breastfeeding, for both mother & baby!
  • Thats whats so gross about it, that it DIDNT grow mold like normal food items should! Its probably pumped so full of chemicals and preservatives...yuck, yuck, YUCK!
  • Me too. I grew up with mayo in my tuna and dont really like it any other way, I just use lite mayo and I only use one servings worth...its really not all that bad calorie wise, I eat it all the time
  • HA! I know what you mean about all that activity from running after your kids....I also live in a 3 level townhome and go up and down my stairs about 20 times a day so im sure that burns a good number of calories, but I dont track any of it as exersize....only my gym time or special exersize thats not apart of my regular…
  • Actually, I no longer buy ground beef as ive found that ground turkey is MUCH cheaper in my area and also much more healthy...im in the State of Virginia, so I dont know how it is elsewhere, and I know that the prices used to be much different but lately ive been getting ground turkey for very good prices
  • So, you DONT report these things when you see them? Just take the tag number as they drive off and call it in! You can even wait till break time or end of shift, but there is no way id witness someone with a young child out of the carseat and not report that, or someone drinking alcohol behind the wheel and not call that…
  • I *LOVE* that blog! Its so brutally honest, its refreshing to see someone not at all in any way afraid of saying something that may offend someone else, just says whats on his mind and if it offends you, well, thats on YOU....I love it :) and I agree, I think SOMETHING needs to be done about the situation. I like the idea…
  • Before I found MFP when I first decided I was going to loose weight, I made a couple blog posts about it and have since not blogged at all about my weight loss journey,, but im always posting on facebook about my progress and all my friends are always telling me what a great job im doing and how im inspiring them, I really…

  • Well soda of ANY type isnt really good for anyone, no matter if its regular or diet...and just because something says "diet" or "light" doesnt always mean its good for you either, ALWAYS check the ingrediant list of what you are putting in your mouth, many times those diet foods are chocke full of chemicals and artifical…
  • I definately giggle in my head about how silly I must look doing some of those poses, God I hate that the entire front wall is mirrors, I dont want to see that LOL but I keep it all in my head, I try not to draw any extra attention to myself by laughing outloud...plus the class is actually really zen and relaxing once you…
  • I dont have a huge problem with it as long as you are still actively using the equipment while having your conversation, what kills me and makes me SOO mad are those that will sit on a weight machine not working out just talking on the phone, ive been very tempted to go knock the phone out of their rude hands...what about…
  • THIS! Most post partum women will work and work for years in vein to try to get rid of the tummy, but they use the wrong approach for what the real issue is.... definately look into the Tupler Technique, its developed by a nurse specifically for healing a diastisis which is a seperation of the abdominal muscles during…
  • I dunno, I think thats what they WANT us to think! That without all the chemical engineering and such they do to our food that our supply would diminish or our food wouldnt be safe or whatever...I just dont buy it! Sure, we would have to do without certain unnatural varieties of things so I guess in that sense the supply…
  • From your picture you look fantastic! Dont perpetuate the modeling industries completely unhealthy body image issues by trying to drop a lot of weight in just 2 weeks...like someone else said, you obviously look good enough already since you got the job! and if they ask you to loose weight, id tell them to kiss your rump!…

  • It doesnt shock me one bit! Dole is a huge major corporation and ALL they care about is money, dont let any of their cleaver marketing techniques fool you, it is all about the dollar, not our health or the Earth!
  • Dont let it get you down, each day is a new fresh start and all you can worry about is THAT day! Doing your best for that day and taking them one at a time!
  • Thats probably not the most helpful thing to say in a thread dedicated to those that DO want to give it up.
  • I hope to God its some sort of health condition, I know they exsist....it still makes me sad to see such large children :(
  • Its really SO much easier than you are thinking, you just dont drink it and you just dont cave to the temptation! Its all mind over matter, and if you are really serious about giving it up, you will, if you arent totally serious, then you will cave and drink them. I was a major coke a holic but gave it up cold turkey! My…
  • I do yoga, its not in a heated room but either way I always get really hot and sweaty from it, my heart rate also gets up too, I dont yet own a HRM, but I feel I get a pretty good workout from my yoga class, ill be excited to see exactly how many calories it burns when I do finally get a HRM
  • My hubby still drinks coke & pepsi a lot, but like I said before, I just decided for ME that in order to reach the goals I finally decided NEEDED to be met, that I would have to stop drinking it. Its all mind over matter :)
