I have a BodyMedia Link. I do love it but I am also thinking about getting the new Fitbit Flex. You do need to have the subscription in order to access your data.

I would be buying the new one, the Flex (bracelet) if I get one... which doesn't have a diplay. But I almost always have access to a computer so maybe it isn't a big deal...

Thanks all! I have BodyMedia Fit right now... but am kind of sick of getting looked at funny at work LOL. I also really like the "community" aspect that FitBit gives. I did try to buy one before my BodyMedia but had a hard time getting it to load on my computer. Maybe I just had a dud!

Also, if you want to look fit and not flabby, you should start adding weights instead of doing cardio so much.

Netting 500 is not healthy at all... actually bordering on anorexic possibly. You should net at least 1200... I am 5'2" and am 158 pounds... I eat AT LEAST 1400-1500 calories a day and I am steadily losing weight at about a pound a week!

Fit bit is not going to give you calories burned for cleaning and what not... it bases calories burned off of your steps. BodyMedia monitors your all around movement and does give you calories burned for EVERYTHING!! IT's amazing to see how many calories I burn on an errand day and chasing after the kids!!

LOL!!! Just be careful to remember to take the bodymedia off your arm before showering... I can honestly say that once I put it on, I forget I am wearing it :-) I ALMOST stepped into the shower with it on once!

It depends on what you are looking for... Fitbit does not do any actual on body monitoring. It is a pedometer that can also detect acceleration and elevation. Just my experience from using ellipticals... I found out that my actual calories burn was about 1/2 what an elliptical says. I would adjust your calorie burn when you log to compensate for the difference.

If you walk enough, it is great! I just went on a 35 minute walk for my lunch at work - burned 184 calories (2.23 miles). I also walk to and from my office from the train station - round trip burns about 160 calories (1.6 miles)

I get cortisone shots every 4-6 months... I have Plantars Fascitis and Heel Spurs... The shots are a little painful but SOOOOO worth it!

I am 33yo, 5'2", 162 pounds - I burn about 120 calories (I have a bodymedia fit). I went outside to jog a little this morning instead of doing 30ds and buned 180 calories... not sure I'm going to continue with 30ds...
