  • Hey all! I, too, am having a tough time getting motivated to workout. I WANT to....but there's always something else to do. I find myself chasing after my little man outside most of the time & have to push him around in his little tikes truck. We've also managed to go for a couple of walks around town. BUT....the treadmill…
  • Morning all! Mind if I join in? I am due with my 2nd on Nov 21st --- however, we'll be doing a scheduled c-section, so not sure when that will come into play. This one was a surprise to us. With our first, we tried for 3 years, multiple IUI's & IVF attempts......so we didn't think it could actually happen on it's own, just…
  • Would ya look at that hot mama!? ;) Great job!!!!
  • Definitely get one w/ a chest strap. They're more accurate. I have a Polar FT60 (Polar brand seems to be the most popular). And I think you get what you pay for. They can be pricey, but WELL worth it. Mine has heartrate, calories burned & many other things on it.
  • bump! Can't wait to try it. And thanks for the picture! Always love seeing what a recipe is supposed to look like :)
  • Okay, so I know I'm WAY late in posting this, but here goes anyways... My lovely little man, Chase, was born on March 15th @ 12:19am. 7lbs6oz & 22" long. I was a week overdue, so I went in to get induced. They started w/ cervidal (sp?) to soften my cervix. 2 hours later at 1130pm, my water broke on its own & they took the…
  • Morning ladies! So the doctor's appointment went okay yesterday. I'm now 2cm dilated & still only 60-70% effaced. He said if I hadn't made progress by NEXT week........my eyes got large & I interrupted & said NEXT WEEK!? He forgot that I'd be 41 weeks on thursday, so then changed his tune ;) I go to the hospital Wed night…

  • I'm STILL here ladies  Have been trying to walk & bounce this baby out, but he's just not having it. The double dose of stubborness he got probably doesn't help  Today I go back to the doctor, yet again....He'll decide when we're going to induce. My guess is that he'll wait til wed/thur/fri, when I'll be 41…

  • Oh Krist, you kill me! I'm really hoping that I don't fart or poop in front of my husband.....but we'll just see how it goes. What makes matters worse is if I DO go into labor tonight or tomorrow, I just had Olive Garden today for lunch......so it's going to be a stinky garlic fart if it does happen!!! Yikes!!! That's…

  • Well, today is the baby's due date & so far, nothing. I have been walking, bouncing on an exercise ball, swinging my hips....he's just a typical male - stubborn ;) Maybe with any luck he'll still make his debut today! Kristing ~ Heartburn is NO fun! I went through a bottle of tums - and I've never taken them pre-pregnancy.…

  • Quick check in from me! Nothing new to report, unfortunately. Still having random contractions....other than that, this baby is stubborn & getting a BIT too comfy ;) Tomorrow is his actual due date, so we'll see if he cooperates!

  • Hey ladies! Just got back from my doctor appt. Made a little bit of progress since last week (I knew the baby was doing something in there the past few nights!). I'm 1cm dilated, 60% effaced. He did a membrane sweep (not the most comfy thing ever). Having a bit of spotting now & slight cramping. Had a bunch of contractions…

  • I've read that it's normal for your blood pressure to go up towards the end, or when the water breaks (one of the two). How exciting that you're going to be a mommy possibly today! Hope all goes well!!! Now if my labor would just start already ;) ~Heather 39 weeks

  • Sharon ~ I do what I can  For the hospital bags, this is what I have: Baby's Diaper Bag - all the basic diaper bag stuff. Pack a nail clippers - I've read that many hospitals don't cut the nails for you. I know everything else I have in his bag will most likely not be used, but better safe than sorry. I also…
  • I did my fair share of research when I was looking & it seemed that the Polar models were always the top choice (for me). I ended up getting a FT60, but I've heard a lot of others are good as well. Would suggest getting one w/ a chest strap for sure (they're more accurate).
  • For me, I like my FT60. Have had it for almost 2 years now. Has a chest strap, has a test that measures your oxygen intake (to setup prior to using), doesn't beep at me if I'm not "in the zone" haha. It was a little pricey when I got it ($160 I think from ebay), but I've certainly gotten good use out of it!! Well worth it!
  • Heart Rate monitor......I have the Polar FT60 & love it!
  • I say "to each their own!!!" ya gotta do what works for YOU. Prior to becoming pregnant, if I ate (especially all) of my workout calories, that scale would not budge (nor the tape measure). I saw more results when I didn't eat the calories back, or if I just dipped into them slightly. Good luck to you! (And great…
  • Morning ladies! I was gone most of yesterday, so missed a bunch of posts, so I had to do some reading :) Denise ~ I didn't realize that other PPOs gave out discounts on breastpumps. I got a "voucher" from mine that gave either a free manual pump or $30 off an electric one. I went w/ the electric one & it ended up being…
  • Denise ~ I think I'll be right there with you w/ a 8-9 pounder! Four weeks ago, he was already 5lbs. He definitely feels big to me, too! Not to mention like 3' long! Happy Valentine's Day all!!!
  • Amanda ~ Don't feel bad about your husband's comment.....I usually get bug eyes when mine looks at me....or he says "he's huge!" (as in, the baby). And there were many goodies that went in the freezer & to my grandparent's :) ---> candy bar cookies, m&m cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, banana bread & finally, apple slices.…
  • Anyone else feel like we should be posting pictures of our Flinstone Feet!? Seriously. I decided to be Betty Crocker yesterday afteroon & made a ton of baked goodies. All was looking fairly fine as far as the feet went & then BOOM, it's like they exploded. Even my TOES are fat!!! I drink lots of water & try to keep my feet…
  • Denise, You are too funny! About the mattress, when I changed our sheets the other day, I thought about washing the mattress pad - but then thought "what's the point if my water breaks in bed!?" haha. And who knows, maybe our water won't even break....I've heard that's pretty common. Who knows though. As for bags being…
  • Denise ~ I'm not much help b/c when I do dvds, I don't tend to do the same one every day (except when I did the JM 30 day shred). I do like the Brazil butt workout though. jchecca ~ I'm right there with you on the kinda being scared about going into real labor (just not knowing what to expect, etc). I haven't even…
  • Morning all! My strep b came back negative - yay! And she did check me, but I was not dilated at all. Guess I didn't figure I would be already, but certainly wouldn't have minded it! Oh man, I almost can't wait to do my hardcore workouts again. I'm feeling like a whale lately. And as sucky as it is to workout sometimes, I…
  • Morning ladies! Had a massage appointment yesterday (fabulous!!! And by they way, they should last longer than an hour! ). Then had my doctor's appointment. Got the strep b test done - wasn't as bad as I had imagined - thought they went *in* the pooper (hehe), but nope! (and thank goodness). Belly is measuring…
  • I'm so glad to hear that there are a few other big babies out there!!! When I had an ultrasound done at 32weeks4days, my guy was measuring 2weeks2days bigger & he was already a 5 pounder! (yikes!).....which means he'd be nearly 6½ pounds now (according to the 1//2# per week anyways). I have my strep test on Monday. Curious…
  • Hop you all don't mind me jumping in....I've been m.i.a. on the boards for a while. Rayna ~ Yay! how exciting is that!? :)
  • Welcome! As for the love handles, I was told planks are great for them. Also, obviously lots of cardio! :) Wishing you tons of luck, you can do it!
