Actually, it did soft open. It was open for roughly two weeks before complaints were high enough from the majority of park guests that they closed it again to work on retooling parts of the attraction before doing another soft opening. It is located in innoventions east, where the waste management recycling game used to…

Um... ADHD has nothing to do with eating candy or ice cream. You can't give yourself ADHD. It's a neurological disability that is mostly genetic in nature. What Does Not Cause ADHD Diet: In the 1970’s it became popular to view ADHD as resulting from allergies or sensitivities to certain food substances. However, much of…

I have issues with fat shaming at a place where they work incredibly hard to make sure that everyone is treated equally regardless of nationality, disability, religion, etc. I also have issues with the fact that in the online version of the exhibit that you could play when you returned home, they downplayed depression and…

This. A 200 calorie slice of cake and a 200 calorie serving of chicken will have the same effect on your weight. It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle. I refuse to live a life without desserts.

It happens most often in women who have either multiple pregnancies, RAPID weight gain, or who are caring for another older child after 2+ pregnancies- if you don't give your rectus abdominis time to heal postpartum, the diastasis increases.

I never said that toning will give you a chiseled midsection. I did however state that it will redistribute weight. Adipose tissues is rather gelatinous. If your abs are severely weakened or damaged (such as during pregnancy) visceral fat will protrude (the dreaded mommy-belly). By strengthening your core (coupled with…

No, but you can tone, which can help shift abdominal weight distribution.

The funny thing about knees is that the entire rest of your body stabilizes the joint, so a pain in your knee could be coming from IT band problems, your TDH, TFLs, etc. I prefer using a foam roller or 2 liter soda bottle to roll out my IT band and calf muscles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9aJtO0VCqw

You also have to remember that with twins, your body went through an epic change, and you may always have "twin skin" due to diastasis of the abdominal muscles.

Roughly $300/month in the winter, $150 in the summer (huge garden and CSA share). 2 adults, not a ton of meat

Just start every day and do it until you no longer hate it and you don't feel like you're going to die anymore. That's how I became a runner the first time. I'm working on it again.

I only purchase meat direct from the farms. They're not over-processed since they're going straight from farmyard to consumer, reducing the need for added preservatives.
-
This is (one of the many reasons) why I only buy freshly butchered, locally sourced, humanely raised meat products.

I know YMCAs offer scholarship/membership fee assistance to community members that could otherwise not afford it.

Have you looked to see what your basal metabolic rate is, and what your daily energy expenditure is? Here's my real life example. My BMR is 1957. That is how many calories I would need to maintain my current weight in a coma. I have a sedentary job, so using the Harris benedict equation, I need 2348 calories to sustain my…

Nuts are great if you're not allergic! Good for your heart, your brain, your eyes, and your calorie intake

OP has had enough calories to sustain body functions. They are not starving. This will not slow their metabolism.

I saw photos of myself from my last vacation, and compared them with my trip 4 years ago. I wanted my healthy body back. My father is dying, and I probably only have one more family vacation with him. I want photos that I can look back at with a smile on my face for years to come.

Any diet that requires you to cut out major food groups on a permanent or semi-permanent basis is not sustainable. Sure, you'll drop weight, but if you ever go back to eating carbs, you'll gain it right back and then some. The best "diet" is choosing to modify your eating patterns in a way that you can continue for life.

Not a smoker here, but married to a former smoker and a child of two smokers (one who quit, one who didn't). My husband quit last year. It took a combination of Chantix, taking up yo-yoing (as in the Duncan variety) to keep his hands busy, and gum and cinnamon/mint toothpicks for oral fixation. My dad quit cold turkey 5…
