  • Best of luck!
  • I have had this issue when eating dinner a few times last week. I can eat my kids chicken nuggets, store bought meat balls and lunch meat with no problems but as soon as i try to eat real pieces of meat i can't handle it. I have made the choice to go back to pureed foods till I learn to eat slower.
  • Thank you, all great suggestions. I will be getting smaller utensils and a bit every 2 minutes should help me pace myself. I think my mistake was I woke didn't drink anything before I ate. I think I need to drink first wait 30 then eat something. I was too anxious to put something in. Can't do that again.
  • Welcome, this is judgement free forum.
  • I would focus on the pool and lay off the elliptical till you lose more weight, unless your doing a very short session. Weight training is a healthier way to burn fat. Since you don't have the option for a trainer(most don't ) I would spend some time watching how to videos on YouTube, I think there are even work out apps…
  • I haven't experienced if yet but most say between 3-9 months. I started taking biotin prior to surgery and I will be restarting once I'm off liquid diet. I also bought nioxin shampoo set. It's suppose to help with hair loss and regrowrh. Making sure your body has enough protein should also help in hair loss. Good luck!! I…
  • Yay so exciting. I just had my surgery on Monday. Make sure you have all you supply's for when you come home and you will be golden. Best of luck!!
  • Monday I am allowed puréed. Then 5 days after that I am allowed soft foods... Can't wait!! Right now I look forward to my chewable vitamins. Let me know when you start cooking good food we can swap recipes!
  • From everything I read and everyone I talked to you should be only losing 2-3 lbs a day for the first week or two. After that when you start introducing foods and higher calorie intake it should start slowing down. Enjoy the lbs shedding off for now. Weight training is the way to avoid loose skin. Soon as I'm able to lift…
  • Hello and Welcome, my name is Megan. I just had VSG on 4/7. I didn't tell a lot of people either just close family and friends. I use my fitness pal and my hospitals wls forum as my support group. I'm on the liquid diet now and will be starting puréed on Monday can't wait to start eating some substance again. Feel free to…
  • Hi Tammy my name is Megan. I just had my surgery on 4/7. I told very few people about my surgery since most people just don't understand. My family tries to understand and I love them for that but I don't think they fully understand. I use my fitness pal and my hospital wls forum as my outside support system. If you need…

  • Do your protein shakes have fiber in them? If not get sugar free flavorless benefiber and add it to your drinks it will help you become regular.
  • Thank you!! I didn't have a PCP either so I scheduled an appointment for a health physical at a local physician group. Then told them I was going to be getting it done. They were willing to write the letter. I have been told since I was little to finish everything on my plate or no dessert. So I started getting smaller…
  • Every program is different... Mine was a 3 hour appointment. I meet with a RN, Social worker, nutritionist, case worker and got all my goals for then next 3 months. They sent me for blood work, get a 2 year history of obesity, get a letter of support from PCP, I had to lose 5% body fat, go to support group, do three months…

  • so sorry to hear... hopefully the new meds work for you!
  • You will be fine, the waiting takes longer the EGD. Try to keep your mind busy so the hunger doesn't get to you. Good Luck and welcome to the group!

  • I am in the pre-op phase and my surgery is scheduled for 4/7. Most insurance companies cover the procedure but they have different copay and coinusrance costs. I recommend to call them first so you know what you are going to be getting into. I had 3 months of weigh-ins, where I needed to lose 16 lbs, I also needed cardio…
  • Very exciting time, I hope the best for you and your speedy recovery!!
  • Mine is April 7 th!!! I've been counting down the days too. I'm excited to begin the journey.
  • You can do it... Try and keep yourself busy! My doctors program is a little bit different... What does the 2 week diet do? What can you eat and drink during your pre-op diet? Why do you need to do 2 weeks? I had to lose 5% body fat to reduce my liver but I had 3 months to lose it. I think I have to do a liquid diet for a…
  • welcome! I am getting the VSG on 4/7. I felt the same way was pretty I was going to get the VSG, my doctor said I would have a higher success rate with the RNY but I made the decision to stick with my first choice. What kind of diet do they have you on?
  • Best of luck!
