  • Yes! I think I could do with this again!
  • Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life! I've been on here over two years and I can't speak highly enough about it. Build a small close knit group of buddies on here that can help motivate and cheer you on, follow the calorie suggestions and get exercising. Just my top tips! Feel free to add me! Good luck with it!
  • So I'm into week 2. I missed Pure Cardio yesterday so got up early to do it before work. So the workout for tonight is plyo which mean I'll be sleeping well tonight! Think I'm going to need the cardio recovery day tomorrow although I found it quite challenging in week 1. I'm not very flexible and have very tight hips so…

  • I use a heart rate monitor. That way you have a much better indication of the number of calories you burn. In this whole journey it has by far been the best investment I have made.

  • I started this week as well and am doing it with a friend at the gym. Day 4 today and it was a cardio recovery which was harder than I expected but probably because I'm not very flexible! Would be great to have some motivation along the way!

  • You've clearly got a snuffling problem! Stop snuffling the crap and pick yourself up Dyson!

  • The build up is painful! I want to opening to start already!
  • I did my first tri just over a month ago and loved it. The things I found most useful in no particular order: 1. Lay out everything you need for transition and workout exactly where you are going to put things for the race that way you'll be familiar with where they are. 2. Practice lots in open water if that's where your…
  • It's still 30 more than you would have done if you didn't have a go so good on you!! Come on ladies let's do it!!!
  • Ladies this is great so many of you up for the challenge!! I did mine this morning and pushed through even though my shoulders were burning from training yesterday!! I did sets of 10 on my toes with a short rest in between. Report back and let us know how you get on! Maybe think about doing this challenge every day for the…
  • Yay that's great!! It'll be morning here in a few hours so I'll try to get mine done in the morniing and report back! Good luck!
  • Yay pin up girls are back!!! Rach I remember you started this off originally around the time I joined MFP and it helped me so much with dropping most of my weight. I need to get back to it to drop the last few pounds. Thanks so much for doing this again!!!
  • I LOVE body pump! I try to go a couple of times a week at the gym. Not sure how well I'd get on if I was doing it at home though. I have noticed the change in my body tone literally all over but mainly my legs. I love the feeling of seeing how I have been able to increase my weights as time as gone on. I'm not a fan of…
  • Morning and welcome to MFP!! This site will really change your life! I know it did for me. If anything it made me more aware of what I'm eating and coupled with the support and motivation and a recipe for success! Best piece of advice is to join groups and make friends on here! The support is so encouraging that it pushes…

  • Couldn't agree more! Pup thanks for putting it together - it certainly is impressive. And the sentiment I agree with completely. You're a special friend pup and I couldn't do it without you and all my pals! Merry Christmas and hope you have a super 2012!
  • My experience of body pump classes varies. I think the Les Mills guide is a lot higher than reality. For me I burn anywhere between 250-450 depending on whether I have been doing cardio beforehand. Best way to measure is a heart rate monitor. Seriously the best investment I have ever made!
  • Hi all! I grew up in Harrow but now live near St Albans. I work in the city so even though I live in Herts I still most definitely consider myself a Londoner! I've been on MFP since August 2010 and absolutely love it. Have had a couple of weeks off from training but kicked myself back into it today! I've signed up for my…

  • Hi! I'm a member at the Hatfield club. I do a lot of classes there - combat, pump, tri, circuits, spinning etc. it's a lovely club and everyone is so friendly now that I know them! At first it was a bit snobby but once you get past that it's all good! I do need to get swimming more!
  • So so so so so effing proud!!! Absolute rockstar!
  • Some really useful info and links in this post. I occasionally suffer with my lower back so am going to add in some of what has been suggested. Thanks! And good luck to the OP - hope you get some relief soon.
  • Steph I'm reading How to be a Woman by Caitlin Moran at the moment. Very much making me chuckle! Light hearted in parts and very feminist in others! Others have recommended to me - but I haven't got to reading yet - The Namesake, Notes on a Scandal and The Believers. Happy reading!
  • I have a 10k in about 3 hours!! It's only my second race and the nerves have already kicked in! Need to turn them into positive thoughts!!
  • Sounds yum! Will give them a try!
  • So much useful info on this thread but not enough time to read it all now! Bump for later. And thanks for sharing!
  • Bump! Thanks for sharing!
  • I was told my two different trainers that the more you sweat the fitter you are because your body is more efficient at cooling you down during your workout and especially towards the end when you are stretching out. I like that version better than it being down to genetics!
  • Everyone's different but for me I usually have a small banana before an early morning workout. I eat usually about 20 mins before hand. I find that when I don't I'm not able to have as much of an effective workout because I'm lacking in energy. If you feel that you can train just as well without then do what feels right.
  • Hell yeah! This looks like great fun!
  • I LOVE Les Mills classes! I do pump once a week and combat twice a week. I used to do attack every Sunday but stopped for a while as I was getting bored but I went again this Sunday and loved it all over again. I also do balance occasionally. My favourtie is without question combat. I am a total combat addict! The…
  • Sounds good to me! I have bought something similar from Holland and Barratt (health food shop) but as good as they are it's all processed so these sounds great! I'll give them a go. I'll probably have to use honey as well.
