I just read your blog.... Wow! You are now officially my favourite success story. Your weight loss is a triumph for you and your family. Congratulations!

I am 5'6 and 168 pounds. Always on the look out for new mfp pals, feel free to add me!

Same here. As a rule I try not to and count it as 'bonus' towards weight loss. However, we all have one of 'those' days where we need the extra. lol.

Cameron Diaz, sporty and fit.

"Less than healthy food'...is that better? God. Is it necessary to nit pick and be so condescending? Feel better now? I gave my opinion, if you didn't like it you could have kept scrolling. I am sorry you have that problem...the one where you have to jump on people to make yourself feel better about yourself.

I don't recommend making food rewards, it sets a bad precendent and puts you in the mind set that bad food is a treat. Steer clear from that and see food as a neccessity and the rewards be more material based that you can do now you are fitter etc. Like new clothes, shoes accessories. I break my weight loss goals into…

By your own admission, you know what you need to do. I guess, to put it simply, you need to just do it. Making changes is never easy, no one promised it would be. It comes down to this...would you rather eat out or be fit? If you are still eating out and not making the changes you know you should then you just don't want…

Eggs, chicken, tuna, yoghurt (make sure its not packed with sugar), a big variety of fruit and veg and protein bars and shakes for on-the-go meals.

To borrow the motivational tool used in AA...Just get through today. Just for today, don't eat crap. Just for today, move a little bit more. Then apply the same thinking tomorrow. Then the next. Eventually you will find your mojo and you won't need the AA mantra. Its what I did to quit smoking and then to get my fat…

You look fantastic. Well done. :-)

No. None of us have actually been obese. You are the only one.

I agree with with what the others have said. In addition, I use to feel hungry all the time but now I realise that I was use to feeling 'over-full'. If you are an over-eater than you are simply re-training your body AND mind to be eating the right amount.

This thread is brillant! lmao

LOL! Quote of the day.

Yep. And a another big one is "Here, have a <insert unhealthy food>" as way of providing comfort or reward.

We too bought a Wii and its great for those days you can't get outside. The personal trainer game kicks my *kitten*. I often burn more calories on that then I do on outside stuff. And my 12 year old loves it.

I want to do it every day but I try to resist and do it weekly on sundays. I obsess and get upset if it I don't lose. I know, totally irrational but there it is. So weekly for me and even now I am thinking of pushing it out to 2 weeks as my weight loss slows down. Rome wasn't built in a day and my weight loss won't occur…

To be honest, alot of young men are superficial. In their early 20's alot of guys are worried more about how a girl looks then if they are good to talk to. Now, (before I get crucified) I am generalising but in my experience, its mostly true. Then they grow up. They realise that the girl they want to marry is first and…

I was going to say pretty much the same thing on every point. lol. I did WW years ago and did lose weight. It was a good starting off point but I don't think it really educated me about the 'worth' of food due to the 0 points etc.

:-) Sheldon is awesome.

I hover between 1200 to 1500 cals a day and what end of the scale i end up on depends on how much i burn. If I dont exercise, I drift around 1200. If I have gone hard and burnt alot, I tend to need around the 1500 mark. So it vaires.
-
This may sound silly but my motto is "If I can sing doing it, its not exercise". So basically, hard core work outs are the only things I log.
-
Don't lose heart. Just remember... "I'm not there yet but I'm closer than I was yesterday".

You look fantastic!

I disagree. I have been both an addict of substance and overweight. The two are the same. High sugar foods give off the same 'feel good' receptors in the brain, like dopamine. Really, you could split the feeling you get from substance abuse and abusing food. Its defintely the same family. For me anyway.

You look fantastic! Well done.

Unresolved emotional issues that manifested physically. "letting yourself" get overweight is like saying a depressed person 'lets themselves be unhappy". Its easy to see what you need to do, doing it is another thing all together. Personally, I always thought I looked better than I actually did. lol. Denial is an…

For sure. The Personal Trainer game on the wii is the best. I almost passed out. Highly reccommend!

I'm from rural Nsw too! I would like some friends on here for a bit of support too :-)
