  • I just got my Jawbone as well and would love to add Team Members. I've tried adding some from this group, but it can't find by email. But please feel free to add me! I am an over 40 Mom of 3 and need to get back to my ideal weight after gaining back over 30 of the nearly 80 that I lost. :-( mom2kea@gmail.com
  • I just started Phase 2 yesterday. I kinda breezed through Phase one, and cut it short. I did NROL4W this summer and added lots of muscle. Then, durning Phase 3 of that I really strained my back and did not want to go back to it., that combined with lots of travel in August set me back some, but I still did not need the…
  • I would definitely ditch Body Pump. I have done it off and on for years, and love it. Love the social environment, music, instructors, etc. However, when I decided to do NROL4W, I committed to it, BP would impede your progress. I got so much stronger so quickly with NROL. It's amazing.
  • Wow! I see a huge difference! Look at your tummy! Look at your legs! You look fab, girl!
  • Don't feel stupid! I started stage 2 today, and I think he does his best, but it still not crystal clear in the book. That's what these message boards are for!
  • You look younger than me, so I hope yours will look better! My cup size doesn't change much, but my band size does. At my largest I'm a 38 DD. I'm almost to goal weight now, and I'm a 34 DDD. At goal weight that should be more like a 32 E. Sounds big, but they are actually pretty proportioned to my ample rear end, LOL.…
  • This is soooooo depressing. According to this, in order to lose weight I would have to be at 1335 on non-workout days, and only around 1650 on workout days. I'm afraid I would be STARVING on that little calories. it is the exact opposite of what Fat2Fit said for me, which was to eat more. I fear I will never be able…

  • I was on Phentermine for 8 months and lost 50 lbs. My doctor limited my carbs and had me on 5 meals a day of 250 cal each. I exercised regularly with strength and cardio and really ate more like 1400-1500 cal/day. I have been of it for about 6 weeks now, but still sometimes take it on the weekends to help a little.
  • By "in line with" do you mean when you push down to the floor your chest is closer to the bar? That is the correct postiton, this allows your chest muscles to engage fully. Your legs should be fully stretched out so you are in plank position.
  • Awesome! Thanks everyone, can't wait to try this on Friday!
  • Did my first NROL today, and I am so excited to see how my body can change. I have lost 60lbs over the last year, from eating a VLCD and exercise. I have been doing 2 days of Body Pump classes at my gym along with 2-3 days of step classes, and other cardio. I feel a little guilty because I am used to hour long workouts,…
  • My daughter and I made a promise at the end of March that we would take our measurements and weight, and not get on the scale again for one month. We would instead gauge our success by how well we had followed our program. I failed miserably. I have gotten on the scale several times. It is a very difficult habit to break.…

  • I've looked at the site and did the calculations. On MFP my BMR is set to 1630 but according to Fat2Fit, it should be 1676 and my TDEE is 2011. Now, I'm pretty damn active and lately I've been burning 600-700 cals a day in workouts. I usually take my BMR at 1676 and eat all my exercise calories back. Basically, I eat…
  • Of course you have to have a deficit. Once again, your BMR is your Basal Metabolic Rate, the number of calories your body burns COMPLETELY at rest, such as laying in bed all day long and never leaving it. Once you do anything, you begin to burn above that. TDEE is your Total Daily Energy Expenditure. Which is your basic…
  • It is true that they do not cite research on their podcast, but I don't know if that's true for their book. However there is cited research all over the internet to back the claim that you should NEVER eat below your BMR especially for any length of time. Your BMR is what your body needs to function if you were in a coma…
  • Ok, I'll try and not be too long winded here. I began the Fat2Fit method about 3 weeks ago, and it can be confusing, and shocking if you are used to a VLCD. There will be all kinds of responses posted here with varied opinions. Do your research, give it time, and come to your own conclusions. A little background on me. I…
  • You go, Glen Coco!!! You look amazing. (hope you get the Mean Girls reference, my daughters and I say this to each other all the time, lol!)
  • Thanks for the feedback. I decided to keep it on normal. That number was identical to the number my doctor gave me from one of those hand held ones. I would love to find a bod pod in my area to get a more accurate reading. Still not going to weigh myself for one month, so we'll see what kind of change I have in April.
  • Bump. .i hope someone can answer this!
  • Since this is not the first time I have lost a significant amount of weight (80lbs in 2000, gained it back in 09) I am experiencing this phenomenon again, and I had forgotten all about it! I think for many people, they are very comfortable in their place in the relationship, and when you change, they no longer have the…
  • It can be frustrating, if weight loss were easy, there would be no obesity epidemic! I will try to give you some advice from my (unfortunately) very high experience level with losing weight. I lost 80lbs over 10 years ago, kept it off for 4 years, then high stress, put on 40, lost that and began working for weight…
  • It's interesting how we think adding a few hundred calories sounds so daunting, but if you break it down into just adding a few more nutritious calories at each meal, it's pretty easy. Good for you!
  • I have been reading, reading, running numbers. I keep coming to 2200/cal a day. I have lost 58 lbs since August on around 1400/day. (def more on the weekends, but never above 1900) I do cardio and strength training 5-6 days a week. I am down to that last 15 lbs, and my weight loss has slowed. My husband has been concerned…
  • Oh, your post made me laugh!!! I have 3 teenage daughters, who I love dearly. However teens by nature are completely selfish. I know exactly what you mean. I'm sure you do have healthy stuff around, but when us Moms are craving and we know that there is something we bought FOR OURSELVES to help us in those moments, and you…
  • I'm not a swimmer, but my teenage daughter is a competitive swimmer and practices with a Division 2 college team 5 days a week. If you could see how beautifully toned she and all of the swimmers are, you would add more than just one day a week! Not only for your arms, but your core will improve dramatically. When it is…
  • [/quote] Depending on your size, weight and activity levels you absolutely can lose on 2000 calories - there are loads of women on MFP that have. I understand the trepidation, especially if you have been on a much lower target for a while - it seems counter-intuitive at first. I find that the easiest thing to do is to put…
  • I am still trying to figure all this out, my head is swimming. I read heybales lengthy post on this over a week ago, and I can't remember what it told me to eat, but do remember being shocked at how much it was. Plus, I was very unsure of how to judge my activity level. i am a stay at home mom, and do light housework every…
  • I just requested you. :-) I only have one friend on MFP besides my daughter, but even knowing that one person is out there has made me track, and log-in when I otherwise would have blown it off. I'm new to MFP, but not weight-loss. (really, are any of us doing this for the "first time"-LOL) I was using spark people before,…
  • Been there, done that! I'll repeat what other's have said, which is you can absolutely do it. But set realistic goals for yourself. If you set the bar too high, then find your not going to reach that 35 lb goal, you are likely to fall off the wagon again. And even if you are 20lbs lighter by then, that's better than where…
