please feel free to add me - //www.fitbit.com/user/22TFTX I do between 10k to 16k per day, sometimes more, sometimes less
-
excellent job - what a great example!

-- ME TOO!!! Friend me if you are also going to take a similar journey. Also - on fitbit I'm at https://www.fitbit.com/user/22TFTX - I have about 100 pounds to lose - and I've done all the research and talked to doctors - I'm going to also walk like crazy and do a vlcd at least for the initial 50 pounds....
-
fantastic job. I think you tackled it very thoughtfully...way to go!! what's the next steps?
-
not too much.
-
yeah - most would say thats not the way to go. but you know what, I've read here a lot of people saying it worked for them. I did it once this way (crash diet). and it worked for me too. I think if you are careful with nutrients, I think this is ok short term. like losing 100 pounds quick for an very obese person (if you…

a salad diet? I assume by this you basically saying you didn't exercise and crash dieted? (under 1200 calories)? I'm cool w/ whatever works for people. any further thoughts/musings on how you did it and how the process went?
-
well done. out of curiosity - in the later pics you are standing near a can of diet pepsi, a tub of morton's salt, and an open pack of brown spice (cinnamon I'm guessing). some diet secret?
-
thank you for the inspiration! great job.
-
hi Vismal - thanks for all the wisdom. I really like your notes on the IIFIYM technique...but do you have any thoughts "Gary Taubes, Why We Get Fat: And What to Do About It", where in part he says the below (the part that confuses me is that he seems to be saying we should all go super low carb....but that isn't in keeping…
-
first off - thanks for the great example and insights. also, if you are entering in calories...aren't you tracking? anyways...trying to enter in food on MFP so that I can be more mindful.
-
thanks guys - I just tried setting my activity level to 1 notch higher...so sedentary to now "lightly active"....my calorie allotment jumped from 1639 calories to exactly 2000 a day...that seems like a lot. but I guess I will try it for a week or two and see how it goes....funny how everyone else in the world seems to be…
-
that was awesome thanks. and thanks everyone for your thoughts. I'm eating some cherries as I type this. ;)
-
forgot to add - yes, like most people here - I take a protein powder or shake supplement. for powder I like the Met-Rx vanilla you find at TraDER Joe's. It tastes pretty good, and has a blend of proteins (I'm not necessarily looking at it for muscle optimization, more for added overall protein in my veggie diet). for shake…

yeah.

feel free anyone to friend me up - but I defy labeling since in many ways I'm now more immature than in my twenties!! (I think that's the usual progression for guys though). ;)
-
muahahaa. not much left in the world once you take these out. so like bread and meat is your goto eh? good luck w/ that.
-
all the calculations are just approximations and educated guessing - you need to temper w/ real world effects for your specific body and ignore or follow the numbers from time to time. plenty of papers out there w/ even more detailed number crunching which maybe one of the others here can provide - but I guarantee you it…

love them. so too long will always be the answer.
-
fantastic post - thanks!

whole food, even slow food, due to only 3 ingredients, ...... but better than other regular cookies or brownies in what way?
-
I think most siblings are very selfish (at least both of mine are). One in particular is super bad, and I haven't been able to walk away but its caused me to face deep choices....so I have an inkling of what you may mean. Nothing will make it easy, but just remember not to lose yourself as you deal w/ outside…
-
I basically with you, but want to ask you and everyone - how many is it safe/healthy to eat in a day? 2-3? That would be my guess. Putting aside the cholesterol issue (which isn't proven one way or the other), whole eggs aren't a super efficient source of protein as they have a lot of fat....they are great, but I don't…

I think this is offensive to those who are easily offended. report!!
