  • :) :) Happy even though I did not win my diet bet, it was set to have me lose 9 lbs in a month. I didn't lose that but I did lose 6.9 lbs in a month. And Im happy....I only joined the diet, to support my cousin. Sara- Im glad your dog is doing well and responding well to meds . Hope everyone else is doing well. Going to…
  • Waves to all & Hope everyone had a great weekend Welcome Baileysmama I'm dragging so much today, not a lot of sleep last night, not sure why. I just tossed and turned all night. My 5:15am alarm went of for the gym and I just could not get myself out of bed. Then I proceeded to lay in bed wide awake for about 2 more hours.…
  • Hi I would recommend you to find the weight gaining forum. I'm sure there's plenty of folks on that part of the community that can assist you
  • Wow... I'm always so surprised at the back and forth on this website. Can't we all just agree, to understand that NOT one of us are the same. What works you may not work for all. Some people are addicted to alcohol. Some are not, and can drink in moderation......some can't . I find sugar to be extremely addictive. So, I…
  • Congrats on you loss so far!! These last 15lbs, can be little harder to come off. Don't let it discourage you.
  • **raises** hand Lost almost 60lbs. Got back on track several times. Literally lost and gained the same 15lbs-20lbs about 5 times. When logged back on MFP i was almost back to square. Use this a lesson. Remember what happened and why. Im 45 days back in down 10lbs
  • Hi Andi and welcome. My Suggestion to beginners is usually the same. Too much in the beginning, can sometimes be over whelming. So I say take a few things at a time. Focus on logging your food, weighing, practicing portion control, logging honestly. You can set your goal to maintenance calories so that you can take 2/3…
  • Morning !! 1st - Woohoooo to new PRs!!! Mango, I know all to well ( Im sure we all do) those horrible comments can stick with you. Im lucky my husband who has seen me at all weights, from 160 @ 19 years old to 250 after having our daughter at 27. And many places in the middle. Has never not once made a comment about my…
  • hhmmm, You know whats up and seem to know the deal. The TOM is something serious. And will cripple me right in the middle of a great on track week. If I don't realize its time, I'll think its stress that Im feeling all out of wack. Then BAM!! Also when I journal, I'm writing about how I'm feeling and why I am feeling that…
  • I find a few things help me. Some form of daily exercise, some days its just walking 20 minutes, some days its much more. But the longer I go without exercise , the easier the stress piles on. Journal my feelings before I eat in high stress times. So this does a couple of things: 1- makes me identify with being stressed,…
  • Hi Welcome!! Wishing you well on your journey! I believe there is a bariatric group ( go to the group tab and search bariatric or the type of surgery you are having) or there maybe even a ongoing message board .
  • *** Waving *** Hello from Maryland :) I made it through my first intermittent fasting day. Tomorrow I will do it again. I remembered my lunch today, so I at least have that going for me today. The teenager has tutoring today. So I have to come with something quick, healthy and easy. I usually have something in the crockpot…
  • **raises hand** Stress and emotional eater, here :s
  • Thanks Mango. I ended up with the salad because the line at the hibachi place was way to long for my lunch break And Im always up for advice .
  • Hi All!! Thanks for the warm welcoming! **waving** So frustrated. I left my lunch at home, so now I have to venture out in to the real world and make healthy decisions. My healthy options are a salad from chick fila or chicken and veggies from the hibachi place. So at least I have some sort of a plan... right. Today was…
  • Welcome, Tips: If you are new to tracking your food, I would change your calories to "maintain" and take 2 weeks focus on learning on how to log all of your food. Logging consistently and honestly is a huge part of this. Weighing your food, and logging everything. I usually try to leave a cushion of 100 calories for…

  • Congrats on you loss!! And thanks to your Significant Other, for their service.
  • Squats are a multi muscle exercise - meaning you work more than one muscle while doing them correctly. Weighted or not. You are working : Inner Thigh Outer Thigh Booty Lower Tummy Lower Back And there are some many variations of squats, you should never get bored
  • Dang Larry, for 76, you have more tech then I do !! Welcome to MFP and Im glad you on the road to healthier years to come
  • Welcome!! &added!
  • Maybe aim for 40/50 lbs loss, and then at that point eat at maintenance and just work on toning.
  • A week without a loss, is nothing to freak out about. So many reasons for seeing the scale not moving even on a week when you did everything correctly. When this happens to me, I make sure a i get good nights sleep and get back on the scale the next day.
  • Wear shorts and a 2 piece !
  • **Waves*** Hi all New to the group... but not new to weight loss. A little bit of history: Started out with WW in 2008 @ my first weigh in was 239lbs Left WW,went to Livestrong, for calorie tracking and continued to loss weight. The livestrong website was wonky and super slow alot and I ended here on MFP in 2011(maybe) but…
  • Awesome, so happy you found your way to healthier you
  • **raises hand** Stress and emotional eater here, if there was a magic way to get rid of stress and emotion then I would be skinny as a rail. But the 2 things that I know help me in this battle are: journaling my feelings and staying active. Active doesn't have to be running, it can just be walking. Just making myself aware…
  • Congrats on your loss and awesome goal you set for your self. Don't let the scale drive you crazy, take measurements, pictures. Or even go by a piece of clothing that doesn't quite fit right now, every few weeks see how it fits different 1 lb = 3500 calories. To gain 4 lbs in 1 days is highly impossible . 3500 x 4 = 14000…
