  • My 15 yo DD and I went on a 5 mile run downtown and caught the sun rise. I usually run by myself with my CD player but between the beautiful views and the company it was truly enjoyable.
  • 5 miles for me this morning. Alisha, I hope that you feel better soon.
  • What a great idea!
  • Oops, I missed the quote button. :embarassed:
  • I just ordered My Fitness Coach. I'll report back once I have used it a few times. I do want to clarify this is *not* the Wii Fit or Wii Jillian Michaels. Apparently My Fitness Coach is on back order and ships in 2-3 weeks.
  • Got in my 3 1/2 miles this morning. I'll be working all day tomorrow and Thursday so I won't be able to run. Happy New Year! :drinker:
  • I don't like them at all.
  • I'm glad that you asked about this. Our family just got a Wii and I like the hula hoop games and the yoga/strength parts for toning. I feel my abs and hips in ways I have never felt before, LOL. I was hoping that I could use Wii Fit for cardio on days when the weather makes it hard or impossible to run outdoors. So far I…
  • It sounds like this is exactly what I am looking for. I know that the reviews are good but would also appreciate feedback from MFPers. Reposted from the hula hoop thread: following.

  • I got 4 miles in this morning. Wishing everyone a good run/workout/rest day!
  • After 2 1/2 weeks being snowed in I finally got in a 3 1/2 mile run, then took the chains off my van. I'm not sure which one was more of a workout!
  • I only did 2.5 miles, slowly too. But I feel better than if I did not run.
  • I ran my first race in 23 years on Saturday. It was a 5K and I told my family to meet me at the finish line 40 minutes after the start. (I had tried to go fast on my regular 3.5 mile route a few days before and it took me 43 minutes.) They weren't there yet because I finished in 30:36. I am still shocked.
  • I did a 3 1/2 miles this morning in 45 min. I have a 5K race this Saturday and I hope to break 40 min. but now I'm not sure that is realistic. Oh well, there will be pancakes after the race, LOL! Stay cool everyone!:drinker: Oops, I was logged in as my husband.:blushing:
  • I did 6 miles with two 10 minute rests, one to take in the waterfront and one to see my girls do new tricks on the monkey bars and the wiggle board.
  • My race is 5 miles. I know that is not much considering the company here, but I am psyched because I know I can do it. Thank you all for the inspiration. :flowerforyou:
  • I have been insanely busy at my 2 jobs and 5 kids out of school but today I had to post: I did 5 miles for the first time since highschool!! I have only been running 2-3 times per week but I have been bike commuting 2 days per week and now 4 miles is my short run. And I registered for my first race since highschool. Woohoo!
  • That is how I felt today. I did my 4 miles this evening and 3 3/4 miles last night.
  • Kechie, Congratulations on your 8 miles.:flowerforyou: Terry, Wow! that's over 2 hours of running at once.:drinker: Pam, Thanks for the motivation and know that I'm on your tail. I hope to increase my distance to 5 miles by the end of summer. I did my 4 mile run this morning, a first in that I ran 4 miles yesterday…
  • I got my second 4 mile run in today so I met my weekly goal of 2- 4 mile and 2- 3 1/2 mile runs this week and I threw in an extra 2 1/2 mile run for mental health, LOL!
  • I am a big believer in listening to your body. You know the benefits of fitness and will be able to do a long run when it is right for you, it might even come on a "short run" day. :flowerforyou:
  • Mee too! And I counted seven other runners berween 5:50 and 6:25, woohoo to all of us out there!:drinker:
  • Got 3.5 miles in this afternoon.
  • Wow Kechie thanks for sharing how you started. I just assumed that you had been seriously running for years considering how long you run now. I do feel pretty safe jogging in my neighborhood. Many people look weird here  but there are always people around, even at 5 am. I definitely need my headphones but I turn the…
  • LOL, that was such a vivid picture. You are too funny!
  • I have an autistic son and 4 girls, one who is recovered from autism. MFP is a great tool that helps me take care of myself so that I can better take care of others. We are all in this together. :flowerforyou:
  • Got my 4 miles in today. My plan for the week is to do 2-4 mile runs and 2- 3 1/2 mile runs.
  • Wow Kechie, how inspiring!:drinker: Congratulations to all who ran today. I bike commuted to work today but plan to run tomorrow.
