Boot camp at 5:30 am. I sleep in my work out clothes, get water bottle, heart rate monitor and shoes out and by the door the night before. Alarm goes off at 5:05, I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth, don't even wash my face. There is no traffic that time of the morning! By the time I really wake up I am almost done.…

Consider Vibrams. I got knee pain while upping my mileage, and shifting LOL! I switched to Vibrams my knee pain went and stayed away. They are also less expensive per mile compared with traditional running shoes. You want to go slowly at first because different muscles are used with barefoot running, but that is what…

I second considering this option. Ask your physician. There are also benefits to both you and baby when pregnancy is started at a more healthy weight, so Mirena might be a good option, especially since you were planning to wait a couple of more years.

When I started MFP the first time I was nursing toddler twins and lost 35 lbs in about 7 months. I did not add additional calories though I did make sure to eat my exercise calories. No problem with milk supply and my girls continued to nurse occasionally until they self-weaned. I think that the calories used with…

I am midwife with experience attending birth center, hospital, and home births, currently practicing at a tertiary hospital. I love the work wherever it is. :)

I had been increasing my mileage too quickly and got significant knee swelling with some pain associated with running (and shifting, LOL!) I took off 2 weeks from running and it still did not feel right to run and mild pain started after only 1/2 mile. My husband suggested running barefoot and it instantly felt better and…

I do some calorie shifting or exercise shifting within a day in either direction. For example if I do a long run and burn say 800 calories then plan a rest day I'll split the exercise minutes in half with the next (rest) day. Alternatively, if I already put the exercise in but find that I have a lot of calories left at the…

Thank you for your input Azdak. I am still on a steep learning curve with my new toy, lol. I have been running for almost 3 years and I know that before that time my resting heart rate was @ 76 so it is lower now that I am more fit. I just still have quite a way to go. ;) I plan to figure out Polar's OwnZone feature on the…

I may be a freak too. I just got my Polar F11 HRM and took the fitness test twice. Both times it put me at elite at 60 and 61. Now I'm not a couch potato but I can't be in that good of shape. I am 5' 9" 173# 40 yo female and run 6-10 miles per week. Even at a very comfortable pace my HR is > 160 and to get it below 145 to…

2400 calories, wow! I hope that you enjoy them. :drinker: I got in a short 3.5 mile run this morning. I was sick yesterday but did the wet sock treatment last night and felt OK in the morning. Then I ran and felt even better.

Ran to work, 4.5 miles and ran another 2 home before my blisters  had me walking sans left shoe, lol! Not sure what happened though. My right foot was fine and I have never had trouble with these shoes before.

I got My Fitness Coach this week and it has been great so far. :glasses: I enjoy Wii Fit and Outdoor Challenge (and Rock Band) for active family fun. Even preschoolers can do Outdoor Challenge pretty well and I may have a five year old yoga diva on my hands. My Fitness Coach is much more individualized and challenging…

I did 3.5 miles this morning, ditch digging this afternoon, LOL!
-
No running for me today or yesterday and probably not for 4 more days. I am getting great workouts though. DH ordered a dumpster to remove dirt in our yard (now mud with all the rain.) So I've been shoveling dirt into a wheelbarrow and loading it int the dumpster. Ditch digging is quite the calorie burner.

I did a fun 3 miles downtown then a yoga class.
