  • Can I join? How?
  • When my kids were very little they told me I had a belly like jello - it shook when I laughed. So we started calling it jelly belly - I weighed 165 at 5'7. I wish I was that size again without all this hard work. Dieting leads us to being massively overweight - I am making lifestyle changes this time around so I'll never…
  • My first grandson turns 1 6/25 - so very happy. Also found out grandson #2 is coming in October. Really watching my macros/calories/carbs and have finally started taking weight/inches off again. Very happy!

  • I would like to be a part of this group. I am 63 and have used MFP for years. Really trying to take off more as I still have about 85-95 to go. roserex if you want to add me as a friend from Bettendorf Iowa
  • Am I joined by typing a comment here? I'm from Iowa. Still working, apparently insurance is critical. My husband is laid off. My gym like most everything is closed. So I am walking outside a mile and walking inside a mile with air squats and pushups and occasional elyptical instead of walking. I find with the stress of all…
  • If you dramatically increased your carbs they can increase your appetite. It seems the more carbs you eat the more your body wants it to eat.
  • For optimum benefits make your chocolate (which I too have every night) 70% or higher dark chocolate or even with almonds. 70% doesn't have the bitter taste, but has a lot less sugar. I sometimes (if I have room in calories/macros-top it with 1 tbsp peanut butter).
  • SO TRUE. Mine started with a marriage retreat and I gained almost 5 pounds. I watched the carbs, but didn't count my total calories - BIG mistake. Hopefully off as easy as it went on as I have a long way to go.
  • I make a crustless lemon whip (0 carbs) and cheesecake (don't eat crust or make with chopped almonds)
  • Well I've been sick for 3-4 days but still managed to do my little stationery bicycle thing and to stay almost within calorie goal. However, they put me on a steroid for a week so not sure how that will impact my weight loss but as of right now I am down 31 lbs total. Feels good to move off the twenties! Hopefully the move…
  • I would like to join but I do not see the "green" join button. I am 57, married, mother of 2 grown wonderful kids and live in Iowa. I've been a member of MFP for years but haven't done much on the group side. I have good health, but need to get a ton of weight off. Since January I am down 31 pounds. I am finding that I…
  • I do believe that with God's help everything is possible. I'm down 29 lbs and have done it slowly over 6 months and I have a lot to go. Most people have started telling me - diet - jump start it - do it faster. However, I want this to be permanent. So I believe in order for that to be - you have to change your mind, look…
  • Amazing - thanks for sharing
  • Your post was awesome and positive and for me confirmation. I am much older (live in Iowa) and also have a ton of weight to take off. I've been working on it for 6 months and have lost 29 lbs. My motto on my desk and always in my mind is "Discipline is just choosing between what you want NOW and what you want MOST!". I…
  • How do you get the flag on your stream of total weight lost to date? I was getting discouraged in not meeting my calorie goal so I kind of blew it for a week - only to find out that my fitbit wasn't syncing with myfitnesspal so my exercise wasn't being taken into account in the calculations so I was doing better than I…
  • Happy April lst. It is a bright sunny warm day here in Iowa. The walk along the river on break is awesome. Hopefully this will bring a good return on Sunday when I weigh in. Happy early Easter too!
  • I get to walk daily along the Mississippi River and the view is inspiring. I dream of the size 12-14 I used to wear. I know eventually, I will get there this time. Sorry, I forgot to say this is Ethel in Quad Cities, Iowa.
  • I have lost 23 1/2 lbs since Jan lst but I have a long way to go. I hope you can include me as a member in this new link you are talking about. Love to hear all your success stories.
  • How does one become a member of this group? I have been with MFP for years - restarted this Jan and have lost 20.2 but have so very far to go. Sounds like you all really support each other. Thanks. roserex (Quad Cities, Iowa)
  • How do I add this message board to my groups on my profile page?
  • I have been back to MFP since Jan (member off/on for years) not really sure how to stay longed into this string. Do we just comment and that is how we get included? Down 20.2 lbs since January - but I have a very long way to go. I'm not so good at getting friends found on here - Ethel Quad Cities, Iowa.
  • I've been back about two months. Lost 20 but over 100 more to go. Count me in!
  • how do I join this group. I have been on MyFitness Pal forever, but since January, I have actively been using this again as well as my fitbit. I am in this for the long term this time and need help with sustaining motivation. I am here in Iowa in the Quad Cities that borders the Mississippi. I work downtown and cannot wait…
  • I am not a vegetarian, but normally I do crossfit which is pretty intense. I don't follow it strictly, but the paleo diet they recommend also requires a high protein. I find I can meet it if I drink a protein shake (good one) after my workout. I don't know if you can eat eggs, but they help too. I also eat gree yogurt -…
  • Thanks for sharing your story. I have a long way to go to. Great to hear of your success.
  • I just rejoined a while back and would love to be in a group. I may be the oldest one here; but if you don't mind I don't. I have 110 lbs to get rid of and I have lost 2 so far. I joined a gym and I am working out 5 days a week. I cannot get there on the weekends.
  • I just rejoined not too long ago. Good luck on your journey. It is great to take control now instead of waiting till you have over 100 lbs to take off. I am looking at never dieting again - just eating healthy and finding out where my problem areas are.
  • I too am a slow loser. Last week I worked out 5 times after work - cardio everyday and strength training twice - I did not lose any. At first I would normally have been very disappointed - but the flip side - I didn't gain anything either. I did blow in on my food this weekend and no exercise on top - but I didn't gain any…
  • I too love it. I steam mine and barely touch some butter to it. The trick is to get the skinny ones and steam a short time. (Bright green). Crisper is better. Sometimes I will throw on Mrs. Dash seasonings (lots to choose from). However, I am going to try some of these other recipes-sounds wonderful.
  • It was great to have this information. We do get too focused on the scale instead of the inches
