Hi! I’m Najla! I’m 56 and live in Colorado. My January goals are: ✍️ Log daily 📈 Work toward hitting my macros 💪 Begin building muscle 🚶♀️ Walk 3x a week

I actually decided to cut out all sugar 6 days ago because I am so addicted to it. If I taste it, I crave it and like an addict, can't control the amount I eat. I just can't be around it, unfortunately. Today is day 6 with no sugar including fruit , dairy and artificial sweeteners. I will reintroduce fruit slowly (and…

Awesome work!

Two years in a row I have gone for 11 months only to have a period on the 12th. This year I am praying I go 12 months... If I can make it through June - I'll have done it!

Yes - some of the JC food isn't pretty, but honestly, it is tasty. The only thing I can't eat is the chili. It looks gross and tastes that way. I'm at 1200 calories a day. But I end up eating more like 1350 because I'll add extra fruit during the day or veggies. Thanks for everyone's answers! I just needed some…

Yeah - if you are eating a ton of carbs -- like "white" or processed carbs - that's something you should look at changing. I wouldn't suggest anything extreme, like Atkins - but keep an eye on how many of your calories are coming from carbs like breads, potatoes, corn, pasta, rice and such. Also sugar... oh the dreaded…

Ladyinwaiting - I am 5'5 -- When I was 140 (which is my goal too), I wore size 6/8 bottoms and 8/10 tops. I was very happy with how I looked!

ZebraBri - How long did it take you to lose 87 lbs? You said "last summer" - so I just want to make sure. Don't be discouraged. Many many women hit a plateau and it can last for months. I am not a doctor or a weight loss expert but here is what I know: 1. Eat healthy - don't be a perfectionist about it - A treat here and…

I've read lots of articles that discuss how as women age -- particularly if they are menopausal -- they gain in their midsection. I certainly have noticed this to be true and I'm 45. Also - YES! Back fat! UGH... that has been growing... There is no such thing as spot burning... you just have to lose the fat, and make sure…

I bought a Polar about 2 months ago and I love it! What to look for? Depends on what you want to use it for. I wanted one to measure my heart rate so I would have an accurate reading of the calories I was burning during a workout. This is perfect - and it does a lot of other things that are really useful. I chose it after…

Today was my weigh in day and I was down 1.5 lbs! Total of 7 lbs so far in 3 weeks! Very happy! Good work everyone! It feels great to get lighter and feel fitter!

Sejainigam - did you start JC? How's it going for you?

OMG - So many people have posted! Is there a way to get an alert when someone has posted on a topic you are interested in? Anyways... Stacy - Not sure if I have tried "new" foods... But so far, everything I've had I've liked with the exception of a few. I have not had the homestyle chicken... I love the salad kits... LOVE…

This is really interesting topic. I drink Crystal Light - not full strength... I add just a bit to my 20 oz water bottle to give it some flavor. I find I can get all my water in if I do that. But I worry about the artificial sweetener in that too. The only other sugar I've been using recently is raw sugar - a 1/2 tsp in my…

Great job Diane! How long did you stay on JC to lose the 80 lbs? Did you do a combo of JC and eating on your own or did you stick to JC 7 days a week?

2reads kids - I'm from ND too! I had my first weigh in last week - lost 4.7lbs - I didn't exercise at all because I was just coming off a cold. This week I've been exercising - walking, weight training, yoga -- so I'm excited to see the results. I really like the food too. The only thing I"ve had so far that I thought was…

Part II of my response  If you need a boost - make sure you aren't doing the same exercises each day/week. Interval training is a great way to push through plateaus. Of course, weight training is essential for burning calories. Circuit training is a great way to combine weights with interval training. Cut back on…

I think it is widely acknowledged that losing between .5 and 2 lbs a week is doable. But, I also think you may be focusing too much on the scale, and too little on how clothes fit or your body measurements. Why are you measuring this by 7 - 8 lbs? Is there a certain size you'd like to be by the end of the month? If so,…

OMG! How great! That is inspiring!

You're not alone sister! But frankly, jumping is overrated.

That's cool! I've read about a lot of people doing that.

Hello everyone! I'm 45 and the mother of four boys and wife to one ;) I am working on losing 20 lbs and then I'll work on another 10 - if my pre-peri-whatever- menopausal body with let me. I love exercising, coffee, traveling, theater and SHOPPING! I'd love to be added by any of you fabulous 40 women!

I've never done Nutrisystem - although I knew someone who did lose quite a bit of weight on it... then gained it back. I know Jenny Craig is not a long term solution - but it's the right one for me now. I've only been doing it for about a week and I have to say I'm impressed. The food is really good. And I haven't been…
