Thanks again to all of you guys!!!! I'm layin' low right now and will try to be VERY aware of my NAGGING, lol. :)

Thanks to all of you amazing MFP men. I wasn't really sure what type of response I would get from you guys and have to say my heart is warmed by your outpouring of support. With deepest gratitude. - amylynn

You sound just like him. Say no more. I won't bring it up again. But what do I do when he brings it up? Since you sound just like him I am really interested in your opinion. Seriously. I know it is hard to tell if someone is being a jerk, I'm not. I really want your advise.

I don't feel like I am nagging as I only will bring up MFP when he opens up about being frustrated about his weight. I don't nag him about all that he eats or drinks or going to the gym or the way he looks. But when he complains about how terrible he feels b/c his pants aren't fitting then I usually tell him-- "why don't…

Thank you.. He went to the dr who told him he was obese which really upset him. It seemed to make him more depressed than motivated. :( Anyway, thank you!! He has tired some of the diets that you mentioned above and is in his mid 40's with 50-75lbs to lose. I think if he got here he would do well--- just need to find a way…

True. I know he views me as a total nag. Sniffle. Sniffle. It's not my intention but I know that is how he feels.

^^^^^^ This sounds JUST like my husband!! He has struggled w/ his weight since childhood, tried every diet in the book, loves to drink beer and eat pizza. :) Thank you again, this means so much to me. :)

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your input. Keep em' coming! :)

The hot chicks might work, lol!!

Thank you. I will try that. I have asked him to read some of the amazing stories/journeys that men/women post on here but he seems to get frustrated w/ me. He has tried watching his calories in the past but he has never logged what he is eating. IMHO I believe he thinks that watching your calories is a waste of time (since…

Nice work!!! What did you do to reward yourself for the 5lbs mini-goals? My husband is trying to lose weight. I was hoping to get some ideas that might help him. AWESOME WORK!!

Love the recipes!! Anyone else have some they would like to share? I would love to find some AMAZING sweet potato pie casserole-crocktober dishes! Something healthy! Something delicious!! Or, even better..... pumpkin pie or pumpkin dessert dish!!!

My TOMs sound very similar to what you are experiencing. They would get so painful that sometimes I would black out. I consulted a Gynecologist and explained to that not only did I resemble a slaughter house for minimum of 10 days a month that the pain would prevent me from going to work, eating, functioning. The solution…

It didn't get there overnight and it isn't gonna leave overnight either. Focus on all the accomplishments you have completed. Think about how good it feels AFTER a work out and how proud you are when you close your diary under your calories for the day. :) I keep preaching about the Beck's Diet Book (it isn't a diet- it's…

Looks like you have received lots of great advise. I just want to add a couple things: Before I bought my food scale I guessed at the weights of my food. Because I wasn't losing weight I posted something similar to what you have and someone suggested I buy a cheap food scale which I did. Much to my surprise I was…

#1 Peacocks! The mirrors are there so you can correct your form not gush over-yourself. That's what the mirror at home is for. #2 Sub-par Personal Trainers!! It bums me out to see someone who is clearly new to the gym get stuck with a trainer who isn't giving them the support they need AND isn't correcting/demonstrating…

great job!! I love mini-goals!!

Feeling a bead of sweat squeeze out of my fat-roll and slide down my stomach. ***Yuk- felt so UNCOMFORTABLE*** Like I was in someone else.

I struggled with the same thing when I first started. I have been doing it since May, I am just now getting to the point where I don't panic due to my hunger. One of my pals on here suggested I read the book Beck's Diet. It isn't a diet book as in it isn't a fad diet and it doesn't tell you what to eat or how. What the…

I use to struggle w/ the get up and go too. What helped me was finding an exercise that I enjoyed and then set a work out appointment. This way, I wouldn't put it off. It also helped me to do it first thing in the day. Before I eat, drink water, take a shower, walk the dogs, pay the bills, go to work, study, etc. I would…

For my entire life I have struggled with HUGE mental blocks including the fear of going hungry, the desire to eat (instant gratification) being stronger than my desire to be in shape, food addiction, etc. Through MFP, I learned about a Cognitive Therapy book called The Beck's Diet. IT IS AMAZING!!! AND IT FOCUSES ON ALL…

LOL!!! A guy that admits he is married on here!!! Don't worry you aren't the 'creepy' guy, you sound like the honest guy.

Little goals are great!!! I have been struggling with the last five for a bit now. Happy to help you with support if you'll do the same. I'm a daily logger. :)
