Generally, the more you lose the harder it becomes to lose. Mathematically, you should probably only try to lose 1/2 a pound a week after you reach a certain weight. If you try to lose at a faster rate you'll most likely have to take in less than the suggested net 1200 per day.

In the famous words of nike.... "JUST DO IT!" :-)

I have the same problem If I work out hard one day I'm really hungry the next. I try to save a few hundred calories from the day I worked out really hard for the next day. It's all about knowing your body, if you know you'll be hungry the next day save some calories from they days you're not as hungry.

You have to start somewhere. When I first started running I was in the same boat. After a few years of practice, patience, diligence, and training I worked my way up to a marathon (26.2 miles) Just keep at it :-)

Do you like insanity? I've wanted to try it out. Currently, I'm training for a marathon so I'm not sure if I'd have time, or if it'd smart to follow the program and train for a marathon. How long is the program, and do you think itd still work if you stretched it out doing it every other day plus marathon training?

When I use that formula I get about 1350 calories before you multipy it by 1.7. 1350 is what it puts me at to lose 1/2 a pound a week. Then if I burned more I could eat more. I'm sure insanity has you multiply it by 1.7 because this is the way they allot you more calories for exercise. They're basically saying that you can…

I wanna be in! Just got married and went on my honeymoon and gain some weight I had lost back, ready to get those stubborn few back off! CW: 122 GW:115

Diet definitely plays a bigger role in exercise! I don't know what the exact "percentage" would be- IMO it would really depend on what your goal was and where you are at now.
-
It's all based on math formulas and assumes everyone is the same. If 1700 cals works for your body and you aren't gaining or losing and you dont feel hungry I wouldn't change. If you feel like you could eat more and you feel comfortable doing that you can. It's really just trial and error to see what works best for you.

This looks pretty cool I run and bike outside alot and I have the nike plus but it only works for running. I'll have to try the site out!

Go get the highlights to help feel good about yourself. Keep sticking with what you are doing. Do you feel better about yourself and more confident with how you look? Don't you feel stronger now that you've been doing the 30 day shred. Don't focus too much on the numbers, just keep up the good work and you will see the…

Chocolate! Idk what is it, I used to not even be that big of a fan of chocolate, but ever since I started watching what I eat and working out there is just something about chocolate that makes me want it!

Wow! That is great- the weightloss and the running! I can do 30 minutes at 7.5-8.5mph but idk if I'll ever make it to 10mph!

I agree with this! It's a lifestyle change, so you can't sit and count calories EVERY SINGLE DAY. Learn to eat good and be sensible, and on days when you want to enjoy yourself- do! Just don't make too much of a habit of it, and don't go overboard and eat everything in site. Just enjoy those good treats, or a meal out for…

I like Jillian Michaels other videos. "Trouble Zones" is definitely not as intense as the shred and is more for just overall body today, no cardio.

I did my first triathlon in September of last year ( A sprint- 500 yd swim, 15 mile bike, and 5k run). It was a great, and fun experience and I'm doing a second one at the end of this month. My advice would be to find a good training program you like and try to stick to it, during training try to bike after swimming, and…

A mix of Cardio and Strength training. If you think you'd like a workout video I definitely recommend Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. It's only $9 at walmart; It combines strength, cardio, and abs in a 20 minute session, and gave me nice results!
