  • Back with another update: I'm 38 +2 and have gained 20 lbs. Down two pounds from my last appointment at 37 weeks. Things seems like they are progressing, but I know women can be dilated for weeks before meeting their babies. Who knows... I may have my little baby boy in my arms by the next time I post. Btw... my goal is…

  • We were right! It's a boy! We're so excited.
  • I can totally understand where you're coming from. All of my family is from out of town. We still haven't decided who's coming when, where they're staying, etc. But I am a little worried about it. I would love my family to see the baby, but at the same time I know we will be learning a lot being first time parents and…
  • I like all the names that everyone has chosen. It's so hard to choose. We're still trying to decide, but we recently heard the name Declan. It's a unique name and I think I like it. We're considering the name Declan Elijah if we have a boy. What does everyone think?
  • I'm due March 25.
  • Thanks for the replies everyone. We find out what we're having in a week. Still think it's a boy... we'll see.
  • You should definitely increase your calories to maintenance. I was 15-20 lbs overweight pre-pregnancy and I am eating about 1800 calories a day. I haven't gained any weight so far and I am 19 weeks. Just try to keep active and you will be fine.
  • I'm back 4 weeks later for an update. pre-pregnancy: 161 9 weeks: 161 14 weeks: 159 18 weeks: 161 + 2 lbs from last appt. +0 from pre-pregnancy. Right on track! Be back again in 4 weeks to check in.
  • I've always imagined us having a little boy, so that could be part of it. We find out in about a month. I'm so excited!

  • @littlechino4f- or as Americans call it, "laughing gas". It's Nitrous Oxide which is what some people ask for while at the dentist here in the states.
  • I'm 5'3. Started at MFP with 65 lbs to lose. I've lost about 45 (gained 5 lbs back over this year). I still have 20 lbs to go. Feel free to add me. :flowerforyou:

  • If you are concerned about fitting in a nutritious breakfast, have you considered green smoothies? They can easily be made the night before or even a day in advance and then refrigerated. Green smoothies are a great way to fit in a nutritious meal on the go, and they're affordable! I'm able to fit in half of my fruit and…
  • I had a similar experience back in college. I was on Zoloft for almost two years and managed to gain about 60 lbs due to a combination of medication side effects and over eating from the depression. I've now lost about 50 lbs of the weight. I can definitely say it's been a journey. It's taken me 3 years to lose the…
  • I know this might sound strange, but try doing squats, lunges or jumping jacks each time you go to use the restroom. Just wait until the bathroom is empty, unless you feel comfortable doing them with people around. :) You can also sit on a workout ball at your desk. Also, another way is to always use the stairs. If you…
  • I'm sorry, but I don't have any pictures besides the ones on my profile. The majority of cardio exercise that I've done has been Zumba. So far I've lost 50 lbs (15 to go!) and I love Zumba! For the first year or so of my journey, Zumba was my only form of exercise . So, in short, Zumba is awesome!
  • Overindulging, motivation, being consistent. This past year has been the most difficult since starting my journey... I haven't lost any weight, so it's been discouraging.
  • When I reduced my carb intake, I always ordered unwiches there. I would get a turkey unwich with peppers, dijon mustard and all veggies. You may have to just stick with that or bring your own lunch from home. If you don't get a lunch break during your shift then wait until you get home to eat. If you get a 15 minute break…
  • Wheat or white bread, turkey or ham. No cheese or high fat dressings. Salads are great, too. Oh, and make sure to load up the veggies. I usually get turkey on wheat with no cheese, yellow mustard and all the veggies. I used to eat there up to 3 days per week. I've managed to lose 50 lbs, so it can't be that terrible for…
  • I know this is an old post, but I thought I'd share. I started out on MFP eating 1200 cal./day plus exercise calories. I've lost about 50 lbs. For this past year or so, I've bounced between the same 2-3 lbs. I thought it was because I've been so busy and haven't really kept up with my exercise routine like I would like to.…

  • 30ds refers to the 30 day shred program. It's a workout program done by Jillian Michaels from "The Biggest Loser". You can buy the dvd or find it on youtube. Basically, it's 3 levels and lasts 30 days. Each level, the intensity of the workout increases. Each level is 30 minutes long and takes 10 days to complete. The…
  • I get Starbucks' version of cafe au lait- a cafe misto. It's just coffee and milk (i get skim), then I add sugar free hazelnut flavoring. It's less than 100 calories for a grande, and I still feel like it's a treat. :)
