  • I have been a Zumba instructor for 3 years and have seen many success stories. I have one student that has lost 120lbs over the last 17months with Zumba 3xweek and strength training 2xweek. She was also watched her diet pretty closely. I think it is very important to add in variety to keep your body from adapting but Zumba…
  • This is a truly inspirational story. I am turning 37 this year and just signed up for my 1st half marathon. It has been on my list of things to accomplish before I turn 40. I will keep your story in my head for the long runs. Thanks for sharing. :)
  • Wow!! You are such an inspiration! That's alot of wieght in a short time. Keep up the great work.
  • So glad I found this post. I have done really basic Yoga twice and it was fabulous!! I tried the P90X Yoga and did not enjoy it. I teach Zumba and have been doing Insanity over the past 2 weeks. I'm getting really stiiff. UGH!! I will be taking my first "non basic" Yoga class tomorrow night after my Zumba class. Hopefully…
  • I have a few things that I can't get enough of right now. Spinach--- sautee w/garlic in a little chicken broth, use for salads, on sandwiches, in eggs, stuff into grilled chicken with a little fetta or asiago cheese. avacados-- with lime juice and cilantro broccoli---steamed, baked or grilled with other veggies
  • This sounds yummy. Thaht might just be my dinner tonight.
  • Honey and cinnamon (as a side or snack) 1Tbsp Peanut butter, honey, cinnamon, flaxseed, and apple slices or banana (as a meal)
  • I'm just on day 8 but I feel great! I'm blessed to have a friend doing it with me. I don't know if I could roll my butt out of bed early enough to do it otherwise. I do love my sleep! I have not lost any wieght but my quads are gettin' rock solid!
  • I can't wait to get that far I am on day 6. Glad tomorrow is my day off. My legs are on fire!! And I maintain that burpees are the devil!!!
  • Can someone tell me how long the videos are? I have done the 1st 2 but I will be getting up waay before the crack of dawn to do the workouts during the week and need to make sure I am allowing the right amount of time.
  • Yes. Everything. I don't just want to lose weight by creating a calorie deficit. I want to be sure I am healthy and fit so I like to track things like sodium/fiber/carbs/protien. Also if I don't log them and I hit a plateau will I be able to figure out why or how I can modify my eating/behavior to move past it? Probably…
  • Keep up the good work!!! Just on day 2.
  • One other thing to consider may be the types of food you are eating. It's natural for your body to signal that you are hungry if you are not getting the nutrients you need. For example: If you are eating too many carbs or sugars and not getting enough protien or nutrients from veggies you may eat 2000cals and still be…
  • Just starting. Completed Day 2 plyometric circuit today. I took about 2 extra 10 second breaks because my form was slippin'.
  • Day 2 done!! I had to pause for a few seconds during the last part with the "burpie/pushup/abs" portion. Burpies are the DEVIL!!
  • Great job!! I think it's important to celebrate the small successes that we struggle with daily but come out victorious!!!
  • Yes ma'am! It makes me very upset when I log a jog for my exercise and burn 300cals and log the same for my husband and he burns 500. Ugh!..and did I mention he gets to eat double my calories and still loses weight. Sorry-I got on my soap box.
  • I think that may have more to do with McDonalds than Zumba.
  • I teach Zumba and my HRM logs between 850-1020 cals per hour class. I'm teaching so I have to go Full throttle the full hour and I don't take breaks between songs-they play straight through. Things to consider- instructors have different styles and intensities, no one class is the same. Best advice wear your HRM and make…
  • I am a Zumba instructor with lots of success stories. I love to dance and share that love with others. It's like other workouts as far as you get out of it what you put into it but it's SOOOO much fun!!! <---in other words you can't be shy about shakin' it in class! I had a lady tell me this week in class that she has had…
  • My best friends are much more overwieght than myself and have terrible eating/health habits and don't have intentions of changing them. That is completly fine but it's hard sometimes to go hang out because it's always somewhere unhealthy to eat or have drinks etc. It's also hard not to have thier support for the healthy…
  • My go tos are: Slice of 100% whole wheat toast w/1Tbsp peanut butter, drizzle of honey, sprinkled w/cinnamon and flax seed, topped w/apple slices or banana when I want to channel my inner Elvis. Fat free plain greek yogurt, berries (blue black or strawberries-sometimes a mix), stevia drop, flax seeds, and sprinkle of kashi…
  • You are doing great!! Keep it up! I am starting Insanity Friday. You give me inspiration.
  • Broil w/EVOO and lemon butter seasoning (not real butter). Yum! I also like to toss w/whole wheat pasta or rice w/EVOO, garlic, and just a sprinkle of parmasian aregiano cheese.

  • I tried P90X. It was a good work out but I was bored out of my mind and the instructor kind of got on my nerves! We have a P90X class at the Y that I go to. It's much better than the videos.
  • OK. I am a normal chick just trying to drop some poundage. I am not a body builder nor am I trying to be. I do choose to have a little more protien and fiber than what is recommended for me by MFP within my calorie allowance. Only because I feel fuller longer and am less likely to get off track with unhealthy carbs. --- If…
  • Great job!! I am drawing my inspiration from you all. I'm starting Friday!!
  • I teach Zumba 2-3 x week. Walk/jog with the hubby and dog. Starting insanity at the end of the week. Anyone wanting to do it at the same time? I could always use the support and am willing to give support as well. .
  • I'm starting then too! No! We WON'T GIVE UP!!
  • Oh it's ON like Donkey Kong!! I'm in. Will start tomorrow. I have had the DVD's a while. My husband was going to do it with me but quit after the 1st work out . :noway: Needless to say, I did not carry the torch on after that but I am ready! Anyone willing to give support or in need of support please add me!! Let's do…
