Just a warning. I went veggie about 10 years ago for ethical reasons. Initially I lost weight, but I worked out all the time and did triathlons. Life got busy with school and work, fast forward 6 years and I'm 100 lbs overweight at least. I replaced veggies for starches, I would get stressed and grab ice cream over cooking…

Meet with a recruiter also. There are options and you can get in with exceptions if you have a skill that is needed. You will go on a restricted diet from the start but you're in.

Yogurt, cottage cheese, nuts, you can make your own protein shakes, peanut butter on fruit . . . I order Zone bars and Clif bars from amazon in bulk (about $1/bar, but you can find cheaper ones) and you can get a pretty decent protein powder online or in a store. I eat about 30 minutes before I leave work and drink water…

I am so sorry you had to go through that. Don't worry, fitness will come back quickly, just listen to your body. Diet is key to weight loss, and with anemia, your macros and micros will be important. MFP uses your height, weight, and current activity level and tells you how many calories to eat to loose the amount of…

Thanks jgnatca. I am just starting out and hopefully a good pulmonologist can get me sorted. I miss working out and can accept it might not be the same but I cant keep sitting on my couch dying. Good luck ChelsiH1993!

For me I got a normal cold and about a week after the cold cleared I was wheezing and a struggling to breathe. Albuterol and steroids didn't do much and ended up in the er on day 15. The doctor said it sounded like asthma but I had no history of asthma or allergies. 2 days before I finished a 10 day course of prednisone I…

I think I am about to get diagnosed with asthma and I'm so scared. I've ended up in the ER twice this month within days of weening off prednisone. This really feels like a death sentence, so thank you for posting this. It's good to know you can be active with asthma.

I need at least 2 hours post workout to calm down. Anything after 7 really messes me up not to mention the extra water I take in makes me wake up to pee. Early evening is no problem.

Yeah but if it's just straight up pumpkin pie and there are other dessert options I don't see as often, I would choose the less common stuff. If the pumpkin pie was fancy, I would probably go for that.

I tied a knot into the middle.of the leash and put a carbiner in it to hook bags too

A good rule of thumb is to practice your weakest sport 3 times a week and you best at least once. The middle one twice. Work in brick workouts into training. When you feel comfortable you can stucture it more.

It's not weird at all, just check the cutoff times. There is no shame in walking, your out there having fun. Good luck.

Back in the day I used to be on the track team and got side stiches. A coach told me to breathe out not up. It worked. Never had a side stich again.

Don't get hung up on labels. People go vegan and veggie for a variety of reasons. I think any reduction in animal consumption is a positive thing.

This is hilarious. I say the Navy killed my dad's taste buds all the time and no one gets it.

Beans, cheap protein source and tons of things to do with them.
-
For baked goods that pair well with banana, that's my choice.

:) I really hope you get to try out some day and kill it. I'm not happy because I am not healthy and I miss the ease of doing simple things, but I definitely get your point about the self hate. Congrats on the weight loss!

You eliminated maybe 2 grams of protein. This did not cause uncontrollable hunger.

I've been a vegetarian for about 10 years now but my diet is *kitten* which explains why I am overweight. I would love to go vegan. Good luck!

I think it was the grease and fat. I used to eat ice cream all the time but the last time I ate too much and within 30 minutes I got very sick. I know it wasn't food poisoning because it only lasted a couple of hours. Your body can adapt quickly.

If you can, maybe invest in a punching bag. Hitting something provides a better workout than the dvd's.

I would warn them, and then stop talking to them.

It's actually illegal in my state to pass close to a bike, but I still won't ride my road bike outside of organized rides. Nearly every cyclist I know has had a major car related accident. No matter who is right, the car always wins. I am envious of people who live in bike friendly areas. Adding, I also purposely ride in…

I would suggest actual training. DVD's are great but not really martial arts.

My 2 cents is your diet is very aggressive and a poor idea for someone who is only pre-diabetic. Doctors have very little nutrition training, FYI. You can accomplish the same thing with a reasonable diet and loosing weight.
