I've done a bit of weightlifting throughout the previous months and I know from experience trying to do a full body workout will most likely leave you in pain everywhere at the beginning because you've strained every party of your body. That being said though, it also depends on how intense you are doing the weightlifting…

My running shoes would slide a lot in my heel but the rest of my foot felt pretty comfortable which I had also thought it was just the overall shoe breaking in but then I found that it could actually just be how I was lacing them up that was the issue. Maybe check out this site and see of any of the lacing techniques they…

I used Shakeology for a little over a year and only stopped a few months ago when I found myself using it less and less. I still have a bag left and use it on occasion in a shake or just as a quick meal but I no longer make it a staple in my food log like I used too. Do I think it helped? Probably. I did lose most of my…

I've had moments like that before as well, one day ends up way over than I had meant it to be. Also like you I would try and make up for it the next day to make the week balance out. Sometimes it would work for me but a lot of the time I would still feel hungry enough I would give in and end up eating a bit more, and…

I've had my fitbit for about a month now and I think it has really helped me see the difference in the amount of calories I burn throughout the week. My week was always broken into three different levels: inactive days (my weekend), average work day (about 3 days of the week) and super busy (weekends, food server and…

Depends on how far you plan to go over. In general, no. Going over, say 200 calories, one day will not overall make you gain weight. If you weigh yourself everyday then you may see a gain but it's not actual weight gain. Now if you went over by something like 5,000 calories then yes, you may put on a pound or two. You…

When I started I did nothing (exercise wise) except take walks which started as a 15 min loop around the block and would increase over time. Now I walk/jog for about a 3 mile loop every few days (doing strength training now on opposite days) and it has gotten easier overall except that some days may be harder then other if…

I lost my first 80 lbs or so with just cardio, starting with walking then moving up to jogging. Now I try to incorporate weight training into my workouts but I try to split each day: strength three days a week, cardio 2 days, maybe 3 and I alternate and also have rest days during the week. Jogging is something that I have…

I tend to just go with any type of pants/shorts that have a drawstring, not only does that help keep my pants on when running but in general I can usually wear them longer as I lose more weight. Right now I have a few cotton shorts and a nylon pair, no long pants at the moment but I try and pick any type that breathes well.

Grats on reaching, and maintaining your goal weight! My feeling about extra exercise is that it probably won't hurt as long as your not straining yourself just to get it in, but if you are feeling up too it then why not? I generally don't work out on Saturdays because I am so busy at work and am usually tired so I will…

I feel more confident, there are so many smaller things I notice now that make me feel glad that I decided to change how I lived. Yesterday I noticed, while driving, that my stomach didn't come close to the steering wheel like it used too and that just brought my mood waaaay up. Clothes fit better than ever before and I…

I bought a resistance band for about $10 then invested in some weights (10lbs) just to do some light strength training at home. When I started losing weight at the beginning I only did cardio in the form of walking which has now progressed into jogging but now I really wanted to start incorporating strength training into…

I used to only run or do a brisk walk then recently started throwing in some strength training. I had hit a stall with my weight loss about a month ago that lasted 3 weeks. I tried zig zagging my calories, eating less carbs, upping my protein. Nothing really did anything and my weight only changed a few ounces each day.…

Do you use a HRM during your workouts to track how much you lose? I was stuck for about 3 weeks at the same weight then got a HRM, on the first night I used it I realized I was over estimating how many calories I was burning so I would unknowingly end up eating over my calorie limit since I eat my calories back. I think in…

After a while it became just a routine for me, but I know at the beginning it was the worst because there were so many times when I had to resist the temptation to just grab a burger somewhere like I normally would have, or I had to really force myself to get out and exercise. This is the first major change I have made,…

I agree that thrift stores, or any place that sells cheap clothes is what you should be looking into. When I started my weight loss I was wearing a 3x shirt, borderlineing a 4x and after a few months everything was just hanging off. I waited as long as I possibly could stand it before going to Walmart and (this was at the…

It sounds like you are active throughout the week but losing weight is a combination of exercise and calorie intake. If you are working out too much and not eating enough then you may still find yourself struggling to lose or being very tired every day. You said that you are eating 1200-1500 calories a day, is that what…

I know that in the past my weight has gone up as much as 5 lbs in one day but the time I went to bed, then in the morning was back to normal if not even a bit under. I don't usually weigh myself that frequently but I was curious to see what kind of fluctuations I had. Seeing that you weighed yourself right after a meal the…

I pretty much do something similar in my routine. My main thought process when I started was "I want to make a change and be healthier, eat healthier and work out more but still enjoy food". Now I do eat a lot healthier than I did a year ago when I started and I work out more but it's not to an extreme. My meals consist…

I think it took me about a month or so before I really started to see the weight begin to drop off, maybe a bit more even and that is one of the hardest times. You put in so much work and don't see any results, but the results will come! Just keep at it and don't forget to take a rest day here and there. I used to walk at…

I've hit plateau's every now and then, some things that I have tried to do to get past are to switch up my work out routine. While I normally just walk or jog at night I will try and shake things up by adding some weightlifting in (free weights at home, I have no gym membership at the moment). Try doing a routine of…

I was thinking the same thing. Is the 1200 what MFP has suggested or is that your personal goal? I used to net around 1300-1400 everyday even though my limit at that time was closer to 1740 (1 pound a week) which meant I was eating way under and I wasn't really loosing anything for a while. Then I started eating more like…

Getting a late start but I will finish this before midnight tonight!

I sometimes get it right away and sometimes it can take a while for my brain to take the hint that the meal is finished and no more is coming. I have found over time that if I drink some extra water (like 20-30oz) by the time the food is gone I tend to have that full feeling more quickly, but I also have taken to chewing…

Hi Lisa! Great progress so far, keep it up and you'll be at your goal and feel great! I sent you a request.

I don't think I could do a full "cheat day" where I just ate whatever without counting calories or anything, I do usually have a "cheat meal" about once a week though but even then I plan for it. At the same time I have never considered fully cutting out all the bad food from my diet, I still have 1/2 a cup of ice cream…

It's a pain and you're right, it is depressing to see that even with all this weight lost there is a sign that it was once there (or something like that). I haven't reached a point of really considering anything super drastic like surgery mainly because I still have a long way to go but also because I would rather try to…

new goal for me for Sept! I'll get in on this one.
